i knew it was a bestseller and i wanted to read it, it´s interesting the vision of this woman about the food, i remember both my grand mother, even physically it´s amazing the resemblance, she had the same habits as Mireille states in her books, she´ is indeed charming
I think she is so tremendous, reminds me of my elegant high school french teacher. i want to grow older gracefully with a trim body and good habits for long life feeling pretty. I love to watch her and read her books. great tips on beauty eating everything!
Meireille is really lovely! French women are typically very secretive when it comes to their beauty and style regimes, and it`s nice to see someone like Meirelle, who`s willing to share her secrets, and with no arrogance!
I have her book "French Women Don't Get Fat" and I followed it on holiday and lost weight and was still VERY satisfied in my eating because I slowed down and actually TASTED & savoured the bites of dessert instead of mindlessly bingeing on them. Her book is awesome; so helpful!
Ah ah ah! I'm french (and also a women ;), so i really find this stuff funny!
French women definitly get fat! Trust me! Though in France, we have some rules, like eating vegetables/fruits (minimum 5 a days) and have 4 meals/days.
I've lived 6 months in a german family and i got fat! (5 kilos) because there were no rules (especially about the meals at specific times).
Anyway, i think women and also people whereever they come from get fat without practising sport and with eating snacks/kfc...
That is so true about using a knife and fork when eating...when I had a French exchange student staying at my house, we all thought it was weird when she cut up her cheeseburger at mcDonalds, while we just bit it in huge mouthfulls!
ha! what a bum thing to do giving that silly french teenage girl that all american shame, the heart clogger, the fried sludgeball! a mcdonaldsland evil favorite
I love Mireille's books and I love her softness in her videos and the music is so beautiful to go with...good common sense advice...love it! Thank you Mireille!
She makes sense. The secret to being healthy and "perfect" for yourself is eat less and exercise more. The most importnat thing about eating is making time to prepare and to eat what you prepare. The skill of cooking is lost with the modern busy life style. Also making eating a social occassion for the family and friends. Oh I am married to the one of a new breed of French women who can't cook! Darn lucky I'm a chef!
nthstd They're not a new breed, sadly. My belle-mere was the world's worst. You'd think that growing up in Paris during the 1920's,she'd know what good food is- but no. He food was simply abominable!
I've read somewhere that her book is based on French women mainly from Paris and that in the surounding areas of Paris the women are not very slim. If you go to ritziest and wealthies cities around the US, you'll find their denizens made up very trim women impeccably dressed. I love the French but people need to stop hero worshipping them.
You are right, I live in Montreal and around 3/4 of the woman have a BMI under 21. In the city, people prefer walking and biking and have whole food markets close at hand. Not every one has that convenience.
I agree, I've been there several times since my husband's son lives there, and it's totally a different way to live, healthier but also women are trendy, in fashion, beautiful.... could it have something to do with the French inheritance?
Yes I am... it's because when I read 'mexicanbananas' I got the idea... and of course I would like to share this and thinking that you were closer I thought we could encourage our selves through this path. Thanks for answering!
i've read the first one, but not the second one yet. I have tried it, and I seem to want to eat at night more than during the day. maybe if i eat more during the day, i won't want to eat as much at night..?
Hi! Sorry for the delay... mmm well at least we should try, let me follow your advice and I'll let you know, ok? cuz I'm really craving sugar at night....in the mean time good luck!!!
