As for Frank Castle, The Punisher, taking over for Captain America: The cover of Punisher War Journal (Vol. 2) #10 shows Frank symbolically ripping open the chest of his Cap costume to reveal his traditional skull t-shirt underneath, ala Superman. I think that will be the final issue of Frank as Captain America.

I believe Steve Rogers will be back. If now then when ever Joe Q gets fired and considering the Steady Decline of the Marvel U. I hope its soon. For one Steve Rogers has been the only cap for years. 3 Cap wasn't lame or out of touch. If you've read current books you'd see that it started with Brubaker doing some of the best books of the past 20 years. But for now, RIP Steve Rogers, you old war horse, you'll be missed.

Cap was my favorite because he used skill and savvy to fight. He had ideals and never allowed anything to compromise him. He was a leader. Captain America was a great hero because Steve Rogers was a great man. This character must me resurrected in its original incarnation.

I don't understand why people think it's pitiful when you mourn the death of a comic book character. Fans like us took this hard when we first heard it, and still take it hard now. Steve Rogers is no more dead than I am. When it suits the SUITS that run Marvel, he'll be brought back. People are falling for this like they fell for the supposed death of Superman 15 years ago. Hell, even Bucky's been brought back from the dead recently. I think the only Marvel characters of any significance to ever stay dead are Uncle Ben & Gwen Stacy. Now Captain Mar-vell's back, too. Give me a break. Marvel has become so predictable. Death is just a temporary set-back.

Who's been brought back? Well, Foggy Nelson...And yes "time displacement" DOES count, so ditto for Hawkeye and Marvell. Just last year, Quesada "guaranteed" that 2 of the FF would be killed off. That was bull, of course. And then we have the scenelast year where Morlun rips out Spidey's eye and EATS IT before beating Spidey to death. SHAMEFUL. Quesada and his hack cronies have been the ruination of everything good that Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko built.

DEAD? I don't think so. So opnce again, it's big piles of sucker cash for Marvel Comics.

Marvel killed Captain America...that's messed up! I haven't bought a Captian America comic in along time but I made sure to get #25. I'm sure they'll find some way to bring him back-he's an integral part of the Marvel Universe. But will the character that they "resurrect" be philosophically the same. RIP Cap.

after what i read here on the comments it amazes me that one of the greatest heroes of all time captain america is dead.captain america maybe dead but his spirit will live on in our hearts and our minds. as quoted on the sandlot "remember kid, there's heroes and there's legends, heroes get remembered but legends never die.follow your heart kid, and never go wrong" and this is something to think about and i think captain america turned from a hero to a legend

I think that punch from cap got him thinking. but yea, i was completely devastated. seemingly the only person who still held on to the values and morals that made this country great. his death is a critique of the US in the present, it just would have made a bigger impact if this came in CW #7.
