  • this pc can calculate 1+1 in just few min. !!!!

  • @xRyuBu back then, i didn't realise that it was a big community.. i thought one guy was uploading all these videos lol

  • that looks like my school's pc :D

  • A guy at Fry's Electronics told me that they are now putting power supplies at the bottom of the case instead of the top. They are doing that for better circulation.

  • @essentialeugene yeah a lot of the high end, or gamer cases have them at the bottom. since the power supply isnt taking in extra heat from the components, it remains cool thus extending the life of your power supply. heat and dust are a main problem for computers, they can reduce to life span of the components.

  • this video has confirmed that expert village really are shit

  • looks like.... a pain in the butt

  • what woud happen if i wired the "power, reset, led etc" in the wrong place? i think ive done so & now i have no power at all.. thanks..

  • @kezoy08 just pull them out and put them in the correct place. not that hard stupid :)

  • Goddamn commercials

  • thats so easy shit cant

  • Thank god for modular PSU's.

  • "Bio: Allen Gottfried has been bartending and working in the food service industry for more than three years." ehmm...?

  • god that case is old...

  • Thanks u helped me alot

  • Thumbs up if you thought he was a noob 1 min in!

  • Good tutorial. Power supplies are easy to install, but the LEDS are annoying.

  • HI!

  • vpctek.com

  • ok so who cares if hes a Bartender, building comps is probably just his hobbie :/

  • Hi im Allan & im gay :D

  • wow a 1990 costom nice !!!!

  • BUT PLEASE SOMEONE ANSWER WHY THIS GUY WORKS ON BAR OR ALCOHOL WORLD IDK, AND IS SO GEEK (?) xD

  • stop leaving mean messages this guy is obviously not comfortable making videos on camera, and its not a good video i give it A+ for effort

  • bartender teaching how to make pc? remindes me of the gardener teach how to cook

  • lol retard village get better all the time

  • thanks

  • @StealthKillerMW Yeah, but its still alot of videos!

  • why is there all that damn text in the way

  • How do I install the OS for the first time in a custom built PC?

  • @daharvster windows im guessing, go onto the boot menu ( it tells you what buttons to press when the machine posts should be f11)then just follow the on screen instructions.

  • @daharvster First of all, check in the BIOS setup if the first boot device is your DVD Drive. You will find that under the "Boot" tab. When that's done, save and exit the bios, and put your installation cd into the DVD drive, and then just follow the on-screen instructions, it should be pretty simple.

  • That system is very outdated, the case is from like 1998. Thanks for the general information though.

  • @wjz10595

guessed 1997 right before reading your comment :)

  • @Knaris Yeah, I have a few of those computers that look quite similar. I think the guy in the video took apart an old computer to prove his point, and to show how to assemble a computer. I suggest using a more recent model considering the fact that technology changes everyday, for better or worse. I want to redo this video, but I don't have any anti-static gear, and don't really want to touch my processor. By the way, I have a Dell Dimension 8400.

  • Making a computer is like solving a puzzle sometimes. Some mother boards are a nightmare!

  • look at all those pci slots! lmao! what is this thing, a pentium 3? i guess a pc made after 2003 is just too damn hard to find lol! what am i saying, 2008 was the golden age of pc building, 4 gigs of ddr2 for $40! just try buying 2 gigs for that price today :(

  • wow... This user has got 138 797 videos! OMFG! WTF!!!!

  • @eilif9 its not his account expert village has alot of users

  • the positive and negative does not matter for the power button

    it is a button

you can put it in backwards and there would be no difference

it just connects the positive to the negative

to find there the power button goes I take a small knife and start making connections between the pins then I stick it in

  • Windows sucks.

  • Comment removed

  • @Joseph9536 That is a really good argument. You must have dwelled on that thought for days.

  • 0:01

  • I have a corsair 1000W psu! That power supply you are installing sucks! Why would one put suck a crappy psu in his pc! LOL!

  • @Zulfikaar219

    I'm getting to 650 PSU, with HD 5770 :D

  • @nullins Thats overkill man, only need a 550W ATLEAST.

  • @ozzyguy67

    :O

  • @ozzyguy67

The 650 was cheaper than the 550W :O

  • @Zulfikaar219 Why would he bother putting a 1000w psu into a PC that only uses 200w????

A 1000w psu would deliver the power required less efficiently so it would be stupid to do so, not to mention the PSU costs a lot more.

    NOOB!

  • Comment removed

  • what a dinosaur of a rig

  • lol i have that same case lool

  • ''Iternal speaker which in this monstrous speaker which really delivers great soin. NOT!'' haha that make me laugh.

  • pfff!! its very difficult! but i will try that either i go to a technic and pay 25 euros .bliack

  • very old stuff ur putting in this...

  • Did this guy steal some parts from Compaq?

I mean have mercy, dude, get some new stuff.

  • @frickfrock999

its an older vid, its obvious. or he is using old stuff because his new stuff is in his PC.

  • Okay man...now i have nvidia9500GT 1GB and it sucks ... and i'm planning to change to GTX280..but before that how do i check whether the graphic card supports my computer or not ?

    I have intel core duo 2 5Ghz

    Nvidia Geforce9500GT

    4GB Ram..

What i hear is that if the graphic card does not support my computer,it will explode..so i need help with this please !

  • @syafiqpilot The graphics card will not explode, it may not work, but it won't explode. The main issue is the number of Watts your power supply puts out, you want at LEAST 450 watts, the other issue is how much space you case has, the GTX 280 is a very large card, so make sure you have more than a foot of space between the slots in the case that your video output is on and your hard drives at the front. worst thing that can happen is that you will need a new power supply and a new case.

  • @xmodalloy How to check for Power supply that i have currently ?

  • @syafiqpilot pull off the side of your computer case, and you should see the PSU at the top left, on the side or bottom it should say the wattage.

  • @syafiqpilot check if you have agp slot or a PCI slot, look up pci slot on google images and take a look at some pictures then look on your mother board and if u have the same one as the one in the picture then it is compatiable, but if you get a new one u need a new power supply

  • Is there a standard size for power suppies? Like if I were to have a micro atx case.. What sort of power supply would suit it? Cause I believe they can only have limited power or something?

  • Hmmm ... what about "how turn on your pc? I would like to help my grandma :)

  • old pc is super super old, its got agp and the mobo was released before ATX 12 volt xD, no pci-e, like 9 pci, not to mention he's doing this in a pre built workstation from an oem with propritary parts like the case psu and mobo.

if your gonna post a video like this, dont forget to upload it the same year you make it, not 6 years later

  • what voltage do i need for an ati 5970 radeon?

  • @thegreatgingerness 700w would be best.

  • @SeaShellNecklaceBrah ty vurry much

  • how do you find a power supply that you know is gonna fit perfectly like that

  • your stupid subtitles gotta bgo it blocks important video. Take it off!! LOL

  • @rednes800 hey you see the triangle thing on the corner of the video click it then click the CC button which turns off subtitles :D

  • i have a question

my power supply is 550 watts and i wanted to add a new graphics card that as a minimum of 500 watts (+12 at 36 amps) can i use it ?

    Plz replay

  • yes probably, what is the graphics card you are planning on installing? 36A should be enough though.

  • is there any good way to keep excess wire out of the way?

  • Hey if the higher wattage the power supply you get does it mean the power supply in size will be bigger?

  • a ati radeon on full load takes 450watt i recomennd a powersuply of 1500 2000 watss damn thos cards are biig and need a lot of enercy :(

  • idk about tht. from what im seeing the card uses a bit over 300 watts at load and about 47 idle. if u were two use 2 of those bad boys than ya. but for one no way do u need a 2000 watt PSU.

  • lool i have 12 GB DDR3 Core I7 SLI 1000w PSU but am a gamer and a 3D video editor

  • hey guys my internet connection is pretty slow its wireless any idea how i make it fast? cos if i play a game it usually stucks and after awhile it goes back + if i play something like counterstrike or something i have very high ping like 400+600+ anyone can help me?

  • a better router may help. but just going with a good ol' ethernet cable directly would be best.

  • ive been thinking of getting an ATI Radeon HD 5970 but im unsure whether ill have to upgrade my PSU. my current specs are i7 920@2.67ghz, 12gb ram, 2 GTS 250's in SLI, and a creative labs soundblaster "fata1ity edition". my CPU is also liquid cooled. im using a 1000 watt PSU atm.

  • mate you will have to upgrade the hole pc

why in fuck would u need 12gb ram? wast of money.

i sick of ready kiddy comments on every pc video . you stuped fucking nerds

    mines better no mines better

    hahahaha maggots

  • I agree 4gigs of ram is all you need.Hell you can live a good life with only 2.

  • get w/ the times dude. 4 gigs is laughable now adays. 2 gigs is mediocre. im not saying everyone shoul dbuy a rig w/ 12 gigs of ram but if ur a gamer u should hav at least 6. games are starting to raise the amount of ram recommended to run their games and will continue to. i will never go back to less then 12. i love it.

  • well if you had 12gb of ram you wouldn't need to upgrade it very much

  • upgrade the whole pc? y the fuck would i upgrade the whole damned pc. i could easily buy another PSU rated for a higher wattage no problem and installl it. btw i was just looking for a second opinion. that card consumes 300 watts at full load same w/ both my 250's combined. u Ausies are just like ur English brothers. biggoted fools.

  • So all of the leftover cables are interchangeable?

  • wow! thank you very much! with ur help i built my computer without paying someone to do it! 5/5

  • perfect video for beginner pc builders

  • Your video helped me a lot, thanks for that dude !

  • @trezapook \

    not

  • Are any power supplies compatiable with any computer? because I am abit confused.

  • @SeeN0More

    no not any sorry

  • No they are not. They have to meet the requirements for the other hardware installed. Too weak of a power supply and you're not going to be doing crap. Also you have the power breakdown with rails and such, but that usually only deals with video and maybe some other minor things, but that's in serious rigs and I don't think you'd be asking that question and building a serious rig. Anyways, no not every power supply is compatible with every computer.

  • thanks, one of the more helpful videos out there

  • wtf !! noobs

  • i have an IBM 1995 Desktop i tried setting it up but it is running to slow. is it possible to make the computer run fast like a 2005 or 2007 Model computer?

  • Dude get a new computer a 2005 pc doesnt cost that much.

  • Or an i5 or budget AMD system for that matter

  • nope the only thing you can do is change the processor to one that is faster but will still fit in your board then you need to change your ram chips but they may not work with your old system

  • If you want a cheap system from 2005 to 2007 you would have to look in ebay. But a more moder PC won't be that much more costly. On the other hand my first laptop (as second pc) ist a 150 Euro Dell Latitude D600 from ebay. (From 2003) - running WinXP for surfing the net and watching video from my bed :)

  • You're a dummy.

  • i just built a custom pc and after about 20 minutes it'll freeze up, i can't even move the mouse, memory test came back ok, what can be causing this?

  • I just had the same problem, first thing to check is that the power supply is actually working (i.e. the fan is spinning) as some power supplies wont work for some systems, as i found out the hard way, so the pc will just freeze to prevent damage. The other thing is, if youre running windows 7, try swapping the ram to the alternative slots on the motherboard.

  • i can feel air being brought into the power supply and i am running windows 7 and have tried using one stick at a time and still will freeze up

  • likely graphics card!

  • i had to up the voltage to my RAM, thx for the input tho.

  • check your drivers for everything

  • question, i'm playing online games. and when i start playing my computer will shut down. why is that so? do i need to replace my power supply?

  • It's most likely a heat issue. If your fans are variable, do they speed up right before it shuts down?

  • download the program speedfan, you can control fan speed and have em at 100 all the time

  • maybe virus :D

  • Need help with this question. Last night i was on my comp and then it shut down on it's own. I immediately turned it back on and I heard and saw the short coming from power supply, saw tha sparks. I took out the ps. It was a 450w, Would this harm motherboard, cpu or hd????

  • Yes it can, strongly recommend you to get a new one.

  • I've had that happen, try replacing the power and hope for the best with the mobo.

  • Expert Village is soooo pooor!! :D That PC looks like from 1998 or somthing :D :D MegaDrive era!

  • Im pretty sure that it's just i5 and i7 as new releases (I may be wrong I just haven't heard about i8 or i9)

  • Question I've also been able to use the HD & HQ tabs on Youtube but all of a sudden I no longer have this ability. Does anyone know if Youtube downgraded or is it just my computer?

  • only videos uploaded in HD or HQ will have such buttons.

  • you suck. ^^

  • I'm sorry, my memory must be bad, because I don't remember asking for your opinion, so how about going back to your redneck vids kapeesh?

  • no, only i7 i5 and i3

  • This guy is obvisously not a certified tech. If he was, he would have mentioned how importmant it is to use a anti-static wrist strap or at the very least, to ground yourself on the installed powersupply. STATIC can destroy your unprotected componets, like your mainboard, video card, etc. Not using proper anti-static precautions is like playing russian roulette with your componets.

  • True.

and he has the case resting on a towel...

    WTF

  • @RedAlpha3 Or you can just touch the inside of the chassis to ground yourself.

  • i got the same computer at home!

cept my power supply id broken

    the resisters burnsed out =/

  • Very useful

  • Thanks a lot I save money from this video. Thanks buddy ..see also HOW TO Videos HOW2ANSWERS NET

  • Comment removed

  • The motherboard is from 1999-2001 somewhere, i have that one to.

  • wow this computer is extremely old. im guessing maybe late 90's early 00's

  • then you guess wrong, 4 ram holes

  • that is 1 old mother fcking comp zzzz

  • ahahhahahaha lol he does sort of look like eminem hahahaha!!!!

  • what if the fan is pointing upward, cause my case will have the fan working and the top of the case will block the air flow

  • pause at the second the video starts, literally 0:00, he looks like eminem

  • You're...right?!?!?!?! O_O"

  • @rethedred

    HOLY SHIT!

  • 4 times..

  • whats ur CPU

  • If you do not know this you relay should not consider making a custom PC.

... it is the Central Possessing Unit (possessor)

  • BRAVO

  • count how many times he says that

  • is this guy a buttyboy? he said "pain in the butt" like 30 times

  • lol I am putting a 650 watt into my Sony vaio PCV-RS 420 and a ATI RADEON Saphire and there is no space for the PSU. Well time to start cutting pieces out of the case.

  • Y dont u just get a bigger case?

  • I can't that is when I am gonna start building my pc. But you won't believve this I found a PSU that actually fits the small case it is 550 watt PSU.

  • Does anyone know where a good place to build a custom pc online is? Alienware seems to expensive for nothing really special. Thanks in advance.

  • Pc Case Gear is reallly good and ic heap i buy all my parts form there and they have a Huge range

  • IBuyPower. com Theyre THE BEST!

  • haha my comp is crap compaired to this one got a lame dell 2350 with dual 50gb harddrives 1024mb of ram crappy stock vid card intel celeron processor running windows XP operating system iv also got another comp for gaming but the MB is shot all i know about it is its and old Asus brand comp its got AMD parts in it

  • nice job

  • i think i stuffed up my power box thingy cos my computer wont start up

  • no.

  • your lucky the wires that turn the power on the front i bought a case from xoxide and all the wires from the front were 1 wire 1 connector unlike yours were its 2 wires 1 connector

  • Everytime I play crysis my computer shuts down and restarts, is it my power supply?

  • actually it could be because your computer is overheating. check the temperatures when you are playing crisis.

  • k. I was just wondering because I just installed a 9500 gt and was looking at the minimum power specifications which is 350 watts and my psu is only 300 watt.

  • you should get at least a 400 watt psu. Go with a corsair because they are the best company.

  • i have a 9800 GT and mine is a minimum 400 watt... but for 10 more bucks just get a 500 watt

  • yea but your graphics card is different and requires more power to use then his does.

  • but im saying you shouldnt get the bare minimum PSU so if you do want to upgrade you dont have to buy another PSU again.

  • I have that same power supply!

  • is that ram ddr2 667 still able play recent games?

  • building it is only half the work............u still have to install drivers.....operating system......set all your crap in the bios to the apropriate settings.......and troubleshoot your problems.........we all get problems with custom pcs........and dont deny that......even if its a small problem that u have to use your brain for like 5 minuts.........weve all had problems with custom rigs.....with mine...took me a month to figure out why my motherboard didnt accept my video card......so.

  • It took you a month because your retarded!

  • LOL

  • while the total wattage is important, you gotta make sure your getting good amperage

most PC's actually only use about 100watts or less, but more gives you stability

  • What kind off crap are you using? Computers normally have 200+ watts nowadays!
