  • Actually, the first version of "Casinao Royale" was made for American television in 1954 for "Climax" on CBS. Barry Nelson played an American James (Jimmy) Bond opposite Peter Lorre's Le Chiffre.

The first official James Bond film was "Doctor No" (1962) starring Sean Connery.

The version of "Casino Royale" you posted was a spoof of the 007 films.

  • In '67, Lazenby would have been considered British.

  • Actually it would have been the fifth since Dr. No - the film was released just a few months before You Only Live Twice. However, there had been a TV version of it made in 1954 with Barry Nelson (I think) as James Bond.

  • It was about the sixth James Bond film ever made. It came just before 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' the only film starring a non British Bond, George Lazenby. I'm sure you know the order of the bond films, the last Connery one came after the Lazenby one.

  • Actually, the 1967 Casino Royale was the predecessor to Austin Powers. The first Bond film was Dr. No.
