Its from a movie whose name escapes me every time. Its about a girl whose mother dies riding or something and how she goes to work at a stable and somehow she gets this horse either she raised it or something and well when it grew up she trained it to beat her sister bfs horse which is an endurance horse. the girls name is like virginia or something.

Nope. I just watched the movie Virginia's Ride and that horse wasn't in it. There was no eventing plus the horse from the movie had a darker mane and tail. Really cute horse and am dying to know wat movie it did acutally come from.

The rider is from Sweden, and I guess the horse is sweedish to. I don't know, but if you know who Astrid Lingren is, she has written about "Maride". In sweden she is called "Madicken" and maybe the horse got it's name by the charackter in Astrid Lingrens books about Maride.

question: why do xc riders stay so far back over jumps that dont have a drop after them, like didnt the "discover" like 50 yrs ago that you ahve to stay in motion w/your horse by staying forward until the landing phase of the jump?

Well, xc riders lean back when there's a drop after the jump so that they don't fall off and it's easier on the horse. it's just like riding down a hill: do you lean forward? or do you lean backward? it's easier on the horse if you lean backwards and you have more balance control.
