seriously people, hes a fuckin' legend. this was the time for him to say whatever he goddamn wanted and im glad he did, hes earned it. i appreciated the lightheartedness and i think the audience wasnt so much offended as just taken off guard. they clearly expected a "deep" "personal" and "moving" speech as well.

incredible actor, De Niro is right up there as one of the best ever and certainly one of my favourite actors, just a shame he has watered down his career with some below average movies in the past 15 years, a bit like Pacino....i was surprised there weren't longer clips for The Deer Hunter, Meet The Parents, Untouchables, Heat, The Mission and in particular, Once Upon A Time In America..what a career and pleased he said Awakenings was one of his favourite films, one of his best performances!
