  • to all the people bitching about how terrible current music is, SHUT THE FUCK UP, WE DONT HAVE DISCO, WE DON'T HAVE HAIR METAL, AND WE DON'T HAVE THE MONKEES. you have nothing to complain about, there was, is, and always will be shitty music. stop acting like a bunch of nostalgic hipsters, if you con't like current music then go out and form a band and stop whining.

  • 49 people never seen The lords of dog town

  • @thewriter1008 Obviously enough, you never grew up in the 70's! Led Zeppelin is a band not a "he". They had many chart toppers! Every heard of Stairway to Heaven? How about Neil Young's Heart of Gold? The 60's, with the immergence of the Beatles, started a whole new ara of music called rock and roll. Bubblegum existed, however, was not all we listened to. I am thankful for this generation of chart toppers, the foundation that rock and roll was built upon.

  • IM SO BLAZED

  • Neil Young is a douche, good song though

  • @JasonMarano How is he?

  • I have to admmit that 2000+ music is terrible. People said robots will one day take over the world, they wasn't far off... They are taking over music! Too many effects, too much techo crap and just fast rushed songs made for only a few months untill people get bored. This sort of music lasts longer than any of the new crap and this type actually takes tallent and skill. R.I.P Music.

  • most of the music coming out today is absolute shit no talent at all. this is REAL music :D

  • @DrDavidHowler i think our generation (assuming ur part of the younger genaration atm) is growing up 2 fast

  • live

  • seen him line in `87....so hella cool.

  • ha that should be close your eyes and take it in

  • close you eyes and take it in

  • Close your eyes and it's 1971 all over again.

  • Jay Adams \m/

  • neil young haters go listen to barbie girl

  • jst sayingg neil youngs the fucking shit

  • Timeless classic. Perfect combo of beautiful music and meaningful lyrics.

  • Love it! My Dad always played Neil Young Unplugged when I was younger. :-)

  • we need to get this to A MILLION

  • I'm only 18 and all of my friends make fun of me for listening to Neil. They call me an 'old man.' I thought that was poetic justice.

  • Good taste of music brought me here!!

  • Im 15 years old and i love this song age has nothing to do with it.

  • @789123456joe Im 12 :P Neil young is one of my favorites

  • @789123456joe Then why did you tell us your age?

  • 44 dislikes? I'd kind of like to meet the 44 people that don't like good music. I wanna know what they listen too.

  • @RDJ1109 Probably hard rock or something. Sabbath or Iron Maiden or something like that. Maybe this isn't quite heavy enough for them. Or maybe it's too slow, for fans of punk rock. Perhaps for fans of Bowie or Pink Floyd, it's not quite bizarre enough. Maybe there are some who aren't a fan of Young's voice. Perhaps they just don't enjoy the song. Not every person who dislikes Neil Young is a slave to the top 40 stations.

  • @thewriter1008 Possibly. Although based off the fact that their looking up Neil Young videos on YouTube in the year 2012 I've already assumed that they aren't a slave to top 40 music.

  • @RDJ1109 Point being, there's nothing wrong with people who dislike Neil Yong.

  • @thewriter1008 Funny, don't recall saying that there IS something wrong with people who dislike Neil Young (or this particular song, which is what I was actually referring too). I was merely pointing out that I don't understand those people. You see, there are many things in this world that I don't understand. That isn't to say that there is something wrong with all those things. I was simply making an observation. Sorry if you misunderstood. I clearly offended you.

  • @RDJ1109 I'm not offended. Seeing people make comments about dislikes annoys me. It is good music, in our opinions, but apparently not in everyone's opinion. It automatically makes people seem like they're ripping on everyone who doesn't like it. I'm actually curious about why people are driven to like some styles of music and dislike others. I've actually researched it a bit. Pop culture simply fascinates me.

  • I guess I'm an 18 year old brought up with the right music.

  • LMFAO? STFU. How about that?

  • i love this song and im only 23

  • How does anyone dislike this? Such great music is very rare.

  • Being born in the 90's.. I don't apologize for my generation...

I grew up in the golden age of Hip-Hop (Tupac, Biggie, NWA, etc), and it was also a great decade for ska and metal (Sublime/Pantera FTW). The 90's was the last time I've heard great music.

  • this is one of the best songs i have ever sat and listened to. i hope that this generation will me like the last one, calm

, kind, and every one knows every one

  • Why would a teen apologize for his generation? We haven't done anything yet. I'm confident in my generation, for we are against the wall. The generation right before us however....

  • @SkunkCommand Our generation is the first one to be anywhere near this connected with the rest of the world. We have the potential to save our world. We also have the potential to mess it up. It all depends on how we communicate with others.

  • @thewriter1008 Fuck you

  • @sonrisolprarebater What for?

  • IM 2 AND THREE QUARTERS AND I LOVE THIS MUSIC

  • @seancochrann if you're 2 and a half years old you wouldn't be able to type. if you can, congratulations you have a very bright future ahead of you

  • Waaaaaaah I'm so much better than the rest of my generation GROW THE FUCK UP

  • @DrDavidHowler Thank you! Our generation is no worse than any others. Musically, the 60s and 70s were filled with bubblegum crap in the mainstream. Led Zeppelin and Neil Young weren't chart-toppers in their day, believe it or not. We learn things in school that our parents didn't. The more underground music of our age is actually quite fantastic, and not every mainstream artist is awful. Our generation builds on what every generation below us did. Grow up.

  • @thewriter1008 Your comment should be at the top!

However, old pop is awesome. I mean, soft rock and pop rock of the 20th century kicks ass!

  • @thewriter1008 I agree wholeheartedly. The "I listen to [insert any older music group here]" thing is just a way for some people to feel superior to others.

  • Man, what does my Generation have to be retarded?

  • Neil Old:

    Young Man

  • Just heard this on the radio and immediately fell in love! Who said they don't play good music on the radio anymore?

  • such rich rich friends.... how can i can begin to be like you... my friend.

    tale care

  • Gotta say gang, it was awesome, I was there. But your all allright.

  • thirteen years old, listening to neil young with my girlfriend and talking about what life mustve been like in the past....fucking awesome

  • @bignkfan faggot

  • Music like this can make a 12 hour shift blow by in a minute. Purely beautiful music. Love it.

  • If Anybody wants to hear some other good music check out dream girl by (i think) Robert and James. or something like that

  • THIS JAM IS THE SHIT!!

  • regulary i listen to house music but this... is 10 times better

  • @jesdebest it's because it actually has meaning

  • Well first of all most documentaries are, most. and most records don't cost a shit ton of money, record players for a good one about 50 to 75 bucks. This is for a vintage player, not a state of the art turn table. plus its a better value than i tunes. plus that's one of the problems with this generation we are too plugged in to technology. So sir i think you've lost this arguement

  • heard this song for the first time on 'Due date' and now i can't live without it..

  • WHY does every kid find this good music from stupid things like documentaries and video games? I guess its better than not finding it at all. I'm 14 and i found this music from getting an old record player and going out and buying records and listening to them.

  • @ChuckTeStA97 are you seriously telling me that documentaries are stupid? IMO, spending shit tons of money on old records so you can listen to them with an old record player is dumber than just exploring music on the internet. I'm 15 and I used google to find Neil Young, Bob Dylan and other amazing artists.

  • @Rattista And yes i do use Google to find some songs, but u just cant beat the sound of vinyl

  • @ChuckTeStA97 congratulations!

  • @ChuckTeStA97 Good on you man, they just dont get it. I am 33 and collect vinyl, always have, always will. There are things you will find on old records by "crate digging" that you will never find on the internet.End of. It is good though I suppose that lazy plebs get access to stuff that they might never get to hear by using the net. Cheers. BTW check out Buddy Rich "The Beat Goes On" . I think it was the boomers that ruined shit not you guys so just concentrate on fixing it :)

  • @lachlan728 Yea I completely agree with you.Though I don't think it was the boomers per say, but just the late eighties(somewhat) and the 90s that kind of started to ruin music with more boy bands, and other types of music we could do with out, most notably rap.

  • Im 13 and i will never fully understand this music but i dont need to my generation sucks ALOT!

  • @ExT0NiC Your generation does not suck, and if you think it does maybe you should do something about it

  • Comment removed

  • I heard this song back in '96-'98. back before they showed it on these famous movies.

  • this is according to me the best song ever made

  • NO JAY NOT THE HAIR!!!!

  • Brilliant man. Music has gone to shit.

  • that pat barryy

  • JEFF!!!!!!

  • this song makes me so sad, tears of joy though. classic. lords of dogtown ftw!

  • @speechrighter you are probably right about that...

  • Greatest guitarist list EVER...1) Hendrix 2) Clapton 3) D. Allman 4) Young 5) BB King

  • @TicMoney1985 I like the list, but the top four would probably say #5 and his blues brethren are a collective #1!

  • @TicMoney1985 your leaving stevie ray vaughan out..

  • neil young aka the man

  • Californication

  • jayboy

  • This song is priceless, it's in the movie Lords of Dogtown and that's my favorite movie. <3

  • DUE DATE!....film and a half. <3

  • californication !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dogtown.

  • Grand-father, I'm sorry for my generation, we ruined what you built.

  • @naturalsurferable11 No the boomers ruined shit man. We now have to fix it, if we can get off out apathetic asses and do something about it. :0)

  • @naturalsurferable11 built what?! A society of consumers!

  • @Mies78 A society of illegally downloading you mean. Not consumers.

  • love the song it reminds me of my old man

  • I dont get why majority the new generation is like obsessed with only techno, dubstep and rap....why cant we listen to more music like this and Red Hot Chilli peppers and the good stuff....not hating of techno and shit but we should start getting back into this.

    -comming from a teen

  • @willhar30 i agree with you completely,i for one cant stand dubstep or techno and all the other garbage that is making our generation of music only more worse

  • @AnxiousPunkVideos i mean i like listening to techno and dubstep but if i had to chose 9 outa 10 times id chose this kinda music over techno and dubstep (the tenth time is when i feel pumped ya know) but this is just over all better music....like technno and dubstep arent even made by instruments....is that where music is headed? without instruments....thats like really scary

  • @willhar30 there are a lot of people who feel that way.... I'm 18 and I play guitar.... honestly, I fear that I will reach the day where instruments will be considered a "lost art"..... but maybe I'm just paranoid....

  • @DarkLionInteractive i feel like that might happen but also i feel like rock is guna make a come back and techno and dubstep and rap will be gone for a while then come back and itll be a cycle. But until then theres nothing we can do but embrace it all and enjoy it ya know?

  • @AnxiousPunkVideos actually, dubstep and techno isn't THAT bad.... you just need to choose the right stuff and have an open mind..... I listen to everything from Classical to Jazz to rock & metal, aaalll the way down to dubstep.... and I'm here to tell you to give, like, 10% of Dubstep a chance. Weed helps. A LOT. if you're not into that, then just try listening to some dubstep... I'd go with Mt. Eden for starters

  • yay, I am sooo obsessed over this song for over a year now

  • Questo Capolavoro i truxxi di merda non lo hanno ancora remixato!!!!Bellissima!!!!

  • Im a teen...I sincerly apoligize for my generation

  • @drumsolo489 Yeah I Don't Think We Will Be Forgiven Either!!!!!

  • @drumsolo489 I'm not sorry for what people my age have done, and I still like older music. Don't assume that there wasn't shitty music back in the day when this was written too.

  • @oatmealboy3 well said

  • @drumsolo489 Why would you apologize? Our generation hasn't even started to form it's real identity, were still young. Say sorry for your Parents generation, it's time for us to fix what they fucked up.

  • man this song reminds me of my old man. takes me back to when we had a good relationship. this song really makes me appreciate my old man. love ya pa.

  • wonder boys track <3

  • I had the great pleasure and honour to see Neil performing this song live (among others, of course) in summer 2008, in Eastern France. He still has this pure voice he had back in the '70s. And the show gathered three generations of fans, what a night !

  • well joojoo tear no more, its not about his dad. He came into a raunch letting the guy know he didnt have to leave.

  • people can interpret this song any way they like, that's the beauty of music

  • Lords of Dogtown? Yes.

  • californication is a song by red hot chili peppers...why are people mentioning it here?

  • @James25H because in the TV show californication, they play this song, its not referring to the band.

  • i never knew my old man, i wish i did

  • wheres dat replay at?

  • great song.

  • What the hell is Californication?

Being raised right with the classics in this age of auto-tune and extreme over-production as well as a love for Neil Young is what brought me here. I could listen to any of his songs every day for the rest of my life.

  • @carlierose4 californication dosnt have auto-tune and its early 90s its not like the songs today

  • Comment removed
