Secondly, the SN96 just because it is 4.6L like the SVT cobra motor does not mean it is anywhere near the same engine, the SVT has dual over head cams, 32 valves instead of 16, is forged, etc etc etc... So yes no potential for the SN96. Either way when did this ever become a discussion over the super snake, GTR etc? Mention those and it's easy to mention the hennessey LS9 camaro. It's pointless

The only 4.6L worth a shit was the forged 32V DOHC cobra motor in 2003-2004. Plus I think the number you're looking for is 540bhp for the 2011 GT500. The supercharged 5.4L still sucks in comparison to a similar setup on a 5.7L or 6.0L chevy small block. Not to mention its still a 12+ second car because it can't get traction. Oh and live axle FTL. I'm just saying back...

I love plenty of different types of car one of my most favorite being the 03-04 cobra but a mustang gt is not a well respected car and are known for only sounding good and not being fast AT ALL!

Best so far is only 13.6 @ 109 MPH. Traction is an issue as the car is on stock tires and is lowered a bit over 2 inches. My tune isn't final yet either, I'll hopefully get another run in before winter hits. Good time though, you have a nice setup.
wow....what have you dont to an older model mustang GT to get it to hit a 13.6...now im not being a prick...but thats a rlly high trap speed for only a 13.6...i trap around 107 or 108 and thats when im cutting 13.1 or 12.9s. Post a track vid with a list of your mods and ill believe ya...it just iv been racing for a bit and the trap and time just dont add up.

Still running it on the stock 245/45-17 tires, and got some minor exhaust... no cats, etc... Boost works wonders :) I'll have good videos up come springtime when all the snow is gone. Once I can afford a new clutch I'll hit the track again and tear it up.

Then get some shorty headers, flowmaster exhaust, cold air intake, aftermaket superchip w/ dyno tune, Supercharger, and a little minty air freshener for 10k more, so out total is-- 28k for 600 hp. or 50k for 500 hp. hmmmmm. and still have 22k left for beer and pizza.
Ford is reliable. You can bench race all day long and say Chevy has something faster than a certain Ford... but that Ford will still be running after years of abuse.

@eightysjay I ran a 13.48@103mph stone stock down to the air filter in my 2010 Mustang GT. It's so weak that I've beaten a 2003 Corvette, 2004 and 2006 GTO, and a ton of ricers and WRX's.

@headbuttacactus I will also say many of the cars I have beaten at the track should be quicker, but there are a lot of drivers who can't get the most out of their cars, especially the Vette owners. I used to own a 1986 Mustang LX 5.0. I took off the intake silencer and bumped the timing to 13 degrees and ran 14.53@94.5mph. It was quicker than any of the magazine times for that year model. I usually wring out a car for all it's worth at the track.

It wasn't comfortable for the guy. The bumper was curving around right in his face too, we had it coming through the trunk into the passenger area, it was pretty comical.
The GTO guy was pretty cool too, he got on it before me, but I couldn't hear his exhaust over mine, which is why the delayed start. I followed him off an exit and chatted with him for a minute.

Don't worry, the bickering about me being dumb for racing "just because I'll lose" will stop pretty soon.
After the 20th I know someone with a stock (well ok, CAI/Tune) 06 GTO who I'm going to race.
To line it up again:
LS2 GTO - 376 RWHP (dyno'd after cai/tune)
04 GT - ~370RWHP @ 8psi (no personal dyno)
But also keep in mind my GT is 3130 lbs with me in it, the GTO is considerably heavier. It will be a good race ;)

You will find that this car is not American, not Pontiac, not Pontiac Motor Division, not Chevy, not even GM.
This car is a rebaged Holden that lacks even the word "Pontiac" on it for over 1 1/2 model runs, thats until they put the fake hood scoops on.
This car was sold to an unsuspecting public under an American Legends name with an Aussie cast LS Chevy engine and Holden only PCM tune.
It's a real import, no diff import status then a Honda Civic.

now to show u that i see ur point...when i heard there was gonna be a new gto coming out i was thinking " this is gonna be freaking awesome" cuz i thought it was gonna be retro like the mustang. then i saw the "gto" and i was like "wtf is this bullshit" and i didnt pay it any mind...until a few months ago when my friend got one. then i started paying attention and i saw that they could run 13 flat. thats when i started respecting them. my respect is due to performance. not country of origin.

for 50k you can get a fire hawk GT, or you can spend 18k for a 2005 GTO. Then get some shorty headers, flowmaster exhaust, cold air intake, aftermaket superchip w/ dyno tune, Supercharger, and a little minty air freshener for 10k more, so out total is-- 28k for 600 hp. or 50k for 500 hp. hmmmmm. and still have 22k left for beer and pizza.

@headbuttacactus I will also say many of the cars I have beaten at the track should be quicker, but there are a lot of drivers who can't get the most out of their cars, especially the Vette owners. I used to own a 1986 Mustang LX 5.0. I took off the intake silencer and bumped the timing to 13 degrees and ran 14.53@94.5mph. It was quicker than any of the magazine times for that year model. I usually wring out a car for all it's worth at the track.

It wasn't comfortable for the guy. The bumper was curving around right in his face too, we had it coming through the trunk into the passenger area, it was pretty comical.
The GTO guy was pretty cool too, he got on it before me, but I couldn't hear his exhaust over mine, which is why the delayed start. I followed him off an exit and chatted with him for a minute.
Gotta love some of the idiots saying "OMG HAHA OWNED" as if I expected to win, sometimes you race just for the fun of it.. idiots
