Even though what I said in previous comment, Greece should focus on peace.I believe the focus of Greeks should be things like Education,Commerce, and fixing its economy.I havent been to Greece in a long time I dont know what its like, but I also believe in a close communtiy where citizens just dont think of themselve's but also think of thier fellow Greek nieghbors.Kennedy said to Americans ask not what your country can give you,but what U can give to UR country.Greeks think about it
Well its in the Bible that Ephesus is a Greek colony.I dont know much and I dont claim to know much, but I believe that the Romans and Greeks were related thats my opinion. The Romans excepted everything that is Greek, things from relgion, building styles, art, science and so forth. We were brothers, and brought the world much. Many ethinic countrys would like to change Greece's role in history and where its inhabitians lived for centurys ,because they are gealous and living on stolen land.
Keep up the good work, with enduring and not growing weary. Get back to the love you've once had, so the lampstand will remain. The end of nicolaus is near!
@cypriot1965 what do u mean??? that we will let u enslave our islands or Trace??? If i have to fought for Greece, i will do it Moggol..Do u know Isaak and Solomou, Moggol?? @cypriot1965 I am a woman.U r not Cypriot.U r a colonist from turkey.U took Cyprus by violence..Killing, stealing, raping..This is ur culture..The only indigenous population r Greek Cypriots..Cyprus was an ancient Hellenic island..U came from Moggolia thousand years later..And YES, U HAVE DESTROYED AG. SOFIA and turned Christian Churches into stable..When u realised that Hellenic antiquities r bringing money to u , u manage for their conservation..That is not a fairy tale..Those r facts moggol.
my beautiful Έφεσος..my ancestors city..how lovely these monuments r holding out..!! there r bringing money to turkish thats why they keep them..unfortunately they caused damage in Αγία Σοφία..when we were captive to them, they wanted to destroy Παρθενώνα and make guns but greeks gave them guns to avoid sth terrible like that..Can u imagine??? gave guns to our executioners.. my ancestors were so unique..
"Greco-roman"?? Come on you guys, read some history... Ephesus was a Greek-founded city... Herodotous says that, Thoukididis too, even the writing on the marbes is Greek..
hahhaha it is obvious that you did not visit ephesus. everywhere there are historical billboards which explains the history of the city. and in all of them it's written for thousands of times. I think you want the Turkish governent to put a Greek state flag to there huh ?

I'm very sorry. I have to say you must have never open a history book in your life! The name of the city is Ephesos and not Ephesus, because it's an ancient Greek city, not Roman! It's more than obvious! Don't you see the Greek rhythm of the buildings? Ephesos was founded around 700 BC when Romans came in that area after 100 BC! So, how is this city Greco-Roman? Would you like me to call Houston an Apache-American city?? Los Angeles a Mexican-American city? Or Boston, an Irish-American city?
In two years of this discussion obviously nothing I do will satisfy everyone. For any ancient city more than one influence from different eras is likely. Responding to comments I chose "Greco-Roman" as most appropriate.
@ANDENEX I Have to honestly say Houston Apache-American city, Los Angeles Mexican-American city and Boston Irish-American city all makes sence. Because those places were inhabited by those people before United States came on the scene. Im a Bronx New York Native so I would not be offended at all. Thats like saying United States is America when in Truth It Is of America. That means it belongs to America. Its Not America On Its Own. Its Been America Long Before United States Came In The Picture
The greco-roman culture left a lot of monuments all over the medditeranean, many of them out of Greece and Italy, in countries like Turkey, Cyprus, Syria, Israel, Egypt, etc. about this specific site, its nice that turks maintain it so everybody can visit it and admire the Greco-Roman culture.
I assume you are referring to the opening music, which is standard in my videos for nearly anything related to the Roman Empire. It is the March of the Charioteers from the film Ben-Hur.
Good vid Intrep. What time of year did you make it? I've been there twice and could barely move it was so crowded. Founded by Hellenistic colonists, but still being built on and added to right into imperial Roman and byzantine times. I'm looking forward to going there again in a year or so. Pity some people cant appreciate a fine historical site without adverse comments
This trip was in Spring, late April to early May of 1995. I always try to avoid the Summer season for many reasons, including both crowds and high temperatures.

only when u go there can u see how brilliant and huge this city was. turkeys so underrated there are so many more ancient sites.

I agree that the video is what it is. Why not just thank the photographer for posting it and appreciate it for its historical. Who cares who controls Ephesus now. That stuff all occured thousands of years ago.....so what!! We here in the USA tell the rest of the world to stop your damn arguing and fighting with each other over what happened centuries ago. Grow Up!!!
Epesus is a Turkish city now, so gayreeks get over it. it is located in the bourders of Turkey and that makes it our city, we had greece in the palm of our hands at the ottoman empire time but we dont say that the greece belongs to Turks, so just shut up and enjoy the view.
I know Ephesus is currently under gayturkish occupation, I'm just pointing out the fact that Turks don't like using the name Greek when refering to Anatolia's ancient and medieval heritage because they feel uncomfortable with the fact that they committed genocide and brutal oppression in the process of stealing it.
you will take ephesus back from who? from turks? xaxaxa elaaa malaka this is really a dream come to the real world back please YOU NEED EGGES to take ephesus back
