I'm guessing she's mainly an indoor cat, so she's probably a little bit on the defensive being out of her normal range. That, or maybe she just really didn't want to go inside just yet :D
walking a cat is fine actually a lot of people do it and cats actually learn just as fast as dogs...the only thing is you might want to use one of those smaller leashes the clasp on that one might be a bit heavy by the looks of it

Cats are independent, free-ranging animals who only come to you when they want something. Putting it on a leash is treating it like a dog. It doesn't feel at all comfortable and is probably annoyed that you won't let it have any privacy in order for it to do its business. that's why it's hissing and scowling at you.

I know it was 4+ years ago, but I have to defend this poor girl. 1) Cats sometimes run away because they see a bug/chipmunk. 2) Even though they are animals, like someone said, if they are not used to the outdoors they can get hit by a car. 3) If you live in an area like mine, housecats are on the menu for coyotes. 4) Look sweetie, the cat probably isn't directly mad at you or "being mean." No cat likes a leash, yours just knows that's the only way it can go outside. And it loves the outside! :D

just a little tip, it would be better to get a harness for her. cats have quite a thin and frail neck bone, unlike dogs. so if u walk her regularly get a harness, its saver for your cat! of course it would be more natural to let her out without a leach, she would get much more exercise!

we also have leashes for our cats because we live in a city where they would get hit by a car outside. However,like someone else said your cat should be in a harness not a neck leash it is safer for her. Our cats usually hiss if we take them inside too soon....you're cat probably wanted to explore more :) If we have time and patients we usually follow them around and they walk back inside the house when they are done :) No worries!
I have a little cat named Sophie too. She used to belong to my crappy neighbor who threw her out of the house. Said she was using the bathroom outside of the litter box. Now that I've got her she always goes to the litterbox. I call her my little angel, but she can get hot tempered too when she sees another cat. I have to leash one of my cats but I admit I use a harness, which I think is way more comfortable for the animal if they must be on a leash. It'll be more comfortable than that heavy leash ^^; Maybe that's why she was upset...I'm barely able to walk my kitty with a harness...most of the time, he'd rather be dragged across the floor! ^^;

I have a little cat named Sophie too. She used to belong to my crappy neighbor who threw her out of the house. Said she was using the bathroom outside of the litter box. Now that I've got her she always goes to the litterbox. I call her my little angel, but she can get hot tempered too when she sees another cat. I can always tell when she's mad she'll start wagging her tail fast. Other than that she's a little sweetheart.

I'm sorry your getting negative comments. People do walk their cats but its supposed to be on a harnest, you should never NEVER have it around its neck because cats necks are fragile compared to dogs, so they can snap.

The one and only reason that cat is having a hissy fit is because it is aggresive, not afraid at ALL, which by the way ALL cats get if they are "tormented" or hurt by beings as big as humans...
So NO it's not an evil girl tormenting a cat to have hissy fits, it's a cat being assertive and aggressive, showing dominance over her...

lol my friend had a big fluffy cat that HATED strangers but she'd walk to the door when she wanted to go out on her leash. MY cat on the otherhand hates them but I won't let her out alone as she was born an apt cat and is terrified when she escapes so a leash it is. she will only sit by me in it though if i try to get her to walk with it FOR GET it she will promptly plop down and refuse lol

Hi all! Cats don't like to be walked on leashes, they are not dogs. They may tolerate it in some cases but definitely not something they like to do and it is against their nature. It was that girl's fault that he cat behaved like that. Please understand, cats are not dogs!

Guys I put my cats on a leash once and they arent used to it, it did NOT hurt them in any way... So you people are idiots if you think this girl is hurting the cat with a leash, sometimes cats like to play with the leash and get tangled up by accident but can get out easily, so you people should stop hating on this vid xP

Some who left comments here are idiots! She is not hurting the cat in the slightest! Leashes are the only way some cats can ever go outdoors. My cat LOVES going out on his long leash in our backyard! Unless you live in a park or estate, letting your cat run free exposes him to all kinds of dangers, pestilence & diseases. Better to go out on harness & leash than go free and get run over by a car, tortured by a psycho, pick up a disease, or get lost and starve or freeze to death!

@firesniperbullet2 Probably because it would run off and get killed, either by another bigger animal or it would get ran over by a vehicle. Yeah I agree cats should not be on leashes but I also think dogs should not be on leashes either (mine anyway, they are trained). When I go outside with any of my animals (birds, cat, dog) they are on leashes. Yes birds have leashes also. It is for their safety and not to be cruel. My cat is not crazy about being on a leash but she deals with it.

Yep, people are usually assholes when it comes to cats and the care of cats. Everyone's a cat pro on here and only their own opinion is what matters in the entire world. I have to leash one of my cats but I admit I use a harness, which I think is way more comfortable for the animal if they must be on a leash. And just because you're cat doesn't run away or require a leash doesn't mean everyone else's doesn't. Deal with you're own animal the best way YOU see fit. Too many armchair veterinarians.

You have such a cute kitty! That's great you can walk her. I'm not criticizing, but my only suggestion is maybe try getting a harness and smaller leash for her. It'll be more comfortable than that heavy leash ^^; Maybe that's why she was upset...I'm barely able to walk my kitty with a harness...most of the time, he'd rather be dragged across the floor! ^^;
