Boxers are compared through the fights they fight, and victories that they accomplish! So, no one can compare the great boxer like: Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Ali, Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Klitshcko bros, and many other great ones, because they are from different era, and every era has its champion and hero! I want to say just one. Mike Tyson may be stronger, but is much slower than Roy Jones. I think Mike Tyson have no chance of to touch Roy. This is my opinion.
Let's see. Both fighters were very good in their prime but didn't fight the best at the time for whatever reasons. Tyson didnt get to fight Holyfield later on who was past his prime but still beat him. Jones I must say was fast, but he never fought anybody tough that pushed him, he was never in a war. Micky Ward would have showed him what a real man was. Both Tyson and Jones were good fighters no doubt but they were never pushed in the ring in their prime.
Iron Mike in his prime was, is, and for longer years will be godly in his power in his punches to knock out an opponent in a 1st round (his punches sound different than any other heavy weight), iron armor to withstand any hard punches (though i doubt that he would ever take one in his prime =P), defense to penetrate opponent's offense, speed and combination to destroy anyone.

The thing is though he relied to much on his trainers to be in the top 5 of greatest heavyweights as he lost to the best heavyweights of his era. Everyone who says Jones just has no idea of how FAST and elusive Tyson really was when he was young. Not even sure if Jones and Tyson are in the same weight class. Jones has an interesting style, really flamboyant with good technique too, but Tyson is just plain scary. Everyone who says Jones just has no idea of how FAST and elusive Tyson really was when he was young. In terms of styles I think Mike may have had the upper hand since he usually fought bigger guys and was very effective bobbing and weaving against outside jabbers like Lewis. But Lewis is a top notch boxer and it could have gone either way.

Not even sure if Jones and Tyson are in the same weight class. Jones has an interesting style, really flamboyant with good technique too, but Tyson is just plain scary. It is sort of like facing up to a pitbull with a rolled up newspapers in hand. You may get a couple of shots in but at the end of the day it is going to end badly.
