  • you shouldnt be jumping yet if you can barely canter on him.. hes gunna fall

  • laura, sometimes you are a rubish rider and i think that laura rides to much into her fences and she just needs to sit back and wait for the fence to come too you, laura, i hate the way you ride you stuk up little kreeep!! good vid btw, dnt listern to 'petrishkas' comment, she cnt ride !!! xx

  • no wonder the poor thing is bouncing - you're tilting forward with your upper body, which is a "go" position, yet holding onto it's head with really fixed rigid arms, telling it to stop. And then you're bouncing around on his back, rather than sitting on your bum and riding it into a contact, you're just hauling on its mouth.

  • hmm i am quite confused about this vid all you seem to be doing is pushing pushing and then dragging back and you seem to be flapping about alot and when he does jump you just set your hands on his neck you seem to be just winding him up like dragging him into an outlne and tbh i have ridden horses like this and done what you do and just relax on him give him his neck take things slower go back to trotting poles and poles in front of fances to get him thinkin about slow n steady good luck x

  • Hes Gorjiss

    Looks Excited Bout Jumpin :D

    Wuts The Sng?? x

  • Hes so scopeyy!

    You ride him amazingly! xx

  • he looks like he's rushing the fences? maybe he'd benefit from a long grid with small fences? they normally rush because they are panicing

  • I'm glad you said in your description that you haven't jumped him in ages because that's what he needs. I really think he needs to go back to the basics so that he can hold a rhythmic canter and trot a couple times around the ring without breaking. I would also do alot ground rails and raised cavalettis. He's got a fair jump, but he'll be much handier in the jumping ring if you drill on the fundamentals.

  • you should of started out small he looks very stiff inhis back legs and you dont have to kick him your just getting him more scared and mad

  • He would look stiff in his back legs he keeps trying to pace cause hes a standardbred durrr

  • well i dont think your the one riding i can get my answer from her not you so please mind your own buisness ok

  • And when he starts to change his rythm, circle, get your rythm, and try again. Dont let him jump when he changes and takes control. Also dont kick him over everything...you can tell he's going to go...just give him support with your leg. Rythm is key. What is his breed? With the pacing and all?

  • You can tell in this video that you are kind of reving him up. You need to trot these fences and sit the trot up to them to help with the rythm. With what yoiu are doing now...your body is still telling him to go. I think that if you take it slower with him and go back to the basics you will have a very nice talented horse. Do lots of cross poles and ground poles. Good luck

  • well done he looks really difficult to ride but you handled him really well!! x

  • your such a great rider, and your always getting better.

either Jay REALLY loves jumping or hates it i can't tell :P

  • He's kinda likin' the jumping of the fences isn't he....?

    Hehehe!!!

He's just amazing though, just needs to harness his immense talent!!

    What age is he now?

You ride him so well too, kudo's to both of you :)

  • thank you

and to answer your Q...he's 8 xx

  • he is coming on really well. Milo used to bunny hop like him before a jump, in time with training you will get a more smoother run so just keep up with the good work, at least now you can hold him until the right stride etc... great vid!!

  • Hes a stuner! he looks strong (: you ride him so well! x

  • aww you ride him reali well and reali nice hes a good jumper to loverly xx :)

  • well controlled he looks quite keen aha

    wots the songg? x

  • he is sexy, but you already knew that haha :] i think you ride him ace hun, he looked much better towards the end + over that spread he looked immense! xx

  • aww bless him. I would say try circling him before the jump gradually getting closer to the jump until gradually you incorprate the jump into your circle. That should help with the bunny hops in front of the jumps :) Bless him though, you do a really good job with him
