... despite the critics and everyone elses opinion ... i DID enjoy the movie it wasn´t too bad ...
well it wasn´t too good either but it was good ... at least for me ... and i´m actualy fine with how the story turned out ... and imo it also had another massage ... that NOTHING can be forever ...
I worry that John Logan is one of the writers of the new James Bond, after this turkey of a film. I hope he does a better job on the James Bond movie that's coming up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know, I think the real difference for this and a lot of the later next gen movies is that the fans of the earlier stuff were replaced with bitchy, nitpicking little kids that hate everything.
the story was so incredibly poor.. there are no words for it. the look of these fracking remans is retarded beyond everything. plus the plot with the planet they go to with the yacht and the atv is so lame, it's crappy as shit. killing off data was doing no good nor fullfilled any plausible reason but to create a bit of lame ending-drama. the director IS guilty because he had the power to change major plots or cut it differently. sadly he was an idiot and threw the shit together like a noob.
Instead of having this Logan clown write the script, why didn't they have one of the dozen or so writers for the Next Generation? At least they knew what they were doing.
@jackflak1979 now, like any good Trek fan, Im not a fan of Nemesis but don't be a dick and just judge Logan who was involved in a great movies like Gladiator, The Aviator and has received awards for his work. If you want to blame people for that movie, through in Rick Berman and Brent Spiner too.
Shinzon and B-4 should have been combined into the same character. And it should have been Lore. He was a pre-established brother of Data, he already had motivation for revenge, and Data could still have sacrificed himself to save the crew, leaving Lore, perhaps incapacitated from the final battle, to act as a potential receptacle for Data's backed up memories and knowledge.
@dannyboylee Heck, and since it is Nemesis, it would fit Lore perfectly. Have the Romulans trying to work on Lore after finding him, he and some of his former Borg minions steal the Romulans' newest ship, instant crisis and instant backstory....
The toast Picard gives, "To absent friends." is the same toast Kirk gave in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, when Spock is the missing friend in the same context that Data is a missing friend.
@ACLTony In the comics, later on, B-4 eventually starts calling himself Data and begins displaying more of his characteristics. He even becomes a Captain.
I agree that this movie was very subpar as far as star trek goes. It's not that the themes explored in the movie were bad, it's simply overall not a great trek film. Kudos to the entire cast, they did everything could to improve this film, and they've always been an inspiring lot ;D
Yes... I'm truly sorry for the misfortune the cast endured for their final outing with this director. They DESERVED a better movie. I still enjoyed it, but it just wasn't the movie that should have ended the series.
Stuart Baird, you should be ashamed for not doing your homework. I don't know how you got the job, but you and your ego destroyed the last chance the cast had at a satisfying exit.
@talaxian1 you know what? you're right. i'm one of those that blamed the director as well. i think it's just the sheer anger and disappointment with the way it ended. it is the writer's fault, but i just wanna blame everyone involved. i just hated that ending SO much....

@dannyboylee Yeah, we never saw Lore disassembled. Maybe some Ferengi stole the parts.

@Pilaf1984 Great. A mildly retarded android with schizophrenia can be a captain. Why not?

@Nexus52085 the actors blame the director,... why I do not know. The problem with this film was the WRITING!
