  • at 1:15 when i do this my emulator wont come up. instead a box pops up saying, "No compatible targets were found. Do you wish to add a new Android Virtual Device?" my phone is plugged in as well. btw im using a nexus s by samsung off sprint

  • @jmj9595 Looks like you are creating a project that has a higher platform than your emulator. (for ex, when you created the project, you chose 3.0 and when you set up the emulator, you set the emulator to 2.2 or something). if you want to be able to run it on your phone, check out our site, mybringback(dot)com and go the blog section > Travis' android help > running on phone

  • @jmj9595 What he meant was click on Android Application, but he said click on Java Application.

  • It doesnt let me start the project: cant start because of errors in my project (i didnt change anything to the original/basic/standart code!!!) when i look at the error it says, it cant find the source jar or zip file -> i give him the path to android.jar but the error doesnt vanish...what should i do?

"The source attachment does not contain the source for the file Activity.class. You can change the source attachment by clicking the Change Atteched Source below:"

  • I just put the android-sdk-windows in the wrong folder, it should be in your main drive, mine's C:

  • @auki110 you've probably got a space in your sdk location. Try using C:\PROGRA~1\ instead of C:\Program Files\ or C:\PROGRA~2\ if you're running x64-Windows and your SDK is in C:\Program Files (x86)\. Of course this works for other folders, such as C:\Documents and Settings\ (C:\DOCUME~1\)

  • @Robbinski14 im using x64-Windows and i have this problem.. :/

  • @ilovemyung if u have this problem too, put this in the path C:\PROGRA~2\Android\android-sdk

  • @ilovemyung sorry where do i need to enter this? im kinda new with eclipse

  • I'm glad i purchased an Android phone, I have a slow computer so it's a big difference between using the emulator and running it on the phone.

  • How do you make it run on your actual phone... i have version 2.2 andriod

  • @Blitzz117 It'll automatically run on your phone. All I had to do is plug in my phone and run as android application and it ran on my phone.

  • fantastic, gonna follow all of them..

  • *yawn*, Nice information and the way your going might be good but you have to try and make the learning expirience more fun. Like maybe add some mild music in the background, make some funny jokes etc. Im not saying your video is bad or anything, it just needs to be a bit more spiced up.

  • tnx.. good video :D

XML sounds so simple after this video xD

  • You got me confused there, just like albumingglobulin said, YOU said Java application but clicked on Android Application...lol

  • hey, at 1.03 you say Java Application but you choose Android Application, is this an error? or you submit on keyboards as shortpath*

  • @albuminglobulin yea sorry about that, you want to click Android Application, Sometimes I have difficultly multitasking two simple things, such as talking and clicking. lol

  • @CornboyzAndroid Please Help me out with the error :

Emulator] invalid command-line parameter: files. Emulator] Hint: use '@foo' to launch a virtual device named 'foo'.
