Craig Biggio certainly was the best I've seen. I remember this one time I was at a game, on Sept 28th, 2007, I was chanting for him. Shouting out, "Come on, Biggio!" And then I started chanting. "Biggio! Biggio! Biggio! Biggio!" For the first 30 seconds, the crowd around me was doing it too, and then it spreaded all over the stadium.
Anyways, Biggio was and always will be the best ever in the Astros.
One word. Gritty. Next to Darryl Kile, Biggio was my favorite Astros' player to watch. He had one of the quickest bats I've ever seen and his lead-off homeruns were amazing to watch.
I have him on my all time team at second base! He'll be playing with Lou Gehrig, Cal Ripken, and George Brett in the infield! And the best part is, he's the leadoff guy!
:18 These uniforms were the best!! I miss those. I miss the Astrodome even though I never went there to see them. Biggio is one the best players to ever play the game. Him and Baggie.
I am from Scotland. I came to Houston in '98to visit my cousin and she took me to an Astros game. It was Vs the Phillies and was Randy Johnsons first game in the Astrodome, I was hooked. I bought a top that had the #7 and 'Biggio' on the back. I bought a Texan flag and sewed in to the left sleeve :) At the time there was a famous Italian soccer player called Roberto Baggio. All the kids at school used to say 'you spelt Baggio wrong' I took great delight in telling my Astros story.
Craig Biggio is definitely one of the greatest persons ever played this game. He's just tremendously loyal, hard working, human and a big supporter of houston baseball.
Fortunately he's not leaving the Astros. he got a 3 year service contract - so the 'stros are gonna get a bunch of little biggios!
Over-rated mediocre player who turned his back on his own hometown...
A world-class douchebag...

#4 MLB all time doubles: behind Tris Speaker, Pete Rose, and Ty Cobb
#20 all time hits, right ahead of Rod Carew (above Bonds, Hornsby, Brock too)
#13 all time runs scored, above (#2 for 2nd basemen)
Only Rogers Hornsby got more hrs at 2nd base.

Nice tribute. But it should say 1988-2008 at the end. He played the entire 2008 season.

Shame on me. I somehow have that memory so fresh in my mind that I thought he still played last season. Thanks for the correction.
