excellent car.

reminds me of my youth, we would always get a lift to the banger racing and stockcars in a friends dads sd1, he had the 2600cc, kept blowing head gaskets.

still managed a really fast pace along country lanes, it just soaked up all the bumps and wafted along even at 90mph!

It's not about the speed with the Rover SD1,it's all about the noise,and the noise of this 5.3 litre's of V8 goodness makes an E28 M5 sound like a hungry kitten!

I do love the rover v8 and this sounds gorgeous, but a de cat e28 M5 or even a 528i sounds nice in my opinion ;)

With stroker kits, and a rebore, you can take a RV8 upto 5.3ltrs, its just expensive to do.

no,its actually a 5.3 and these cars weigh in quite well,only 30 kg more than a MKII Mondeo.

I just checked tech specs on both and the M5 of simular age was 200 kg heavier and roughly a second slower,though these figures mean very little in the real world,it does show they stacked up well against each other.
