awesome DIY shampoo! i was thinking about trying it until i figured i barely have any hair (buzz cut). so im just goin to use my vegan hemp soap on my head instead of paying for that expensive organic shampoo.
Howdy Jeep, I'm glad to see ya given the "no-poo" a go. It's gotta be better for ya than the commercial stuff. My generation was submerged in chemicals from birth, your's is learning to swim out of the muck. There's tons of stuff a body can do to clean up your little pocket of the world, and making your own hair cleaner is a good example. We also make our soap and bread, grow as much of our vegetables, and eat farm fresh eggs and humanly grown meats, as we can. Thanks from Indian Country Farms.
I just tried the baking soda shampoo yesterday and I was impressed on how well it cleaned my hair and it was SO easy too! I was very skeptical and thought I would have to rewash my hair after my shower but it turned out great! Thanks!
I want to say thanks for this! I've been doing this for about 3 wks now with red wine vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar (just cuz I had it around & it wasn't getting used, plus I read elsewhere that it's good for redheads to use to enhance their natural colour). I've been getting great results!! Someone posted on here about using a preservative, I don't & I haven't had any issues so far... Obviously this person doesn't know how vinegar is actually made!! lol
I CAN NOT BELIEVE how many of these videos I see that they Donbt use a preservative!! Within 24 hour or LESS bacteris & micro organisms are forming. If water is added you MUST use a preservative people.
@cox1007 With me that's the WHOLE point, NOT to have preservatives and chemicals in my products other than the ones the earth produces naturally. So if you come from that basis, you might also realize that we were designed to be able to usually recognize when a thing looks and/or smells like it is too far gone to use safely. We are also designed to be able to handle a few germs and micro organisms just fine.
@xanadu1jw Two Words, NATURAL preservatives. I actually make my own Shampoo completely from SCRATCH. (Water Phase, surfactant phase, and additive phase) it is both sulfate & paraben free. I sell to the public means it is crucial to follow FDA guidelines. If you make a batch of this( the Vid) it should b used that day or put n the fridge, and ONLY 4 private use. Shampoo should clean , not carry bacteria & mold on to your head. (God forbid an abrasion b on the scalp that it gets into. )
Dude, those bottles are empty! She is using empty bottles to put her homemade stuff in. They are White Rain bottles, but again, they are empty, she is not using any kind of purchased shampoo.
baking soda is sodium bicarbonate an excellent anti bacterial, anti fungal, anti viral, anti parasite. Its good for everything. You can drink it, 1 teaspoon in a glass of water, everyday before you go to sleep.
the video was OK but I don't think I would Use plain Baking Soda & Vinagar to wash my hair, is there any other shampoo Ideas you have. maybe something more like Store bot version but more like Natural food Market Shampoo say some thing like Natures Gate ,Is there any way to make shampoo like Natures Gate ?
I am going to dump my shampoo bottles out and try this. How do you add the herbs to the shampoo? Do I boil it in the leaves in hot water and wait for them to warm and than proceed with your directions? Can I use this in both the shampoo and the rinse? My plan is to use the organic bulk herbal conditioner from the health food store and your shampoo and rinse.
I just tried exactly what I said above and it went wonderfully. Next, I am going to try boiling the water with lavendar and chamomile tea leaves from the bulk tea store.
okay, thanks for the sharing. i'm gonna try to make it first. i'll let you know the result. :) hopefully, it will work on my hair too. i have thick dark hair also.
I just tried your shampoo reciepe and it worked beautifully.I just added a little bit of essential oil to the vinegar, bought a conditioner that cost $0.99 and my hair feels exactly like when I used to wash my hair w/the expensive stuff.Thanx! This past few weeks I have been experimenting w/different reciepe's from other youtube video's and none of them work.I have long thick hair and it was exactly what I needed. And it's affordable.Thanx!Aloha!
Friends, Please check out my site if you want to know what is going on in this country. I'm trying to inform as many people as possible. There is a lot of good stuff on there about raw foods as well.
Hi, I'm made a really nice facial cleaners with cocoa nibs (or you can use dark chocolate), oats, milk and honey. Just blend it then put it on your face!
That's ok. I actually listened to the video and got the recipe there. Doh! I've tried baking soda and my hair was really hard to brush. I basically wash my hair every 3-4 days now with the most natural shampoo I could find on the market. Have you have heard of soap nuts. It is a nut from a tree?
Removing as many chemicals for our environment is the goal. Deoderant-baking soda, Teeth- I use Ipsab which is baking soda, salt, prickly ash bark and pepp. oil. Mouthwash- Ipsab Hydrogen peroxide with peppermint oil. Moisturizer- Shea butter, sesame oil.
uh hmm, you could try a straightener? There isn't really any products that I know of that would straighten your hair. (But of course I'm no beautician.)

Your hair's supposed to have oil.
loveanime101 2 years ago
That would be due to the fact that it was still a little wet at the time from just washing it. :) (sraile)

Baking soda? is that safe?
skunkfromtheashes 2 years ago
Yes, but i'm not sure i'd want to use it everyday to wash my hair. We used to use it to get rid of hairspray buildup.
