  • Very good video, Can you tell me as it is called the song and the artist?, Thank you very much and Happy New Year.

  • that dude trained me when i was a kid. he still moves good

  • Wow, I was really impressed with the sword demonstration. The slashes and swings looked like they would be very heavy blows. Very fluent, looks good (note that I am not even a beginner on this, so I just go with my gut feeling)

  • awesome video. whats the song?

  • I will not tolerate insults to me and my friends. If I wanted to I could delete all your posts. As long as you don't insult, I won't delete. If you call me a cult member again, I will delete everything you ever posted.

I have no interest in the history of martial arts, so if you want to talk about it fine, but I will not participate in the discussion.

  • @MoutnainViewKSW

I have some questions. You have a Web page of your training hall and advertise for students through the site. Your youtube channel displays the link. And your KSW site says "What is KUK SOOL WON?... For more information about Kuk Sool Won, please visit the following links:... Kuk Sool Won History". That clearly guides people who are interested in martial arts in the link.

  • The people who don't know that martial art didn't exist in Korea read your Web page, however, the "history" is complete bullshit from top to bottom. You say you have no interest in the history of martial arts, but your students have signed up for your KSW course on seeing your Web page. It's irresponsible, don't you think? You say to us that you will not participate in the discussion, but do you think your students are able to accept that?

  • @HaedongKumdoIsaLie Yes we are.

And now, please, stop attaking kuk sool won videos with your questions. because you don't want to get information. Just forgot about your Japanese patriotism for a moment. Don't you see... That we, true kuk sool won practicers are very united?

  • @MulthybridGodKyrNair "you don't want to get information"

You are talking about you yourself. Some time ago you couldn't come up with a single argument against me.

    /watch?v=Y3-hkOoqg6w

I brought up original sources in Japan, China, the West, and Korea, on the other hand you only traces Korean fabrication. First, you set out historical sources that prove Korean martial arts have been handed down from person to person.

  • "Just forgot about your Japanese patriotism for a moment"

Are you saying that Japanese must not expose Korean lies about Japanese history and martial arts, and have to accept Korean distorted nationalism? Nothing doing. Don't foist your pitiable thought.

  • @HaedongKumdoIsaLie "you couldn't come up with a single argument against me" -> I Could you just don't listen. "you don't want to get information" oh, I'm wrong?

Then I admire you for being so interested in Korean martial arts and just respect it.

It's easy man. Stop. Your taunts is like fight the wind.

You're gona become tired, and we are just going to avoid you. If we are blind, let us be blind. If you're blind, we will let you blid, after all the words we've shared. That's all, goodbye.

  • @MoutnainViewKSW you clamp down on japanese opinions.why you can't notice you have been brainwashed from korean counter? you devote your life to kuk sool won,but you can't wear the gold ribbon eternally.since you are not suh family.you will be disfavor from suh family.its unbelievable in japanese martial art world.if your techniques are excellent,we would not over ask the fake detail..but there are serious inconsistency in kuk sool won techniques...i will explain its next time.

  • @MoutnainViewKSW hi,Jeff san,i am very disappointed you.why you delete my comments?i think i explained the problem of kuk sool won in essence,i have been studying why they make up their fake history and deformed and making the conflicted techniques. you had graduated Stanford, but you can't understand the motto that "Die Luft der Freiheit weht." means "The wind of freedom blows."

  • Background of Korean martial arts

    watch?v=_Xz_6MUYHcM

  • @nazrobaj then both northern kungfu had developed their techniques that most of the time except an acute situation they should not take passivity techniques.and cover their medulla spinalis.in japan there is a humid subtropical climate (温暖湿潤気候),then the ground is grass and softly.then we can roll over without hesitance and balance out the force of enemy.if you roll over on the blacktop road with fun,its dangerous.the difference attitude is in car design too.

  • @nazrobaj you mentioned "any techniques are bound to be similar, if not the same."really? if you learn martial art,you can see into the martial arts in the world connect with the weather, climate, geography, history and philosophy.i think kuk sool won mixes propriety with Chinese wushu as the finishing pause and the gripping techniques(関節技) are from aikido(合気道)or jyujyutsu(柔術).in china, its drying and amount of rainfall is a few, then the ground is bareness and hardly.

  • @nazrobaj Brazilian capoeira is based from tragedy slave trade in Age of Geographical Discovery.and japanese kendo,iaido,jyudo,jyu-jyutsu,aikido,karate are based on zen(禅)or bushido(武士道).the attitude of these traditional martial arts are inherited through generations from in each families like as nation or army.

  • @nazrobaj Chinese wushu, kanfu,Taijiquan are connected with Acupuncture(鍼灸) or Chinese Herbology(漢方) by Qigong(気功).Indian Kalaripayattu is followed by Indian traditional medical;aayurveda,Turkey Yagli Gures is throught in israrm,French fencing, broad sword and ecu of England or German have European swordsmanship(騎士道),American cowboy have horsemanship and pioneer spirits.

  • @nazrobaj martial arts or traditional dance are involved in philosophy, religion, medical, climate and bodily habitus of species, obviously their history.the origin is recognized in ancient Egypt by mural painting and customs of moderns Egyptian people.ancient Greece is said as hometown of modern sports,Pankration was played in Greece or Italy at Rome era, then developed as Wrestling in Europe.philosopher platon participated in Olympia or Isthmian games.

  • @nazrobaj human body is constituted simply, but all the more ancient Greece thought that there is many possibilities in cosmo.human body have 206 bones, skeletal muscles of about 400,and some of the viscera from anatomy.from Chinese Yin and yang medical, there have 361 acupressure points, and a lot of sick have been not solved like as cancer, hiv, rheumatism, partial paralysis even today developed medical.

  • @nazrobaj i think you and them are very nice people, but are you sure if your friends have imitation bag and budget which pretended bland CHANEL,BVLGARI,HERMES,GUCCI,Dior etc? just copied better is well, but its deformed...korea product a lot of imitation of the blands. EU customs seized korean imitation bag value about $30,000,000 in 2009 for only one year.

  • @nazrobaj hi,you mentioned that"As cultures meet, so does an exchange of information."i agree with you.for example, japan and US exchange our culture each other, then can japan copy windows os and sell named like "mado" means window,as our own products ? it is tasted with japanese traditional wasabi then "mado"os is truely japanese culture!!is it right as followed your mentioned.

  • @nazrobaj if they don't want to be put unfavorable comments, they should not use youtube as exploitation.martial arts, consciousness, history are deeply connected.the movie owner had graduated in Stanford uv,then he understands what i am saying.i will explain that japan had not imposed to change name to korean at all in amalgamated age(併合時代) later.we are just gathering the data, just moment pls.

  • @nazrobaj quote from kuk sool won website "hey even suppressed Hangul (the Korean language) making Japanese the official spoken language. Needless to say, the traditional martial arts of Korea were also banned. "what the such fact was existed? banned hangul, its korean by themselves.japan rather use and spread hangul to educate both japanese and korean.fraud korean!!

  • Well, I used Kuk Sool Won in a street fight outside of a club. And no, I did not dance. Lol. A simple side kick to the chest and a take down was all it took when he grabbed me after I let him get up after the kick due to me not river dancing in his head. It's the user. Not the martial art.

  • @reddyreddknova hi,kuk sool won gets in Buddhist mediation Zen(禅),the precept is that denial against sword and force, finding the way to solve the problem not using struggle.why did you kick? i think korean don't have philosophical construct.since in aikido(合気道) or shoriji kempo(少林寺拳法),if we were found in fighting with fun we would be ban. don't you have your philosophy as martial artist(武道家)?

  • @sakura0jp0aikidodesu It was purely self defense dude. Trust me on that. The guy was sober and starting trash with everyone over a series of months. From jumping people with other people to cutting a guy head with a glass bottle. I even asked him if he really wanted to do it. I'm sure if he ran up to you that you would have done the same thing. I saw the guy later and he remembered me but he didn't try anything ever again with me or anyone else. So I think it's better he got his ass kicked

  • @reddyreddknova hi,firstly i'm happy i heard you were safety not get injury.but if you have a time, you should call police.its your civic duties.then he might be able to take counseling and treatment,or not occurred the big crime.also there is not existed any kick in self defense technique as long as i know.what do kuk sool won teachers teach?

  • @reddyreddknova also if he had a gun then if you can survive at first shouting by chance, later would be psychological warfare.keeping mind is most important in using martial art.in actual attack, its not useful.

  • @sakura0jp0aikidodesu Than eventually running on someone with a pistol and then he may never had learned or even lived.

  • if you can believe it,korean have banned speaking japanese and japanese culture till 1998.even today they have a law that "pro-Japanese politicians" to "pro-Japanese collaborators"that korea can confiscate all of asset of Chinilpa, people friendly to Japan (親日派).then they are making up their history or renamed to like hapkido, taekondo, yudo, kumdo from aikido, karate, jyudo, kendo.

  • moreover The Bodo League massacre (保導連盟事件),about 20-120 millions people had massacred allege communists.in the chaos, many people who attended familiar with japan, they had killed in public execution.the movies are too much savagery,caution...if you are not 20years,don't watch.

  • in Korean War (朝鮮戦争1950- 1953),us soldier had fallen about 40,000,both north or south korean soldier and citizens had died about 200 million...when japanese ruled in korea, korean peninsula was peaceful till the end of ww2.even in the war, korea was not action aria.then my grandmother was surprised seeing the burnt ruins when came back to japan.

  • i tried karate first but its strictly for me.i had never known aikido till then, its was minor arts at that time.and spent about 20 years but its shortly.almost korean martial arts have contrariety and Unfinished.since a lot of korean real budoka(martial artist 武道家) had fallen in ww2 as soldiers of korean-japanese empire.and as little as possible surviving had killed by own country.

  • @hiisuoosezi hi,thank you for your mail.i was busy for studying about concernment between korea and japan history that you mentioned.. to learn art catalyst is simplicity.i was very very pretty girl when came to Tokyo entered into university,a lot of old men touch me in train.i hate japanese men, rather younger are chivalrous, but about 30-60 years who are called the generation after WW2 are molester.then i had been learning aikido,

  • "If you actually read all of this then thank you for completing this little novella of mine. And thank you for keeping the discussion at a civil level. I admire the Japanese arts and their lineage the same as I admire the Chinese, Korean, Mediterranean, and Western Renaissance arts. You should also note a saying "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.""

  • "The same argument of martial lineage could also be said of Japan. Okinawan Karate is traced back to the shaolin temple in china. Karate is a vastly modified form of chinese kung fu. Kung Fu can be traced back to just being a modified form of Indian and Mongolian Arts. The point I am getting at is that every martial art comes from somewhere and has to start sometime."

  • "Kumdo is just Kendo. There are really only so many ways to swing a sword, and not much point in changing what already works well.

The actual fraudulent claims are not from the entirety of Korean arts but of certain individuals and branches. If you want to complain about fraudulent claims then go to the ones making them, not just the country's martial arts as a whole."

  • "Hapkido is from the combination of Japanese Aikido and Jujutsu. It also draws on the korean system of Yu Sool "Soft techniques". The same techniques are found throughout the world. The Japanese were not the only ones to teach joint locks and throws."

  • "Tae-kwon-do is the result of combining the art of Karate that many Korean martial artists learned with their own arts from their resurgence after WWII. The reason TKD and Karate look different is from cultural requirements of their own arts. The Okinawan people wanted an art that was direct and simple. The Koreans wanted a more showy style that has jumps, spins, and flourishes."

  • "The arts of WTF tae-kwon-do (which is more sport like than a martial art.) and some Hapkido masters as well as some Kumdo masters claim that those arts are from ancient Korea. They would be lying."

  • "These are the three segments of Korean martial arts history from which the techniques of Kuk Sool are said to be derived. This system looks like others such as Chinese Kung Fu and Japanese Jujutsu because those countries have always traded between each other, so ideas, cultures, and martial arts were shared. This is also why things such as writing, clothing, and religion are so similar in that area."

  • "Now back to the modern day. The origins of Kuk Sool date back to the very beginning of Korea, starting with "Sah Doh Mu Sool" which means family or tribal martial art. The next martial art to develop was "Koong Joong Mu Sool," or "Royal Court Martial Art." Shortly afterwards came "Bull Gyo Mu Sool," which refers to the martial arts practiced in the Buddhist temples during ancient times. "

  • "Here is a photo of a name change bulletin from the Taikyu Court:

    /wikipedia/commons/7/73/Japanese_Name_Change_Bulletin_of_Taikyu_Court_.jpg

This information I have gathered is taught in World History classes from school that delve into that subject. I have also looked to official online encyclopedias, not only Wikipedia which is not the most accurate of sites since only popular articles are checked for ultimate accuracy."

  • "The changing of Korean surnames to more Japanese sounding names was encouraged but not necessarily required. Although not changing your name could result in being turned away from Japanese employers and in extreme cases even beatings from Japanese nationalists."

  • "The Japanese language and Kanji were taught in Korean schools along with the history of the Japanese empire but not of their native Korea. Loyalty to the Japanese emperor was taught as well as prayer at Shinto shrines."

  • "The Korean language was prevented not mainly in the spoken and written form of adults because it would be impossible to enforce that on a country, but in the education of their children going through schools that were then controlled by the Japanese government overseeing the annexation of Korea. "

  • "Modern Korean arts that popped up such as tang soo do (A predecessor of TKD) were not banned because they did not claim ancient Korean heritage, so the Japanese didn't see them as promoting Korean nationalistic views."

  • "One of the agendas enforced were the banning of traditional Korean martial arts. They were encouraged to study Japanese and even western arts such as sport boxing, but their own traditional arts were outlawed to prevent the spread of possible nationalism. It was not to prevent them from learning fighting styles to defend themselves. Although traditional Korean arts were still practiced in secret."

  • "Japan brought Korea out of a period of isolation which was similar to what America did to Japan, and what Japan did to America. Korea's economy then went through drastic changes. Japan helped Korea go though multiple stages of then modern technology at an accelerated rate. But the ruling of Korea was often harsh and extraterritorial rights (Citizens from the ruling nation are held above the law. Think of it as an extreme form of foreign dignitary rights.) were granted to Japanese citizens."

  • "The evidence towards Japanese oppression of Koreans during that period is founded on multinational historical documentation of third party countries (At that time passive countries interested in what was happening such as Russia, England, and America.) and the Koreans themselves. The policies shown by Japan's colonization of other areas attest to the nature of their ruling. Although not everything was bad. "

  • "I am also a former tae-kwon-do practitioner and my teacher's master was the student of original tae-kwon-do teachers in Korea when the art came into its modern name. I have heard him speak of growing up learning martial arts during the Japanese occupation from the result of the Sino - Japanese War."

  • hank you for having a civil discussion with me about this subject.I am not a Kuk Sool Won student, but I am a Wing Chun Kung Fu and Kali student taught by a 3rd generation Sifu from the grandmaster Ip man. I also plan on beginning a mixture of Northern Shaolin/Norther Praying mantis kung fu.My interest in Korean martial history is because I am a hobbyist of ancient military history from around the world.

  • @Trances81 thank you for your described mail.its for pribate, but i think your mentioned is representative as US people.many japanese don't know about opinions in oversea.could i publish it.

    Why Kuk Sool Won?

    /watch?v=m4Y2kvoexLw

  • quote from kuk sool won history,"They even suppressed Hangul (the Korean language) making Japanese the official spoken language. Needless to say, the traditional martial arts of Korea were also banned."

  • quote from kuk sool won history on website "Many events led up to the formation of the current martial art system known as Kuk Sool Won?, but perhaps the best place to begin would be 1910, with the dissolution of the Korean Royal Court by the occupying Japanese forces. During this period of foreign rule (from 1910 until the end of World War II), the Japanese attempted to suppress virtually every aspect of Korean culture and replace it with their own."

  • and Philippine adopt english as their official language.although they have own language,Tagalog, but they separated 80 or more language, like Ilokano,Cebuano,Kapampangan,Bicolan.they are very difference by each tribes, then they could not communicate in whole of Filipino.nobody and American depress or impose to Filipino speaking and writing english.

  • you showed the kuk sool won website and chart map are very interested in,especially their fake history.

    pls watch

    /watch?v=N0NObemdQDE

we are discussing in history forum, could you write on somewhere the forum in public like 4ch or martial arts forums.i wonder moreover why smart people like you choose kuk sool won....?thank you.sakura

  • Berber, the word is origin of barbarian, ancient Greece called themselves as Hellenes (son of hero heren),and another different ethnic groups called berber that mean stupid slaves people can't speak Greece.you should think and notice the korean antilogy by yourself.if japanese didn't respect korean,we had not taught our languages.martial arts and tribal traditional come down to descendible,to tell or teach each other.how can decimate or rebirth easily like korean fake arts.

  • sakura answered that "i am very interested in your mentions.us people and doctors in the world use German in medical without ruled by German.England had not taught english to Indian since they looked down upon to Indian.a few noble Indian wanted to be taught, then they have employed english teacher by themselves since colonial age."

  • "like how america likes the japanese pop culture. its not ours but we use it and incorporate it into our lives. so when you seen that grandmaster in gold and said that was a chinese thing, it probably came from the chinese customs. and since they ruled korea, they probably just adopted it.i hope that this answers at least one of your questions. if not, ill keep looking."

  • same with korea. being ruled for so long by china, im sure that china forced them to learn chinese customs, culture and their arts. and possibly the same as when japan controlled korea. so for centuries korea didnt really have an identity of their own. on the flipside, most cultures and customs are shared and adopted into other nations.

  • @hiisuoosezi mentioned that "i think i get what youre asking when it comes to korean arts and that they are everyone elses styles that they try to pass off as their own. i think i have the answer to that. as you said before, they were under chinese rule til 1910 and then from 1910 to 1945 they were under japanese rule.

lets say if america was taken by germany, america would probably be forced to learn doitugo and be forced to adopt their customs and culture. "

  • hi,its cool movie but some include ads about fake art and cult religion of suh family.we japanese are discussing about korean fake martial arts, plunder and defomed like kendo, karate, aikido, jyudo, renamed to kumdo or gumdo, taekondo, hapkido, yudo.moreover they use art to korean nationalistic propaganda, they let distorted fact and history.could i borrow your place? why you choose kuk sool won?

  • korean almost don't have any martial history since korea was Chinese colony till 1910.korean just imitate on the surface only, then deformed the techniques by nothing knowledge and born a lot of randomness or patchwork arts as without rhyme or reason(理) ignored natural rule(自然法則),so they made many selling counterfeit martial arts.also i understand that you have freedom of choice, but why be deceived easily? fraud Korean!next time, i will explain the irresponsible techniques.

  • Brazilian capoeira is based from tragedy slave trade in Age of Geographical Discovery.and japanese kendo,iaido,jyudo,jyu-jyutsu,aikido,karate are based on zen(禅)or bushido(武士道).the attitude of these traditional martial arts are inherited through generations from in each families like as nation or army.

  • fantastic martial art....(Dancing). I really cannot believe that anyone outside a pub on a friday night could use anything of kuk sool won that would be in the real world of brutal street violence of any use whatsoever.come on you know that this wouldnt work. this is about as useful as a choclate fireguard.

  • later i will explain the applesauce history and techniques.

    /watch?v=J6Z-ekyyK8o

    watch real chinese marital art!!!

  • wiki mentions that "Following in Korean tradition, Kuk Sool Won uniforms are black and not white because white is a color associated with death in Korea"really????? korea are proud that "we are white nation"white is korean traditional color since they didn't have dye till modern age.they had been imported the black and other color cloth from china till 20ad.korean are making the falsification of history easily.fraud korean!

  • why the uniform is white or lightness, even cooking chef wear white, since cleanliness is needed for bodily exercise and martial art as manner.even the older and exhausted uniform, keeping clean and washing is for mind that is important.

  • basically, yellow and gold is noble for emperor or monks in china.however its mean meanness and betrayal from Judah of isukarionte in EU. korea was colonized by china for 1000 year till 1910,their king could wearied only red color.gold is vain splendor color, its not appropriate since and dragon, shenlong(神龍)is originated chinese, why korea are stolen any other culture???

  • white and black belt are accepted in karate, judo, aikido.but its for getting behind the danger that the expert do not play in abandon with beginner.its ruled that any instructor must not be proud their cathedra with the unique uniform chickenshit.

  • its not martial art anymore, cult using martial art to get money.firstly, the rule of uniform is very funny.the crimp is colored by degree, silver, red, gold.Surprisingly, grandmaster can swear that All Gold Dobok(wang-sa) with twin dragon emblems...what that???martial art is not the method to be bossy for other people and students.

  • Kuk Sool Won is korean fabricated art that "selling counterfeit martial arts"its deformed Chinese Wushu,tai-chi(太極拳),shaolin(少林寺) kun-fu basically and mixed with trivial copied the grappling technic of aikido(合気道) jyujutsu(柔術),karate(空手)by shallow cleverness....fraud Korean.

  • HAHAHAHH KUKUKUKUK PENIS HA

  • does anybody know the name of this song?

  • That's a Korean cult. Kuk Sool Won does not appear in any historical record of Japan, China, the West, or even Korea. It's just a fabricated tradition.

  • @Dewberrydrops Dancing? Sorry we like to incorporate our spirit with what we practice and use forms to keep a positive flow of things. Load of old cobblers? Is that the only thing you've ever eaten in your life? I feel bad for you. You should try other things seriously. It keeps pansies and lightweights off the streets and out of trouble? Pansies, no, we fight if our lives are at stake hence it's a SELF-DEFENSE art. Out of trouble? Yes it does, we don't just go online and DISRESPECT others.

  • @Dewberrydrops you may be good at dissing, but let me make one thing clear dewberrtdrops or whatever the fuckyour name is, kuk sool won isn't gay.

  • i did this they only want your monny

  • @Dewberrydrops if i were brainless then why the fuck would i be on youtube? the only gay stuff i nthis world is your dad...

  • I have a profound respect for the Master of this particualr art as i have met the Grandmaster in person when he came to Edinburgh, Scotland and he is the most kindest energetic man i have ever met he is 80 buut yet his Ki is of a teenager. His teachings are one of life lesson i suggest to the detractors you learn to read up on this style. Nuff Said.

  • 9 people need their head knocked off their shoulders but Grand master In Hyuk Suh

  • @Dewberrydrops hey fuck stick, why dont u come and fight me? i've been doing kuk sool won since i was 7 years old. we'll see what a load of cobblers it really is. i suppose you can get your annoying ass off the couch and do any better?

yeah. thats what i though. SHUT THE FUCK UP. nuff said bitch.

  • gay. tkd 4tw

  • Kuk Sool Won?

    Suk Tool Lose!

  • Thumbs up if you were bored and typed "kuk" in the search box because it means "cock".

  • to me all martial arts r same shit, its not a bout wat type a martial arts u playin, its how hard u train :)

  • SOOOOO COOL!!!!!!!! wats the song in this???

  • What is the "hyung" (pattern) called that Master Suh is doing?

  • 3.06 yikes what a kick :/

  • Im taking it now for the hell of it...I must say highly unrealistic..to many wrist grabs.. and to many times do you show your back to your opponent..Which is a huge no no..It may get you to a point where you can defend your self from an untrained man...But if 2 people were to train one with KSW and the other mma Im going with mma..I respect TMA but bjj, muay thai, boxing, are the way to go. These martial arts are a good add on to the tougher training regiments of them. Also do home training...

  • @gaijin4ETERNITY We know no one is gonna stand still in front of you in a fight. We do that to practice and learn and demonstrate the technique. Were a proficient KSW black belt's spin kick to hit a person at full force it would break or damage whatever body part it hit, block or not. I once side kicked a board (like at 3:06) it exploded. One of the shattered pieces cut the face of the holder. At combat speed, the locks demonstrated break or dislocate joints. Keep training, you'll see, its real.

  • @HCWalker58 why do people criticize korean martial arts

  • @ofomatheblackbelt People criticize because they haven't experienced it. We work very hard to refine our skills so what we do looks like art. We know how effective it is; we do it daily. I know SIKJN Suh from the video above personally. I train with him about once per year. His skills are on par with ANY martial artist you have ever heard of. He's just too polite to ever brag about it. We ignore the criticism. In KSW we respect every art because we understand what it takes to master them - all.

  • I like the tobuk

  • Look. I'm all for learning Katas (forms, patterns, whatever). And I'm all for learning how to wave some weapons around. I mean, I've been studying Wushu for 14 years of my life.

But I think I have learned my lesson. Martial Arts do not teach you how to defend yourself. Talking to a 5th Dan KSW man in Scotland I realised that my path was much stronger than his.

He didn't have a bad thing to say about Krav Maga.

I think that's because KM bases their knowlege in the present, and teaches practically

  • @hechser no disrespect but i beg to differ on the defending yourself with martial arts, i'm a kuk sool practitioner, i've studied it for over a year and it has already saved me from being badly hurt from a group of attackers and i honestly believe that if i didn't know kuk sool i would have been in a very bad situation that day.

As i said no disrespect and i too believe krav maga is a much more present day defence but martial arts do teach you to defend yourself.

  • i'm a kuk sool won practitioner and i have met master sung jin and been to a seminar where he taught us some self defence techniques and i have one word....unbelievable he is possibly one of the best martial artists in the world at the moment.

  • I don't know how I landed on this I thought it was a gymnastics floor exercise or some kind of a dance routine.

  • Well said aricandisgood. I have been in martial arts for 36 years now and seen about everything under the sun. I finally came to the same conclusion many years ago. It's about the artist, not the style. Every system has something good about it. As every system has it weaknesses.

  • @dpdees I agree. It's also about the instructor however and sometimes natural talent goes awry because some students actually can exhibit more natural skill than their instructors. Ego is a damning reality of the martial arts.

Style snobbery and intimidation can leave students lacking. Instructors without experience in other martial arts tend to be a bit blinkered and dare i say threatened by the lure of other styles. We all have something to share and competition is healthy.

  • this song kicks ass

  • I want to look into this art's structure and fighting system, because at a first over, it LOOKS like TKD with some non-functional Gung Fu forms.

  • uh... we looked up the history, and I don't mean to seem offensive, but this art doesn't have much of one. It may be as young as Jeet Kune Do.

  • kuk sool won is an amazing art and i highly recommend it over arts like karate that promote more violence.

  • it's hard to take this video seriously with this music lol

  • @1hayden234 I love this song haha

  • @ofomatheblackbelt I didn't say anything about the master. I'm sure he can defend himself rather well. I'm just saying that alot of the stuff that is taught in KSW, like the weaponry part is useless in self defense. You're not gonna find a sword in a club if someone pushes you around you know.

  • I have a strong boxing/BJJ background, and while sparring full contact,

I took a poke in the eye by one of these guys the other day. Strikes to the tear duct/sinus cavity are way worse than punches. Kuk Sool is just nasty.3 days later, I can finally open my eye, but it's still watering so bad that I can barely read my screen right now.

  • hey!!!!!!!!!! im a whiTE belt and my brother met the REAL MASTER OF KUK SOOL WONTM HIS NAME IS kuk sa nim HE IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @theflufflyone Kuk Sa Nim is the title and not his actual name @_@

  • Racist shit? japanese music with koreans? wtf...

  • @0XxSuzakuchanxX0 Do you know the difference between Korean music and japanese???? I wonder!!!! Study a foreign language before commenting!!!

  • ive done kuk sool won for 7 years and i STILL havnt learned this, and im not tired of learning

  • I just had a seminar with him and he is very kind and entertaining. He taught my class practical self defence (street defence).

  • i met that man he is a beast

  • @5posom he's my instructors teacher

  • I lived in the Bay Area in the early 80s, and there was an annual event with demonstrations from a wide variety of martial arts. The year the local Kuk Sool Won school ran the event, they brought a lot of their most senior instructors from Korea and each did a separate demo. From what I saw, it's an amazingly diverse art with very hard training. I've rarely seen any references to it since those days.

  • why would I want to learn to fight with a sword? As if I'd challenge someone to a duel out on the streets. Show me the real deal. Krav Maga and Brazilian jujitsu seem more realistic for defense KSW looks more like an exhibition show.

  • @SoyMAS214 go out and fight a master of this art and say it's crap

  • 1:25 thru 1:54 is like we are watching it in fast forward.

  • I saw the documentary aired in korea about KSW and they stated that this version is a revival of an older version and showed the old scrips.

However KSW is one of the Martial Arts taught at the West Point...for what ever that's worth.

  • WHOA!! SOOO COOL!!

  • 1) Kuk Sool Won is not as mainstream as many other martial arts that's why not many people know of it.

    2) The grandmaster/founder of this art is not dead.

    3) It's pathetic to see people commenting "this art is so dangerous" martial arts are ways of disciplining one's self for the better.

    4) If you think a martial art sux, go make ur own.

my first comment didn't post so hopefully this one does and have some respect for these arts...most martial artists incorporate these as a way of life.

  • @C3R34LKILl3R i toook this when i was little i loved it but we moved away soo i just enjoying watching what i could learn

  • @C3R34LKILl3R actually this martial art form was created more than 1000 years ago and i dought some on can live for 1000 years 200 at the least so get ur facts straight

  • @drpepperchugger1 Maybe you should recheck your facts instead of chugging dr. pepper and letting its loads of flavor fill your head with mindless babbling. No sir, this martial art form was not created more than 1000 years ago, this art is founded by Kuk Sa Nim In Hyuk Suh in 1958. Although I will tell you this art is based off of Korean martial arts that do date over 1000 years ago.

And for the record, the oldest living human is 126 yrs old.

  • @C3R34LKILl3R 3)the martial arts have many uses not just disciplining one's slef for the better

  • @ofomatheblackbelt yes it has many uses but truly, it's to better yourself, your character, your individuality. Most martial arts, if not all, teach discipline and respect. If you are a martial artist would you not say that you've improved your lifestyle just a tad by being disciplined?

  • what is this song called? does anyone know? ^-^

  • i never seen this before! this is kool ^-^

  • my Dad does this amazing martial art 2. I used 2 do it aswell but it got 2 much 4 me, he has got a Bamboo Staff and is training 4 a sword aswell.

  • lol, this sucks hard

  • incredible

  • water takes on the form no mater the shape you pour it in, water rushes around objects, it doesn't stop. Meaning the energy flows around. KSW could not be used in mma because the fight would be over in less than 3 seconds. KukSool

  • @hotsauselover : I saw an MMA match from back in the day where a kuk sool won black belt fought... He destroyed his opponent in the first round.

  • @EKGEK2 Trully. People underestimate korean martial arts, mostly because of mainstream WTF Taekwondo. Martial Taekwondo, Hapkido, Kuk Sool Won and even Farang Moo Sool are awsome. The last two often may be seen on MMA fights

  • @hotsauselover Goodridge was the dude's name

  • I'd love to see that! simply because you just don't see real KSW fights, only demos and sparring. They are just to dangerous. You can kill somebody unless you really know about the amount of pressure to put on someone. I spare every week(with pads of course) and I still get hurt and hurt other people, accidentally. My ribs still hurt . I also tore my ACL, very slight tare in knee, after coming down wrong from a jumping roundhouse kick. But to go full on! I'd pay good money to see that live!

  • whyy havent i ever heard of this.. it looks pretty sic

  • i made first degree black belt in here.... its great... i heard the grandmaster died though..

  • The Grandmaster isnt dead.

  • Also I am no martial arts expert but hard styles like muay thai and grappling are good one-on-one, but if several people come at you you can easily lose the advantage. I think styles like Kuk Sool Won and Kung Fu are better practically but that harder styles are good if you are interested in sports.

  • Hey moonrunrs KSW is a great martial art. Your training was not long enough to learn the true concept of KSW. Muay Thai and grappling also great but only difference is KSW is a lifestyle. Not meant for mma. Do you remember the theory of you, won, wha?

  • you should really enable embedding. i'm sure alot of people would love to have this on their sites.

  • the song is called wrongful meeting by ayumi lee

  • SONG IS Ayumi Lee- Wrongful Meeting ^0^

  • haha i took KSW at a young age so i couldnt really comprehend anything, but now i take vovinam

  • I trained under the Harmons for a few years on the 80s and got a brown belt under them (can't remember how many stripes). They were nice people and the activity was good for kids and as a cultural thing for koreans. But it was just too unrealistic for real life fighting. These choreographed demos look great but it's not realistic. When I started Muay Thai, grappling, etc. I started killing KSW friends. The same thing was true with Hwa Rang Do, which is virtually the same as KSW.

  • Can I get the name of this song please?~

    Pretty catchy~

  • Wow.....No w I wanna learn this!~ X3

  • i did kuk sool won karate at eight

  • @ther793 it's only karate if it's jappanese this is a korean art

so it's just kuk sul won

  • Master Sung Jin Suh comes to our Dojang in November.

I´m sure we can learn a lot from him.

  • everytime i watch this i just wish i had m
