You are correct. Part of the problem with the Leafs, is that they have such a loyal fan-base. The management at MLSE knows this, and they exploit it. You only have to look at the team in it's hay-day, in the 90's, when they could have traded for Gretzky. The powers-at-be knew this wouldn't impact on the bottom line, because they already sold-out every game. They don't really care about winning..only money.

trade away poni, andropov, tucker, stajin for some decent players who produce. I'm not talking superstars here. I'm talking like players with a decent amount of talent who consistently produce decent numbers.

We never had lines filled with 3 mogiliny type players. We don't need that to win.
