hm... hard to explain... just give the anime a try, it has a very unique concept.

a tip though: start with episode 2, because the guys broadcasted the episodes almost nearly in a random order.

You can't explain the plot without spoilers, really. Can't even really pin a specific genre on it. Just watch it, it's very good.

Also, the anachronistic episode order they use is better (mostly) because while it disregards the chronological order of things at times, the main plot isn't one of those times, and in that ordering the climax and stuff of the story match up better through the length of the show.
