the game seems great, the villains seem original, the pokemon seem cool (unlike what most of the "fans" say), and i just find the overall style of the game.

the only problem i have is with Victini, the event pokemon.

And yeah some look like digimon now. But that's because some aren't cute anymore or the legendaries look like cyber things instead of, like, dragons or birds. Yeah, they kinda look bird-ish but ever since Gen3 our legendaries haven't looked as organic, even if Rayquaza is badass. The jet engines for asses kind of supports that for me, I would have liked generic birds more.

I fucking want this game though, the majority of Pokemon still look like Pokemon.

Pokemon is as good now as it has always been. The Pokemon look BETTER now than they used to. Gold and Silver were surpassed as soon as Platinum came out. I don't understand how people can say, in the same breath, that the Pokemon are both 'too different' and 'not original'. Surely if they looked like the old Pokemon, they wouldn't be original? Saying they look like Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh is also completely bizarre. Face it, people; you're not 10 anymore. The franchise has moved without you.

Ditto is one of the best invention the game ever had, Voltorb is a generic pokeball-booby-trap that made the RPG all the more better, and Jynx. Jynx is just badass.

That is not to say that these new pokemon won't. Ditto was just a pink blob , Jynx sparked racial issues. I also think that that pokemon like Pidgey, ratta, Spearow, etc. were bland. But that is only a matter of opinion. I have liked all generations desing equally.

@TheMysteriousNobody1 Well, when Pokemon was originally created it was just an RPG, and Voltorb was a fun part of that RPG, one of the chests that actually turns into an enemy. I don't think you can say that's uncreative design, he was a booby trap.

Anyway, yeah, it does come down to opinion. But really, you DON'T think it went downhill? Just looking at the starters I can see that I liked all of them for the first two gens and by fourth gen I couldn't decide which one was "most tolerable."

Taking that into account, I think that many feel that the sudden change results in them missing the old style and ultimately disliking the new pokemon.If we take it from a person who has never played pokemon's perspective, they might look like regular monsters despite the difference in style. Quite honestly, I like empoleon more than blastoist.

As "the fire thing" was based on the daruma doll, pokemon aren't restricted to just only animals. Trainer N doesn't seem to be an antagonist in this game. I think he may be a Prince, or a King of Pokemon, or something. That, or the crown let's him control either Reshiram or Zekrom. Any thoughts?
