I dont think we are giving anything away by doing tutorial videos or gig logs. The ppl who wanna DJ will, and those fence sitters will be selling their gear on ebay shortly after they realize that this does take work and you can only fake the funk so long
man as a DJ people dont understand we run a business. i can understand why people are mad when we are undercut by younger DJ with expensive equipment and no DJ experience. we veterans got to teach these younger DJ and bottom feeders!! leave it to the pro!!
Great video Jasper. Very good points, I especially like what you said about younger or inexperienced dj's making mistakes doesn't only make them look bad, but all of us, it is true. And yeah there is so much more work that goes into each gig, I prepare for hours each week going over new music, making playlists that suite each client, getting the gear ready for the next gig, meeting with new clients, meeting with existing clients before their event etc, there is a ton of work we all don't see.
Very well said. When I know i have a gig coming up, I buy and upgrade all my music, I double check all my equipment, I order props with time, and i make sure I'm ready to rock out the event. I setup without rushing so i have everything perfectly right. While people dance, I get this feeling like "im rocking out this party!" and its the best feeling ever. Being a young Dj, my prices are just right. I take my whole equipment into consideration, and i have made my profit on my equipment already!
Lol yeah that looked creepy, i thought the same thing too. But yeah, very well said both of you. I don't vlog because I'm not good at giving advise so I leave that to guys like you two and others of course that do it well.
Great video, you have some very good points.I am a younger dj but every single pary i do i aryve 2 hours earlyer i make sure everything is good and i do my best so everyone dance.I love deejay and i plan on doing it for thre rest of my life with a second job mayb arkitect or loyar but dj is in me i love to makepeoplew dancer and the felling u get wen everyone is dancin even wen they come up to u and r like great job brian and they ask for a busines card thats like the best felling ever.
Very true and then its the way all those little things are put together the timing of those items knowledge equipment style consideration and the arrangement of these things this ability is what makes a pro. I think anyway. Great point of view.
Lot of good points my man, great video information. keep spinning:)
