ceodez....On September 19, 1997 Rich Mullins and his friend Mitch McVicker were traveling on I-39 north of Bloomington, Illinois to a benefit concert in Wichita, Kansas when his Jeep flipped over. Neither of the two wore a seat belt and both were thrown from the vehicle. Shortly after Rich and Mitch were thrown out of the Jeep a passing tractor-trailer swerved to avoid the Jeep. Rich was too injured to move out of the way and died instantly from his injuries when the truck hit him.
@txcoyote1963 .....McVicker was badly injured but survived.
His funeral was open to the public and had a massive gathering. He is buried in the Harrison Township Cemetery in Hollansburg, Ohio, alongside his baby brother who died as an infant and his father.[
this was shot weeks before Rich lost his battle with a terminal illness....that first song i am sure he is showing a little of the effects of his pain meds......i believe it was cancer?
To those of you arguing: Go to the previous video (Concert part 5) and actually listen to the part where he talks about why proof-texting is a dangerous thing.
The bible says the you should worship on the seventh day and in the bible the seventh day is Saturday and in the beginning God blessed the seventh day. I don't care how many people go to church on Sunday I will do what God tells me to do.
I remember the night I heard about Rich's passing. It was a Sunday night and my husband told me and all I could say "nooooo" I know he is in Heaven making music but its hard for the rest of us on earth. I have a dear friend who passed away a few years ago. She was gifted in music and i wonder if they are making music.
Going to heaven immediately on death kind of defeats the purpose of judgment day. The people that I know that believe that way say it is because they can't believe God would let them sit in the grave until the end, which is shallow minded to say the least.
I am sorry to say, but I think your friend will have to wait until heaven to see the reunion of the Rich Mullins band.
y'know...there are a lot of different positions on this, and they can all back their position with scripture. I believe that wherever there is room to argue, just leave the answer to God and get on with the loving each other part. That's one of the nondebatable commands. Enjoy the music and praise God, brother or sister!
Actually, there is a way that Rich would be in Heaven right now. God exists outside of time, so He can easily still have a judgment day, yet still have Rich in heaven...in fact if you can believe that, you might be in heaven right now singing along :)
The Bible is not cut and dry on this issue and in fact has verses that seem to support both view points. People who claim to have it all worked out need to be very careful. Until we die, we likely will not know exactly how everything works out. Verses that contradict your view are in Ecclesiastes (the spirit returning to God), Paul says "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". Revelation talks about the souls under the altar. Both 'views' are in 1Thes 4.
I don't think many of you would really like Rich Mullins. He was not one to learn on indoctrination as you have. He believe the sabattah was on Saturday. Most of you probably don't even know what that means.
We are not God. We do not exist outside of time.
The creator of this universe is not inconsistent. It is just misinterpreted. You have sinned against the Bible when you leave out "We are confident, I say, and WILLING rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
Dude, their is one view, God's view, and the very reason that we get deceived is all the reason to do what Jesus said and "make sure that no man deceives you". Even though 'westcott and hordt took out from the received Word of God handed down to us made to be the NIV. We have so much cross refferences to read from. "My Word shall be established by 3 or 4 witnesses" says Almighty God. So no one need be deceived what Jesus really meant when He said, "in the world ye shall have tribulation, but...
abishag284, not sure where your argument is with me, I agree with your statements, and even more so with God's view and the Bible. I do not recall mentioning the NIV or Westcott and Hordt, so have no idea what you are refering to.
On the 2nd song, people are returning to their seats. After the 1st song on this post there was a break (notice Rich and the band leaving) Homeless man was the 1st song of his second set.
Yeah - at the beginning they couldn't agree on what rhythm they were in. As a worship leader, I understand this happens sometimes, even with stuff that everyone knows and can play perfectly. Sometimes a simple drum beat will just sound different in your ears than it ever has before and you can get off on the wrong foot apart from the rest of your band. Even geniuses make mistakes.
Someone should make a movie on Rich's life (I don't mean Homeless Man) I mean a movie movie. I've got the perfect guy to play Rich Mullins......Todd Agnew! I think it'd be a great movie...wishful thinking but man Rich's life was so adventurous, I miss him making music
As a matter of fact, I've gone to the web site mentioned and I plan to purchase the dvd as soon as I have the extra money but I wouldn't have even known about it had I not stumbled across it here. So thanks to both of you guys for this treasure and the opportunity to have it with me always. Peace.
Kind of harsh jedjrks. Not what I'd expect from someone associated with Rich. Then again I don't know that you're associated with him, maybe just like making people feel bad.
Hey everyone! If you love Rich Mullins and his ministry, why not support it? This dvd is available from his foundation and proceeds go to carry on his work! Go to kidbrothers dot org.
I miss Wayne so much!
I know you are singing in heaven next to God. See you there buddy!

Oh, You did not have a home
There were places You visited frequently
You took off Your shoes and scratched Your feet
'Cause you knew that the whole world belongs to the meek
But You did not have a home
No, You did not have a home And You did not take a wife
There were pretty maids all in a row
Who lined up to touch the hem of Your robe
But You had no place to take them, so You did not take a wife There were pretty maids all in a row
