@smanthony1 the crosses are simple, it is the story of the passion of christ. we show the story through the tree. as you see it starts with leaves, then they fall, then it blossoms
Marion Catholic has always been one of my favs at BOA and this show is no exception. They did very well at Indy Regionals and Grand Nats and was glad to seem them both weekends. Very powerful show..
Watched you guys on the Grand Nationals Finals Stream. Very impressed with you guys! Love the show concept. Coming from a Christian School that always does these shows, I feel relieved to know there is more out there spreading His word! God bless and congrats on the Finals Appearance! :D
haha still my favorite grand national band. WAY different from other bands thats for sure, but its what makes you stand out from the rest. You guys are going to do so well in finals(:
I don't think anything will ever beat State in the Rain 2000. :) Miss playing Medusa. :-/ Still, congrats Marian! Excited to see Nationals in a few weeks. :)
What an incredible show! I've never heard Marian marching band do religious music in my few years following them around in competition competition. They always do incredible work but this piece gave me goose bumps!
And that solo with the nails pounding!! Wow. All the bands I heard were wonderful. My hands hurt from clapping. Marian is truly exceptional!! Way to go. :)
@xXOpenlyDiseasedXx They are not trying to force a religious belief on anyone. Just trying to convey the story artistically on the field. Thats almost like saying we shouldn't be allowed to take the field because we are a Catholic school. Not trying to start an argument or anything.
@dudemarian01 Full disclosure: I'm in LPMB, and I have a bit of prejudice against the Catholic church/religion in general, but I kept an open mind to this show. And honestly, although the show was performed beautifully (especially the music! The brass sounded amazing, and I love the frantic runs that they do so often, very well timed), it did make me a bit uncomfortable right around the part where they chanted "Crucify Jesus". I'm assuming this was intended, but it's an awkward uncomfortable.
@dudemarian01 Regardless, it was still executed very well, and the drill was good and clean from what i could see in this video. Congrats to Marian for winning, they truly earned it (and congrats to you if you're a current member!). I'm excited to see the ending for this show, maybe it'll make me fall in love with it! Good luck at the BOA regional this Saturday Marian!
That's not what I'm saying at all. Obviously, being a fan of Marian, I think every show you guys do is done very well. I think it's just my beliefs, but oh well.
Congrats at state and the super regional by the way, although I don't know the scores from the super regional this weekend.
Oh! i get it thats Awsome

They don't deserve first place. They're a good marching band, but it's a kind of boring show.

I feel like Lake Park should have placed way better than they did.
And I also don't think shows portraying certain religions should be allowed in competitions like this, but maybe that's just me.

Thanks for the quick post of the video! Another terrific show. I can't wait to see this one in Indianapolis.
Congrats and kudos to the directors and the band members. I know first hand how much work you put into this, and it shows. Hats off to all!!
See you in Indy!!!
