Even if you don't understand most (or any) of this info you do know (by watching this) that we are getting ripped off by all corporate commercial name brands.
In the long run only 2% of the public will be able to decipher what is really being handed down here in this video, so the major carriers will still come out on top. They know that 98% of viewers will never go here.
At the very least this is not China: we do get exposed to this info. And realize just what we are missing out on.
probably not because iOS as a system does not have support for the hardware within the android phones. If you can get the code for apple and edit yourself- knock yourself out
don't mean to be a dick, but to comment on your facts about iPhones. You can't "kind of" jailbreak it. You can fully jailbreak it and add anything and everything that you want. Wifi tether, ssh, terminal, iFile to see the root of your phone, roms, customizations, tweaks, and hell..even apps if you want to go that route. Nice vid though, I want the S2 so I can have the best of both worlds.
can i do sth like the turbo boost in sandy bridge cpus? like if it needds power it pushes up to 1.2 ghz and in idle it uses 500 mhz? i think there was sth like that in symbian
I already get free Wifi where I live, I like the interface I set up from the market, and have apps that can conserve my battery with two taps ...don't really see why I should root my droid4 and void my warranty....
lol can u help me plz i didnt understand what the ROM mean im a beginner .. used to buy apple thing now time to change do u have a vedio of what ROM mean and is there any risk if u root ur phone and why the warranty expire if u download it .... some of my friends says if u missed up with ur root u will screw ur phone !
Your video sucks you explain that an option with rooting would be to allow you to use your device with " different rom's and ability to user ssh". People who don't know the basic idea of rooting would have no idea what a ROM or ssh is about
Zedomax, would you be able to do a video on how to then UPDATE the phone? For example I'm on 4.0.1 at the moment, rooted w/ the method from your site but I have no idea how to get to 4.0.2, or 4.0.3 when it's out.
I'm worried because I'm setting everything up the way I like, and I'm getting the feeling I'll have to erase it all and re-root and such. Ergh...
Yep! Tethering is free for me in Australia too, I believe on most carriers. It's infuriating to see them trying to charge for it... It seemed like it was going to be a problem here too but then they kinda pulled back on it after the first iPhone.
@darris321 You really can't but then again, verizon won't block your access unless you abuse it. Just use ur common sense and use it for light purposes, if you abuse it they have the right to terminate your account.
@FabioStream mine gets "FUCKING" overheated with normal OS, example, i play pocket legends for 10 min, overheats and starts to lagg...or i download something using atorrent, and i have to put my phone in the fridge for 10 mins, i really want an UNDERclock. I mis my Iphone so much because of the overheating on GS2
I have a buddy who rooted his lg optimus s from sprint & now he updated his phone to the newest version of android. And he managed to rooted it again but now he cant use his free wifi tether app. Help.
I tried connecting my EXT Hard drive to my ATT GS2, but it says "high power usb device connected. Can not access the device" I am using your kernel 2.6.35.7_zedomaxOCKernelv1.0
@zedomax I tried something tike a flash drive but you insert a micro SD card, that seemed to work. My ext HD doesn't have a power supply, its powered by the computer. I guess that makes sense to why it doesn't work on a phone.
@DJRodneyTD you probably need to spin up the drive using an external power source, you dont want to draw too much power from the phone (obviously it has protections, still)
@zedomax ok i guess ill try 1.5 maybe higher. and i also got a hold of a windows comp and FINALLY am rooting right now. i actually got my bootload cade and just about to root

The US system of 'marrying' a certain phone to a certain carrier is highly retarded. Phones should enter into the market telco-agnostic.
I bet there are some powerful lobbyists from the telcos bribing some American politicians to turn a blind eye, or even encourage this travesty.
