  • Oh, Joe, Wisconsin needs your spirit.

  • Just found out he was my granfathers' mothers' brother :)

  • Joe Hill lives in Wisconsin!

Also, the audio sounds like a gramophone. It's more authentic that way. :)

  • arriba los trabajadores!!

  • I was there! That was one of the first protests I ever went to.

  • luke kelly done the best version of joe hill, period.

  • @irishgeal1 luke's version is superb!! but if I may this is a case where we not make comparisons between Paul and Luke are not necessary both do great honor to a hero and bless Luke and bless Paul

  • It was 94 yrs ago today. RIP Joe Hill!

  • beautiful!

  • By the way ... the composition is by Earl Robinson, the father of the jazz musician Perry Robinson. I have heard the song yesterday (2009-06-24) in the jazzclub A-Trane, Berlin, Germany. Chris Adams (p) was the singer in the Perry Robinson Quartet..

  • This is just a class rendition of a working class legendary story sung by a working class hero.

The finest rendition of Joe Hill I ever heard. If you know nothing of Joe or Paul Robeson wiki them.

  • this isn´t the way,, joe was a union man

  • Vart fan hittar man när Joe Hill sjunger? Han var i min släkt juee

  • You simply can't beat Paul Robeson's voice- just like Joe Hill, he was someone who stood up against oppression and also paid a price

  • joe hill working class hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x

  • Fantastic song --- Singing goes to the heart from the heart.

  • Joe Hill never died. You meet him everywhere you go. He is the humanity in us.

  • Hellz YES!

  • Yeah, maybe. But it wasn´t 80 years ago. Now a days it doesn´t matter what you vote for. It´s the same corporate A**holes where ever U go. True in Europe, true in the Americas! The little guy just have to keep hes trap shut, and do ass the boss man says! It pisses me off!!!!!

  • What a lovely kind of socialism you proclaim where you blame the Jews.....oh yeah, wait; we've seen that one before, from the mad Austrian corporal Hitler. He brought Germany to literal ruin in 12 years & caused the deaths of 50 million people.

So when it comes to fucking off, its you can go get lost you stupid little Nazi prick. Wall street should be irrelevant...yeah yeah, so where do you organise exchange & arrange credit. All Nazis are economic morons, it comes with the territory.

    Assclown

  • Fascism and socialism are opposites, you moron.

  • The capatilist society is dieing! read the news!

  • No, it is not. Or at least, lets not think that way, it still needs a push! Let us take active part in it, non?

  • The greatest protest we can perform is to refuse. Refuse to work for them. Leave your employment and refuse the dole, then you have the right conditions for social change. Refuse to buy. Everytime we buy, we are supporting war, giving them a reason to war in our name in order to supply us with useless throwaway products. The history of the 20th century makes more sense when interpreted primarily as the struggle for control of oil rather than the clash of ideologies.

  • boykut capitalism!

  • I first became aware of Joe Hill a few months ago and I had no idea that one of my countrymen was that famous in the U.S. There is also a swedish version of this song by the troubadour Fred Åkerström.

  • I agree

  • Be sure to look up Phil Och's "Joe Hill". A good one is him singing on Swedish television.

  • wherever there's a strike, wherever there's a picket line, wherever people are beaten down and fired and jailed, wherever people stand up for their rights..I'll be there. Doesn't need to be workers..resistance keeps rising where you least expect it..but when - if - workers organise to fight for a new world...that's when hope becomes real

  • classic song (sometimes it is hard to find Robeson) and cool enough video but who are the freaks hopping around like they want to pretend they're on acid back in the 60s? Surely these are not the progeny planning to organise the working class . . . they can't even organise their own feet.

  • Kind of remind me of the festival crowd in South Park's "Die Hippie Die" episode, basically just giving lip service to social change.

  • Thank you!

  • My will is easy to decide For there is nothing to divide My kin don't need to fuss and moan "Moss does not cling to a rolling stone." My body? - Oh. - If I could choose I would to ashes it reduce And let the merry breezes blow My dust to where some flowers grow Perhaps some fading flower then Would come to life and bloom again This is my Last and final Will Good Luck to All of you
  • Nice voice! v nice, you really hear a voice like that!

  • God Blesss you Brother Robeson.

    U Never Died, Indeed.

    U Never Died.... Indeed!

  • magnificent song from one of the greatest ever singers, Paul Robeson. A true classic, but I agree with with of the comments here that said that this should be put down as Paul Robeson.

  • Awesome!!!

  • Wow. You're not going to find this floating everywhere. Thanks for the post!

  • put this down as paul robeson cos u cant find it otherwise
