  • the Chinese's culture is amazing...unfortunately in Europe is little promoted. Just hear their songs and read their books and indeed if we dwell deeper into their history maybe we find a way of life, an example to live in these morality-less days!

  • About the music: I found myself twice or more spontaneously shedding tears, yet I was not sad at all, I can't explain it. Could it be a German thing? (me:born and raised USA, my maternal grandparents came fm Germany). I recall my Mom having the same reaction sometimes to music., and it has happened to me before also.

  • I love this beautyful short music movie! Xie Xie! Wo Ai Zhong Guo Cha!

  • @dinokralt Not really. This isn't music, it's mostly singing, and most songs in all cultures have simple music and focus on the voice.

  • @magical11 Where would one go to find more complex eastern music? It is beautiful no doubt, i am not trying to argue against that. While i'm no where near a scholar of eastern cultures i feel that this sort of expression of reality is evident in other areas of life. The expression i am talking about is that of a simple explanation of life. Children often have names that do not reflect beliefs or character traits but simpl numbers. Things seem rigid and creative complex thought is repressed

  • @dinokralt Now you are being ridiculous. When does any culture name their chuldren with simple numbers, especially the Chinese? If you were chinese, you would realise that all chinese names have meanings, infact, we don't have specific words that are meant for names like Europeans do, and use the obscure words in our language for names. This encourages people to look for the most unique combinations, and not at some book for a list of names with unheard of meanings attached. Go research more.

  • @magical11 i apologize, i don't have alot of experience with eastern culture. I was jsut referring to a vietmanese family i'm friends with. Their children are numbered. It just always seemed odd to me that the names of children were never conencted to moral beliefs of right and wrong. Even if they are the result of aspects of the language, which i beleive you stated, my point would still hold. Sorry if this offends! It's not my intent!

  • @dinokralt Not all cultures relate names to morality or divine scripts, and there's no right or wrong way. Normally Chinese parents name their children based on desired virtues, like bravery or beauty. And Eastern cultures are quite complex and sophisticated, so by saying we're less complex than the west is utterly condescending. Ancient Chinese engineering were astounding and unmatched in the world during their age. We weren't repressed at all. You just need to dwell deeper into our history. :)

  • @s3anCh1n About the engineering: what I LOVE is the story of the engineer (China) centuries ago, when designing a fortress, ordered an exact quantity of bricks. When it was clear that his work was questioned, he added one more brick to the order, stating that he had a 'contingency plan'.LOL. I appreciate sarcasm..I wish i had names and dates...anyhow, that one unused brick remains today unused.

  • @dinokralt ...your viet friends had names such as first son, elder son, etc but in Vietnamese, right? There are so many types of names and reasons why its chosen. Its the same for EVERY culture..for instance..Michael might sound just like any other name but to those who are religious it represents the angel that defeated satan. Vietnam and China are two different countries don't even try to compare..bad reference..

Don't start with simplicity..at least we don't name our kids "4Real" lmao!

  • @dinokralt the "simple" melodies might be more familiar to us because they are peaceful and meditative and that's how they've gained attention..for relaxation...that's the cliche of the "Orient", right? but there are other genres and styles.

  • @dinokralt don't confuse minimalism with "simple." It's like saying Ligeti is "simple" compared to Bach. Or that the Cello Suites are "simple" compared to the Firebird Suite. These are invalid comparisons.
