  • anyone who says cape town is dangerous but will go to paris, london, rome, new york, LA is seriously ignorant and racist!!. just cause black people live there doesnt mean u will be robbed!! we africans have soooo much swag!!! hahah

  • will be heading to cape town in next year! cant wait

  • Comment removed

  • I love Cape Town it's so beutiful, people moan about the massive amount of crime but frankly it's just a blatant lie i havn't been attacked once it wasn't voted africas best city for no reason! just stay out of the dodgy areas and you will be fine just like any other city in the world!

  • Me want to visit Cape town. It also seems comfortable to live in such a place.

  • @Revorider23 Cape Town and no where in South Africa is a comfortable place to live. It can be a great place to live if you have the resources for nice property, good security and other lifestyle goods.

  • it's so dangerous in south africa my fellow Europeans/Americas, the boogy man will get you blah, blah, lived here all my life, not a scratch on me...

  • best people just back, love them all

  • recently visited. loved it!!!

  • just like any city in the world, stay out of dodgy areas. Cape Town is beautiful!

  • Lived there. Back in UK now but loved it wanna go back.

  • mother city!!!

  • cape town for me is the most beautiful place in the world i come from there and the people are as nice as can be and they have respect a very rare thing these days thumbs up for a beautiful place that we will always love cape town ftw

  • Ireland FTW!

  • @scruffylittledog Hahaha. Been there. Nature's nice yea, but Ireland is kinda dead. :P

  • I want to live in Cape Town someday and marry a South African and have and raise my children there, Cape Town is so beautiful and great and theres lots to see and do there.

  • CAPE TOWN has many attractions and is avery beautiful city

  • cape town is as violent as it is beautiful.

  • wheres the night life guide? crime is so rare here! out off all the tourists that came for the world cup, ( a lot ) no violent crime was reported around the country - crime shouldnt be a reason for not coming! this video should focus on other things..

  • @fattirevsbud geez dude, thats absolute nonsense! i've lived and worked in Cape Town for 10 years, and not once, ever, have i heard capetonian whites or blacks say that about each other. I have many white and black colleagues, and white and black friends. We all agree that the only people saying what you did appears to be politically motivated (recent ANCYL protests are a shining example)

  • A beatiful city of South Africa

  • Just came back from there whites call blacks monkeys and blacks hate whites too...it's beautiful but a bit sketchy at night, after few days you'll love it if u're not being a wimp

  • @fattirevsbud that simply not true! I live here I should know?

  • @fattirevsbud You can't generalise comments like that when we live here and know what people are like. There's more unity then division here.

  • It's the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Do your research! (You might learn something that goes beyond the skewed misconceptions presented here).

  • great city

  • ...such a pity this video gets info about Cape Town wrong - and strings together historical facts to create a skewed view of Cape Town. The incredible focus on jails, safety, crime in the video is just hype.....Cape Town has been voted as one of the top cities in the world to visit.....

  • There are plusses which are so important, but not included in this vid. find out more, please!

  • listen to the first line if you have a bad opinion of CT. I experienced far worse living in London.

  • A nice video with one exception. There are other races that make up the population of both Cape Town and the rest of South Africa and they all play a vital role in the country. This portrays only one side of the country.

  • Capetown people! woohooo!

  • if they would give the SAPS a fair salary, they would try harder to do their best! corruption would be less....

  • if they would give the SAPS

  • what an idiot!

  • i love the city as well

  • beautiful classy city. i love it personaly

  • Well i live in europe and i went there for a year internship which i chose and boy o boy....i'm from the caribbean which is paradise but that place got it going onnn!!!! I loveee, and nothing ever happend to me ...ya just gotta use wisdom and God has ma back

  • The facts is what the crime stats don't tell you is the fact that South Africa has little to zero tourism murders each year. Much less than a country like Australia for example. Don't listen to the rubbish posted by ex South African racists. It's a veyr safe place to travel and live if you're middle class.

  • umm... sigh* never mind i won't even bother.

  • I'm traveling to Cape Town for the World Cup in June. Any good advice? Just like in your comment, I only know that South Africa is dangerous and racist. Sorry for the stupid question.

  • don't worry cape town is safe and great, you will have a good time and the people are really friendly, its not as dangerous as people say, i'm from london and i went last year and i'm off to cape town in december 2009, i have a great time there ,

  • do not worry I've been there twice it's wonderful you won't be raped or killed, there's a lot of beaches alittle bit cold but you'll love it. I wanna go again.

  • @rolliepollie100

In what way is South Africa racist?

  • @rolliepollie100 Go to the New Cape Quater in greenpoint/town (close to the stadium)...its a really cool, trendy shopping centre, as is the old cape quater accross the road. And on Saturdays from about 9am - 2pm there's an awesome food market at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock.

  • by far one of the most stupid comments ever............

  • You might rock in SA but so does the crime and with the big influx coming for world cup there is great potential for criminals . Our statistics are 6 times higher than USA per capita and some people and the ANC put their head in the sand by saying ""there is crime everywhere in the world and we are no different "". What a lame duck excuse . Few places in the world have and need residential security to the level of what we have , and still the murder is so high . With 42% unemployment .....

  • I spent 3 weeks in South Africa visiting my mate, when i told my other friends what i had planned they were all shocked and thought i was coming home in a bodybag and told me all the horror stories of the high crime rate, i always replied there is just as much chance of being stabbed for a stupid reason within 20 miles of my home as there is of being killed during a mugging in South Africa, turns out the worst I suffered was a hangover and a bit of sunburn.

  • Left CT 7 years ago, i miss it terribly, go home yearly to see my family, however, now living in Switzeralnd, feel like it's the old SA when i was growing up, so safe, no need to look over your shoulder constangly, specially with having children, feel very privelaged work brought us to Switzerland, CT will always have my heart as my family remain there, however Switzerland is now home...love you CT

  • I live overseas but would go back in a heartbeat if i could afford it!

  • Nice one! Cape Town is one of the best cities in the world. A true jewel of Africa! Millions of tourists can't all be wrong. :)

  • I grew up in Cape Town, it's the most beautiful place in the world, provided you're a privileged white. The majority of Cape Town is a dump, the Cape Flats are rife with crime which is now spilling over into the once safe areas, I wouldn't believe any of the crime figures released by the government. The reality is that almost everyone I went to school with in Cape Town now live in the UK or Australia and the ones that remain are only there because they have no alternative. Zimbabwe Mark II.

  • I'll give you the point that being wealthy in any area would make it beautiful. But in the same token, violence is prolific throughout the world and the point that, Cape Town (which can be accurately described as the most racist city in the country) thinks its special, is a crock. Those "people" that left for the UK & Australia - oh please, they're coming back so quit with the naysaying and begin to actively engage your community than running away. Stand your ground for your own country.

  • i will go to live to cape town

Im pregnant and I think there is a beautiful place

to start my new live with my baby

    thanks for the video

I will visit Cape Town in this month to look for a house

  • CAPE TOWN FOR THE WIN!!!

i was born in worcester but only becuase my mom didnt trust the swellendam doctors. when i was young i moved to cape town and only moved out of SA a few months ago

  • Stay Classy Cape Town

  • It would but you keep coming back lol

  • I love Cape Town !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you got to visit capetown. A very beautiful, rich in color and culture with amazing nature landscape. Try cape of good hope too. Amazing scenerity, jaw dropping seas and the weather is cool during apr. Expect 4 seasons in a day. thats how amazing capetown is. Try the fisherman hook (delicious fish and chips) at waterfront. And if u like adventure, try skydive at capetown and cage shark. Watever it is, its a worth the money to visit. I myself enjoy it....

  • I would really like to visit Suid Afrika, but I am afraid of all the crime that I hear of from native Afrikaners.

Then again, I am an American sot hings are very exaggerated in our media.

  • let me try and tell you the truth and be completely unbiased.Probably one of the most beautiful places you will ever see, some nice buildings too with a brimming night life around the waterfront especially. Let me warn you though, be careful especially at night crime is rampant anywhere in south africa and even here it is worse than any western civilization. If you stay smart and aware you will have the time of your life, ifyou are looking fortips and places to go let me know iused to live ther

  • You just got to stay out of the dodgy areas such as the slums and possibly cape flats (if you visit cape town) if you do not want to get yourlself harmed by gang culture or get mugged for your wealth.

You've also got to remember to not go out at night as this is the time where the mijority of the crime occurs such as rapes, robberies etc.. - i went there in 2002 and everyone i saw looked friendly and i left without a scratch :D

  • ANY city you visit as a foreigner, use COMMON sense and South Africa is no different!

  • i went there last year all along the garden route, we were able to walk around with out any fear, there was not violence from what our news agencies feed us, go man just don't go to jo'burg thats is were the violence is

  • the afrikaaners that have ran away from sa should be the last ones u listen to!! i am also afrikaans but south africa is my home and always will be!! ask a south african

  • Afrikaner, Zulu, English, Indian, Xhosa - yep, South Africa comes in many flavours and as much as we may have problems, it's a challenge that we are rising to no matter what "others" may say. If people wish to buy into what BBC, CNN, SkyNews (those tabernacles of truth - note the sarcasm) broadcasts then your opinions are something WE as South Africans don't need to pay any attention to whatsover. We rock and we're going to continue to do so!

  • ye Big up CT~! :)

  • I'm going their for school at UCT :D

  • Cape Town is awesome and it is one of ten most beautiful cities in the world....

    WOW....I love CT!!!!

  • i love cape town!! i was on;y there 3weeks but i miss it soooooooo much!!

  • i moved to sweden 6 years ago, born and raised in cape town, its stunning and i miss it every single day... there's no place like home, and cape town is home, even if your not from there!

  • I love living in Cape Town :)

  • i moved to new york 3 years ago i used to live in johannesburg and went to cape town often, its a beautiful town if you are planning to go there, defiently check oput table mountain, bolders beach, and cape point, all are magnifecent sites. Also check out batnry bay

  • What great and nice video. I have been in Cape Town some years ago and I fell in love with that beautiful city and the surounding areas. The whole Western Cape is very beautiful as well. Whenever I see pictures or documentation abt SA I get tears in my eyes bec I am always very touchted to see the beauty this country has to offer. I hope I can come back to visit this "most beuatiful end of the world" and its great people pretty soon!!

  • I love Capetown.

    The video is just great.

    5 blazing stars.

  • no also stay away from grassy park

  • I am going to Capetown in October. Any tips on what to see, what to do, what to stay away from?

  • Stay away from places like, Hannover Park, Lavender Hill and Bonthewel (I think you spell it like that).

But... ya, that's like "the hood" or whatever people call it.

Other than those places, everywhere else should be okay, like any other place in the world.

    But Cape Town is BEAUTIFUL!

I've lived here my whole life - and nothing bad has happened to me really...

    You'll have fun.

  • thnx for the info iam actually thinking of moving there

  • i was born and raised in Bonteheuwel, so i know that holiday makers will not dare to enter there, i live in sweden now and when i visit cape town, i usually live in Blaauberg or Melkbos... i would stay away from walking alone at night, even in Blaauberg, Melkbos... Cape Town is a City like any other... look for trouble and you'll find some. always travel at night with many people and you will be a-okay!

  • lol! you tell people to stay away from places you can't even spell! just indicates how totally disconnected you are from your own country and city. all you know are the "beautiful" tourist areas... how limited...

  • i used to live in Johannesburg and i loved! going to Cape Town. I miss it soooo much!

  • thats my city....

  • Cape Town is and always will be the most beautiful city in the world!

  • Im very proud of my home city

  • Yes I agree- I was born there and I love the winelands I have many happy memories of the Cape and it was where my father and mother met. it is beautiful indeed.

  • Alovely country..

  • South Africa has the highest number of murder, homicide and crime in the whole world, and the governement is doing nothing to stop it!

  • And London's really safe isn't it?? You have to be careful wherever you are in the world. Cape Town is the most beautiful place.

  • and cape town's crime has gone down 40%? surely that means something

  • eh homicide and murder???is that not the same thing....

  • cape town rules

  • until you get carjacked

  • very true, but cape town is still a very beautiful city
