FREAKIN AWESOME DUDE!!! and btw...your awesome for covering Stewart Copeland....he truly has madd skills, but is so sadly forgotten in the music world...
Phenomenal job on that song dude. That was one of the most entertaining versions of that song that I have ever seen. "You Da' Man". lol, No but seriously, you are an awesome drummer and I thank you for blessing us with being able to watch you put your talents to work, and not just seeing you teach all the time. I myself have been drumming for over 40 yrs now. I have done guest appearances with many top groups myself at times. I just play for GOD now though. GOD Bless Mike & take care.
The great Steewart Copeland! awesome job Mike, what a blast, this has been one of my favourite drum tracks of all time with those tricky snare & crash offbeats & I've never been able to understand what he was playing, this is way beyond my skill level at the moment but once again Mike, you've given me something very tangible to work on mate. Those cymbals are boooooooooootiful!!!!
hey mike! I've been following you almost a year! but I watched your videos at drumming system and you used all sabian cymbals... now I see you are using paiste... anyway you are a great drummer! keep uploading some free lessons of how to play famous songs... try a song from john bonham :)
Wow dude awesome! after my hero John Bonham Stewart Copeland has always my favourite drummer and to see his stuff put down on vid here is fantastic, thanks Michael, and yes Paiste Rock! Keep it up!
Memories, my band did this song in clubs in the 80's. I'm a drummer, nice job. Stewart Copeland was a big influence on me. Copeland at the time and still you can hear him and instantly recognize his sound and style. And yes Paste cymbals are awesome. Have been using them for over 30 yrs,
Mike, I love that Mini Bell... I'm a Sabian man myself but have always loved Paiste. So when you're ready, you can ship it to the UK for me ;-). Another gret video dude, all the best!
@HELLO9562 Absolutely... I'm just waiting for the remainder of my Paiste's to arrive, when they do, I'll be happy to do a Superkit Tour..... All the best
This is one of your best, if not your best cover so far! The sound balance between your drums and the song was very good, and you made it your own while still making it sound like Mr. Copeland! Fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
And yes, those Paiste cymbals sound GREAT. I'm a Sabian guy currently, but hmm, I think it may be time to re-address my cymbals!
I have a The Police song on my cover to-do list; we'll see when that happens. Thanks for the inspiration!
You Guys/Gals All ROCK!!!!! Thank you!!! Yes, I did sign my deal with Paiste this month... so far, a handful of my new cymbals arrived, some are on back order, but I should have them all by mid April (fingers crossed).... Amazing Cymbals and Amazing people who run that company.... I should appear on their artist list shortly.
I will also be hosting Yamaha/Paiste/Evans/Vic Firth Clinics in North America soon! hope to meet you all someday! Happy Drumming! Mike
@mikemichalkowdrums Glad to hear Mike! People like you really deserve to drum as only job and passion. Are you planning any band/other type by your own material or just stay with awesome covers and lessons? Btw isn`t your snare stand a little too shaky :)? Cheers mate!
I not only favorited this video, i also downloaded it so if youtube ever goes up in flames or even the internet for that matter i'll always have a note-perfect audio/visual represenation of whatever crazy fuckin' acid trip stewie must have been on when he laid down the track for this song. Perfect man! and i mean perfect!!
amazing...wish I had the technical skills you have...
