I checked Google maps and I see the part that flows out and down to Mexico but not the part that flows up into America? I'm not saying it does work the way they show but most of that pollution is right on the border dividing line and it appears Mexico is doing most of the polluting.

I hunt the Imperial Valley. One morning we saw green fog hanging over the river. If I did not see it with my own eyes I would not have believed it. The whole river smells like a damn shithouse. A 100 foot high dam, stretching along the USA-Mexico border, would back up a huge lake of polluted water and flood out the towns in Mexico that are creating the mess. A canal or pipeline with pumps could then carry the mess, to the East and dump it into the Colorado River. What comes from Mexico, should be returned to Mexico.

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that swimming across the New River and not taking proper measures to bathe yourself only spreads the pathogens to others. How do you think all these outbreaks of diseases we nearly have eradicated come about? Illegals do not go through the necessary medical checkpoints and immunizations they need. They completely circumvent any preventative measures to insure that they are not bringing in anything communicable.
