I found that a couple of hours with the vaselline is enough, but no way I can use all that duct tape on my gorilla ankle. I put a drop of jelly on the hole, then I place the casing of a pill or tablet on top, and then put a band-aid or bandage. And when the tail sticks out I put the tweezers much lower! Why grab the very tip and risk to break it?

@bluegirly4321 You need to watch more botfly extraction vids... duct tape is exactly what you should use. No need to go to a doctor. The idea is to starve the botfly of oxygen, forcing it to come up for air, which is when you extract them.

you should've just put some plastic household foil on it and vaseline under it. That will suffacate the botfly larva. It's what dr advice to do. It's all over the internet.
