alright im a trumpet and yeah we might be cocky but 99% of the time its because were the strongest section! and if you have a problem with a screamer holding over you need to watch old DCI videos especially of the bluedevils because thats all they did
@phantomcoats94 In my highschool band (all of them, concert, marching, jazz) the low brass is easily the strongest section. Really, only one of our trumpets ever play out...
@phantomcoats94 That's why judges can't penalize them, because they play unjudgeable bullshit and march unjudgeable bullshit, but it "looks pretty" and "sounds clean." Never use the Blue Devils as a bench mark.

I took that and put it on a site called Noteflight for easier viewing and added some things, changed the rhythm a bit so it sounded less choppy and more connected, this also makes it easier to see. I wish I was in a band were after rehearsal we would still be happy enough to all simultaneously play Hey Soul Sister and be having fun while playing beautifully.
@MrSaxySeb Because it screams Carolina Crown (go look at their Madonna encore from 2010). Again, I know they're digging in and having fun -- that's the important thing, but it just bugs me to see that sort of cheese coming from my beloved Bluecoats.
Anyone know the high note that the trumpet holds out after the cutoff?
