It's essentially q3a with a few minor changes. I uses all the same assets I believe.

You can get them with autodownload, just type in "/cl_allowdownload 1" in the console, or enable autodownload through the game options menu.

After autodownload is enabled, just join any server which has them. The server named "Nemesis" has them.

Woow, incredible! I never manage to use that railgun correctly and sometimes I think it's almost useless except for some special points. But you showed me that it really IS possible to use it effectively. Hitting a moving person with a railgun while jumping. Wow. But about "one hit kills": Normally, that isn't the case, only if you use the railgun and the other person has no armor. But you can find armor everywhere, so it is most likely, that he won't die from the first hit.

Yeah, if they have JUST respawned, they will have 125 health, with that amount decreasing slowly until it reaches 100. Since the rail does 100 damage, it will not kill them instsantly right from a respawn.

I try to zap them with the lightning gun for a second to take off the 25hp first, then quickly switching to rail for the kill :)

I was going to dl this game but first checked out this vid.. won't dl now.. will stick to FEAR [I never liked QIII for the same reason as this game, which, I know, is based on that engine, but it's too fast and one hit kills.. no tactics, no run, cover, duck, take a bullet or two.. it's boom you're dead.. not my kind of game hehe] but cool vid nonetheless, you play really good

It is fast, but it does require tactics on top of that. You do have to take cover, especially on higher levels of play. I am not sure if it is as much as in FEAR, but it is there. Keep in mind that this video is just a collection of frags sync'd to the music :) It does not show the tactics/cover. The tactics required is why Q3 is one of the most popular games played professionally.

Meh, even FEAR isn't exactly all about the skill. The weapons are too unbalanced, for one.

Now, America's Army, THAT's a skill game.

Which is why I don't play it. You've gotta take your lumps before you can start racking up kills, and I just don't have the patience.

And besides, everyone knows skill snobs go for Subspace/Continuum. :P

I beg to differ.. I can kill my brother with the shotgun while he's using the assault riffle [for example] because I'm more skilled... perhaps you're talking about the noob weapons, which are the grenade launchers, the particle beam and the other grenade launcher.. which are disabled in most servers... dunno, I still find it WAY fun xD
