  • i wonder why the drummers back then use to like swipe the high hat, like ringo star for example

  • @StillComedy I've only seen Ringo do it. Those sweeping strokes on the hat create a flowing motion feel in time with the groove and is possibly a more economic way to execute the ride pattern than the straight up and down strokes. It may be a better stroke technique ergonomically, easier on the wrists, perhaps.

  • Damn, I miss the Beatles.

  • u are a little god!!!!!!! :D amazing!!!!!!

  • @Demoniumist Thanks

  • Such a great cover, keep it up!

If you have time check out my guitar covers!

  • @JoeTheGuitarist7 Thanks a lot, yes, I saw your Help cover, very good rhythm you have. Keep it up.

  • @rhythmantic Thank you. :)

  • cool multi media idea!

  • @seltaebgirl Thank you. Well I saw that show as it televised and thought it would be good to add in.

  • yeah! Perfect adition, i automatically transported with that video, and with your drum "enphasis"?(is it correct n.nU) it makes me shake my head and tap my feet! I remember in washington dc 1964 how ringo actually destroy those drums!

  • @LevaRapero Thanks for watching. Yea, Ringo was really laying into the drums on that concert.

  • Your drum kit would of cost a hell load of money! Mainly because of your Rolland snare and tom skins. Great cover by the way!

  • Amazing Sound!!! Great Drums

  • @TheAstroVox Thank you, appreciate that coming from you who gets a great tone on his guitar.

  • it annoys me when people go on about how good it was when they talk about watching this in 1964 because it makes me so jealous. i wish i went back a few decades im 15 years old and i would have loved to have seen this.

  • @FLEXskateboards I find your comment amazing that there are folks from your generation who would have liked to live in that time, it's not the first time I've heard this. It was a very fertile & creative time in so many ways & much of what came out of that period, is still with us today. That night The Beatles were on Sullivan was milestone for so many guys such as myself, life was so different after that night.

  • What a great idea to put a video of the Beatles in your video. I was a 10 yr old watching that night in 1964 and knew when the Beatles hit the music scene nothing would ever be the same again!

  • @MrMike3865 Yea, what a milestone that appearance was, I was 13.

  • Hi. You are great. I wonder how do you play the kick drum in this song because I can´t see your right leg. I try to hear it but I am not sure.

    Thanks!

  • @oubimartin Thanks. Bass drum is played on "1" and the "and" of 2, and on the "3". Bass-snare-bass-Bass-Snare.

  • @rhythmantic

Thanks! Do you rely on scores of the Beatles or just play by ear? I would like to see you play sometime Love Me Do.

    Greetings from Argentina

  • @oubimartin Never use charts for The Beatles. I grew up with those songs, they are in the fiber of my being. Sorry, but Love Me Do is one of many Beatles songs I won't be covering. It's up there with Michelle, If I Fell, and many others. Good to hear from Argentina, I've been asked to be interviewed by a DJ from a Buenos Aires radio station. Greetings SF Bay Area.

  • Good job :) I'm 15 and wish I could have seen The Beatles live especially on The Ed Sullivan Show. You're so lucky! Best band ever. Keep up the good work!

  • @MsCoolmonkey123 Thanks so much. Yea, it was quite an event, millions of people were watching that night on Feb 9, 1964 and changed a lot of people's lives. I glad to see that their music is appreciated by young folks like yourself, it is timeless and classic music.

  • Good

  • gotta love George and Ringo!

  • italian beatles cover band wants you man!!!

  • @NOD32Virus Being that I'm Italian, that sounds very inviting. I'd love to be a good Beatles cover band.

  • you're the best !!

  • @NOD32Virus Grazie!

  • Nice job - you've got those snare fills down..I heard an "outake" of this tune where Ringo was really rockin out. He played some nice bass drum on it especially durring the guitar solo. I also remember the Ed Sullivan shows. It really impressed me. It's probably why we still play drums to this day...Ringo was the man.

  • @jdrum12 Thanks. Yea, you know it bro', Ringo is the man.

  • its pretty straight foward. its basically doing the exact thing the whole song besides from the rolls which in that case your master at. Keep up the great work, man. :)

  • @ChiroQuacker I'll have no evil spirited comments on my channel. I'm removing your comment and blocking you. Every once in awhile someone like you comes along and makes me wonder their true motives for being so mean-spirited. I've played drums for over 47 years and I know good drumming whether it's my own or someone else's, so I can't be fooled by such comments. You need help and pray you seek it..

  • YOU KNOW THE WAY MAN

  • sólido!!

  • Simply amazing, you're a master in your craft! ;D

  • @albrenza Thanks for your encouraging comment and I appreciate you checking out my videos.

  • GREAT!

  • @mrsullyrox THANKS!

  • GEAR AND FAB as usual Sal! You look and sound really good on my new IMAC! WOW!!!!

  • @SQDLVR Cool Eman, thanks my friend.

  • Hi Sal -- Lovely as usual. Looks like Ringo is on the ride a fair amount in video?

  • @hidayj On the recording the ride is definitely on the hi-hat, but in the footage of the live performance from the Ed Sullivan show he did play ride in some places.

  • The day that you'll have covered every beatles song comes closer every post! And all of them are great covers!

  • @TheNextEpisodes Thanks, appreciate you checking out my covers and your encouragement.

  • Great sounding track/kit, Sal. Great job. Love that crash cymbal at 1:12! You've been uploading lots of songs lately...how are you finding the time?! I am envious. :)

  • @DrumHub Thanks Rob. I have a few days I could do this, and I don't have kids. Most of these songs are ones I know or have played in a band and so I just turn on the video camera and also capture the audio track in Logic and run through a bunch of songs. They mostly one or two takes

  • Love those snare fills man....And this was the B side of I Want to Hold Your Hand. Another good 45 record deal from the Beatles...two A side songs ...... The bass playing in this song is some of the best of Paul McCartney. I remember jamming to this tune as a youth in the basement of my parents home with my brother and a friend who played the bass, I think was the only one around town that could play it on the bass. He also had the McCartney style Hofner bass. It must be worth a fortune...

  • @readyeddy101 every 45 was "double A sided"

  • @jonmur77 You've got that right Jon !!

  • @readyeddy101 Yea, I love those Ringo style fills. Roll Over Beethoven and other songs of that period had them. Wow, Nick, now that a memory, you got to play a Hofner. McCartney is a great bass player, he created a unique style of playing, which later on got very melodic. He and Ringo are really tight on this track. Thanks for watching.

  • wow!! you hit the main drum at the exact time as Ringo!! :O

  • you sir are rock n roll!
