Thank you guys for your concern. Elaine, he was tickled to death at this video, he went around telling everybody about you guys coming up to the mine and how nice you all really were. thank you so much for a wondeful song and video. this was one of the songs played at his funeral. He really loved you guys and your music
I love this song and the Roys! TO THE ROYS -- THANK YOU for creating such a great song and video! It not only gives credit where credit is more than due, but can also educate others about coal and the miner's hard work to keep our lights burning and much more. I am proud that my father was a coal miner. I have lived in the city for many years now, and am still amazed at the people in the city that are so completely clueless.
my husband worked in that mine. he is in the video. in june of last year he took a job for a different company. he got killed in those mines in august. i watch this video everyday to remind me that he died doing what he was so proud of. he kissed me and the kids every morning before he left and told us how much he loved us. i sure do miss my coal minin' man.
@cneace4439 This is Elaine with The Roys. I just read your email and I am bawling. So so sorry to hear about your husband. I am not sure which miner he was but all of the miners we met that day touched our hearts. At every show we talk about our video and how touched we were by the men and women we met that day at the mine. We are honored to represent every miner that dedicates their lives to bettering ours. God Bless you and your Family in your time of sorrow. Elaine Roy
We should Always Give Our Coal Miners More Credit than what they Deserve.... I'm Proud of Our Coal Miners!!!! God Keep Your All Mighty Hand upon our Coal Miners!!!

@xXlovelostXxHD ..Hi...they lived in Fitchburg Mass.now there in Middlton Nashville,TN...look up The Roys on Twitter,,there also on Facebook..you can get more info there..they have a website that tell you were they play..i hope i help you a litte..were are you from? maybe that would help me.........Lee and Elaine Roys are brother and sister,,there also my cousins.i'm very proud of them,,they write there own songs.have great voices..you gotta love The Roys!!
My Dad worked in the coal mines for 30 years. He laid on his back and crawled on his hands and knees. He used a # 4 coal shovel and he had to fill a coal car that held 2 and a half tons. He got paid 50 cents a car. Daddy never complained even when his hands split open and bled because his thin gloves had shredded. He died a slow, horrible death. I have the highest regard for anyone who makes a living in the coal mines.
I have heard this song several times, and each time I hear it, it becomes even more dear. You really know how to tell the story of a coal mining mand Roys, I hope you make it all the way to Branson, and take this song to Number 1 on the charts. It means alot to have this story told, as only a country band can sing it. Loved the music. God Bless You .!!
Great song thank for putting it up
