First Call Vans. They're designed because cars are EXPENSIVE, hearses are REALLY EXPENSIVE and many funeral directors cannot afford to buy both, but because they are a small business they have to drive their work car and home car as the same vehicle. I am a hearse collector, but I despise these. I guess if you were a soccer mom, this is how you'd want to go.
You could stop at the Senior Center to effect an early "removal", drop the kiddies off at school, play the back nine and be back to the Funeral Home before... well, you know. Maybe white would be a better color, so it didn't get quite so hot in the back. This is clearly the Swiss Army Knife of hearses, though.
Is this thing refridgerated? It would be a great bonus feature to have you could take your dead loved one for a long drive up state... It would also be great for camping...
when i was a teen , there was a black dude in El Dorado , Arkansas that bought one for his personal use. It was an old one, bit he cruised North West Avenue , circling sonic then up to Meller Park Mall and back again every night. What a weirdo.
"What do you meean about the "this is a hearse" side panels?"
The "landau irons" are the curved irons (look a little bit like a cleff) mounted on removable panels at the rear side windows. Now they're just decorative, but in the days of horse-drawn hearses they were part of a cloth top which could be folded back for viewers along the funeral route, weather permitting. Nowadays, they're not seen on many vehicles except hearses and funeral limousines.
can you just get those window panels on there own? i need them for my van just in case there's no hearse

I was sold when I realized you could easily remove the tell-tale "this is a hearse" side panels. Now if you could just remove the stigma.

What do you meean about the "this is a hearse" side panels?
ChaosMissile 4 years ago
the side panels on the back windows with the metal design on them that makes it instantly identifiable as a hearse
