The subject of Ginseng came up on the Banjo Hangout site, so I posted a link to your rendition, just in case 46,000 OutHangers in 50 nations want to hear the song done well.
I really like your version, I have just a few more tracks and I will have the song recorded. I have your versions on favs' five stars to ya. Enjoyed. Jeff.
its good to stay away from the vocal melody notes when playing fiddle fills. if u hit the same not on fiddle as the singer sings whats the chances they both are gonna be on perfect pitch.
This is a Norman Blake composition from his first solo album for Rounder. It's available on CD. I believe the album title is Back Home in Sulpher Springs.
...why is the fiddle player playing over every verse pretty much? unless he was trying to add background graces, because he did get louder during his solos, but in that case if he were trying to add background music he should have been standing, and then back away from the one mic.
very good though. have been looking for a while for a recorded version of this song.
