Look everyone we are ALL BEING ROBBED somehow by politicians, record companies, oil companies, gas giants, electric companies, square cynics in blasted suits FFS and religious figures and I cannot be BOTHERED going on.
All I can ask is... why can't they at least TRY and aspire to be heroes and JUST LEAVE our music and websites ALONE? I can't find this in the shops.
YouTube looks ugly with the new channels.
What the bloody HELL happened to freedom of expression and the WorldWideWeb?
I am mostly an aficionado of instrumental music with some of my favorites being, 'Any Colour You Like'(Pink Floyd); 'Moments in Love'(The Art of Noise); 'Compassion'(Spirit of Eden); 'La Bikina'(various instrumental versions); and especially, 'Sun Gate' by Tangerine Dream. I prefer instrumentals because i have found that the voice(the ego) tends to get in the way, although there are exceptions. This song, 'An Elegant Chaos,' by Julian Cope is one such exception. It is incredibly soothing.
people have called me an old man for liking this stuff, im only 23 for gods sake people this is just pure class how many people today write songs about real stuff and actually put the time into writing the music not just playing on a computer program. this music will never die and rightly so
I feel guilty for removing you from my friends a year back. I'm just like that right across the board. Sorry. I've got to re- upload vids and I'm bloody tired of making vids private /public.
@oogie11 How badly do you want this album. I think I have them all, even his new album "The Unruly Imagintion". I've been a fan of his work since he began way back with Ian McCulloch all those years ago. Just like Ian McCulloch he is also a lyricist genius. you can email me " stevemcquarrie@hotmail.co.uk " and tell me what you want.
@StevieMac1234 Awww, that is very sweet of you :) I'm sure I will get them at one point. Yeah, I've loved his music since my mid-teens, Teardrop Explodes and solo. I didn't know that he had a new album out, thanks for telling me that...I see he's covering Gang of Four, wow, one of me fav bands of all time. Oooh, yes, Ian McCulloch...I mean, the fact that Cope and McCulloch and Wylie were in a band together is magical :)
Julian Cope..you are the man...What a great singer and song writer..I tip my hat to you, sir....You are more appreciated than you know..Thanks for the tune...
i went to see him in edinburgh about 8 years ago . it was the worst gig i have ever been to. he was doing this poetry in between songs . everyone was thinking what the fucks this all about . don`t get me wrong he was good when he sang but the crowd were bored stiff and were leaving in their droves . i left after 45 mins . a night with julian cope that was the tour. never again. i also seen the teardrop explodes in dundee 80`s they were great. what happened julian? cut the poetry crap just sing.
@mikeyFTP What did you expect an interval and half a lager? Julian Cope isn't Howard Jones or Nick Kershaw the ones that left dont get it, when you go to see Julian Cope expect Julian Cope, thats why you go and see julian cope.
Julian Cope was such an under-rated performer of the 80s.
I purchased a number of his albums , even when he was with Teardrop Explodes and was never disappointed with any of them. Also saw Teardrop in concert in Brighton.
one hell ov a good track .world shut your mouth, the album.how i waited for this.first one for jules on his own.bandys first jump started it off and what a bang.....lunatic an firepistol ended it and made way for the next if not the best in my case the most beautifull album ever! FRIED. :)
People I see just remind me of mooing like a cow on the grass, and that's not to say that there's anything wrong with being a cow anyway, but people are people with the added advantage of the spoken word, we're getting on fine, but I feel more of a man when I get with the herd. Quality..
ah jehovahkill is a great album man, my favourite. interpreter also is great, if kind of unfashionable in the production stakes. and some of the more recent ones have some great tracks on. he is yet to lose his touch, imho. best is teardrop up to jehovahkill though, with a few glitches in the middle.
it is a bit of a slow starter actually so can see why may not have grabbed you on first listen, but i feel it carries on and develops the spirit of peggy suicide.
@jonahstevenson I prefer " Poet is Priest " great little book wth that CD aswelll. I use to have "JEHOVAKILL" on vynal but with all moving I've done I lost it somewhere so had to replace with cd. As its done in phases the double album on vynal was only on 3 sides. I couldn't find the vynal to replace it with though.
see no dislikes - Julian Cope is a genius! Everyone i played his music to became big fans, how could you not like this?!

One of my favorite songs of all time. Neat lyrics chalking our go-round on this berg. Utterly unknown here in the States, it seems.

One thing about Copey though is - he will always suprise,
will give Jehovakill another spin.
