@str94100 mh good question! I will say all of the above! On Mondays I'm a powerlifter, on Tuesdays a bodybuilder, on Wednesdays an O'lifter, on Thursdays I'm an explosive strength maniac, on Fridays I'm a basketball player and on weekends I'm on crutches, drunk and pissed off at the whole world cause the gains are never coming fast enough!!!!! But on mondays I usually start over.
Do you have access to squat racks? What are those platforms under the weight you are using. Yes you are a beast and I am not trying to give advice I am just wondering why you are using those platforms. Compared to you I am a geek. Please tell answer my question Chez.
@watsby7 The rack is a must for heavy squat but none is needed for dynamic lifts. The blocks are to start from a high position. Because you don't accelerate from the floor, the acceleration should take place after the bar has passed the knees. Furthermore it doesn't allow to take advantage of the eccentric portion, thus working on starting strength, or the ability to transition from a relaxed muscle to maximal contraction in the shortest time possible.
I use the Powerlyzer from Tendosports (or tendo unit) I think there is another one called micro muscle lab from another brand. It's simple and it does its job. I've had it for about 5-6 years now and it makes dynamic training phases a lot more fun.
How many days a week do you do deep knee bends in your training? I'm icing my knees at the moment with patellar tendonitis after practicing the olympic lifts 4 times a week! Your knees look in good shape!
well something is wrong with your form then.. Don't bounce at the bottom and shift the weight to the middle of the foot, not toward the toes. Rarely go heavy. Focus on speed, form and power. Don't do balistic movements such as plyometrics or olympic weightlifting on concrete or other hard floor.
I don't do "deep in bends"... I do squat once a week.
excellent pulls and push presses! you can squat a lot more than 400 lbs, though, eh? keep on truckin' bro i will put up some vids within the next few months.
Yes I do train with lighter loads earlier in the training cycle. But I don't necessarily do more reps. I do 3-6 most often but I'd rather do more sets. Like during this workout I did 4 sets of 3 reps for the snatch pulls and then 6 sets of 3 for the squat.
Thank you. Yes I've been exclusively conentrating on powerlifting during that time perriod. And the o'lifts are greatly impacted even though I haven't even done any. I need to work my way up, but I'm sure I can see an increase of 50lbs+ on each o'lift.
yes cause you start from a deadstart. No energy from the eccentric part like from the hang and no momentum like from the floor. However if you do a lot of blocks work, you must pay attention not to "stop" or slow down at the knees before the final acceleration.
No competition. I haven't done the full lifts forever cause I can't really drop the weights... But judging from the highpulls I should be able to snatch this bar. I will work my way up to a power snatch and power clean PR's.
so are you an oly lifter playing with body building/powerlifting, or a wanne be body builder who happens to be a pretty good oly lifter?

snatching and power cleaning from blocks requires more explosive strength doesnt it?

yes cause you start from a deadstart. No energy from the eccentric part like from the hang and no momentum like from the floor. However if you do a lot of blocks work, you must pay attention not to "stop" or slow down at the knees before the final acceleration.
