  • where exactly is it?

  • Is that the king of limbs?

  • Seems you can't listen to Radiohead these days without comparisons to Muse. So here's my comparison: Muse is to Radiohead as The Monkees are to the Beatles.

  • Video: eh, song: magical!

  • And now we know where the Yorke tree came from.

  • my favorite parts of the song is the guitar from 0:29-0:37. but i love the whole song in general. Radiohead id say is today's Pink Floyd, and thank god for that because majority of music today has gone to shit.

  • @TheVideoPimp i think its pixelation my good friend

  • Daul inspired?

  • Radiohead is the sun and all of the other bands are the planets that revolve around them. BOW DOWN TO THE RADIOHEAD, THE BAND OF OUR GENERATION!

  • where do you think muse got inspiration from? Join the community lads...its called sharing...

  • There are few band that can make me feel the way that Radiohead makes me feel, I can't really describe it... euphoric? Orgasmic? Even those are understatements.

  • We are accidents waiting, waiting to happen..

  • Sorry man. Damon. I was a dick and I apologize

  • ok. just checked out Amanda Palmer. To think she's on the same level as Yorke and Albarn is madness. Stop polluting your brain.

  • whos amanda palmer

  • The only two modern musical genius' is Thom Yorke and David Albarn with gorillaz.

  • @25freakboy You forget Amanda Palmer.

  • Radiohead and Muse are poles apart, and are both great bands.

I honestly don't understand why people compare them. They sound totally different to me.

    Like comparing AC/DC to Metallica.

  • I completely agree with you, Erik

  • i remember this album came out at the same time as harry potter 5. every time i listen to it, i think of the book.

  • @mulidorerik i love harry potter & radiohead. alot.

  • Nothing could possibly best Thom Yorke wandering in a forest full of magic animals. In Stop Motion.

  • @ZabuzaBMR I agree. Very strongly agree!

  • yet being the keyword

  • Best band in the world by far!! You lot rock any other band out there..!!

  • I thank God for giving us such bands... here here.

  • I can't help but get the feeling that at the start of this film Thom Yorke was hating every minute of it. From some of these frames you can just imagine someone telling him instructions and he replies "What, like this? I feel like a fucking idiot."

    Anyone else get that feeling.

But supremely cool premise, Thom Yorke stumbling through old English fables. Loved the cat wedding, i see that peter rabbit was attending.

  • got wood?

  • i'm sick of radiohead muse comparisons... the impossibility for muse to ever reach radiohead should be cemented in everyones heads by now

  • @nnoised well ya i mean they are completely different bands with different types of music so you can't compare

  • fantastic mr.fox anyone?

  • it's a little like king of pain by the police

  • @fuckamericanidiot you just read my mind

  • @MinkyBoodle44 king of pain you mean?

  • Why the fuck there is always some idiot who come on radiohead songs to praise muse...?????? We are know Muse is B.S compare to Radiohead..

  • yo, muse:

i'mma let you finish, but radiohead is one of the best bands of all time.

  • @MacbethTilDeath muse and radiohead are nothing alike.

  • Comment removed

  • pure legends

  • what means the videoclip¿?

  • I immediately thought of Human Behavior by Bjork, which is not to say that this video is a copy of that, but it certainly has the same sort of feel. Which is great, because I love them both, and of course the music in both videos is of a very high quality.

  • i have underestimated radiohead until i actually started digging into this band ... i now realize

  • i feel like a terrible human for having never known This song had a music video! D:

the lyrics are so true to life.

    its phenomenal.

  • I have experienced this parylyzing feeling of anxiety many, too many times. Great interpretation

  • 4:04 to 4:06 thats how I run

  • @MrSupacow haha thats funny ! ....no offense sorry if it did

  • @MrSupacow LOL!!!

  • this track makes me shiver for some reason...

  • Just 'cause you feel it, doesn't mean it's there :D Best band of the last 30 years IMO.

  • an ok song? i mean, are you deaf? are you listening to johnny greenwood?(guitar)

  • hail to the thief is the most excellent sick badass album radiohead has ever released. they should make more music like this. love it!

  • Intro and end are cut... live versions are far more better

  • thom's face in 3:36-3:39 lol :)

  • art

  • for some reason i always thought this song would have been good in Fight Club. i think about it everytime

  • I love the idea that he's observing these little animals in these affectionate human-like scenes but because he's a human he can't very well be a part of them. A anxiety-suffering depressed and alienated person might view others this way - as would someone who has been alienated from normal life through fame.

Then the forest devours him and he becomes another tree. Gives it a very fairy tale nightmares ending.

Personally I would have loved to see Thom have friendly interaction in this tho.

  • amazing video and song!!!

  • sick guitar

  • this is the better video and song ever

  • I hate this version of the song, the live acoustic version recorded in paris is my favourite radiohead recording of ALL time...its on youtube, find it

  • I like the less frames per seconds

  • I think it was inspired by Bjork's song - Human Behaviour. I think Thom once quoted that her song Unravel was his most favorite and a big inspiriation.

  • This is very reminiscent of Fantastic Mr. Fox (although this video predates that movie)

  • @4fitter27 good observation

  • why thank you good sir

  • I think it was based on a British kid's show that Thom and his son watched.

  • wow

  • Their best song. 'nuff said. 8)

  • i disagree. its up there, but i would have to say the best is how to disappear completely.

  • Man this song has grown on me so much over the years... probably in my top 10 Radiohead songs now.

  • Continued from below...

....But if u ask me i say if u watch the video it may help because of the symbolism but "Just 'cause you feel it doesn't mean it's there," i think its outside influences telling you not 2 believe as 4 when he said "There's always a siren Singing you to shipwreck, (Don't reach out, don't reach out Don't reach out, don't reach out)Steer away from these rocks, We'd be a walking disaster" outside influences at times try 2 make you feel as if your intentions r misconceptions,

  • Perception is entitled 2 each individual, as 4 2 individuals could look at a painting & have completely different opinions, this we all know. The only that way we mite know if we talked 2 the artist themselves, but music is like parables 1 person could at one time feel one thing and at another time feel another with the same song, this we all know. But who is 2 say one perception is wrong and another is rite, or all of them is rite, or sum of them is wrong, this we all know.....

  • They are all perceptions of truth and correlations of information assessed by relations of truth created through repeatedly perceived patterns. They are all correct.

  • when do these guys get knighthoods i mean seriously

  • Comment removed

  • @whiteflagfrench i would imagine that it'd mean nothing to them

  • @whiteflagfrench I know this is late so dont laugh but the queen of england knighted radiohead?

  • @BwackGul No they dont have knighthoods yet .

  • @BwackGul Now that would be something worth seeing.

  • what sets radiohead apart is that they dont give a shit who muse is and it should be vice versa just enjoy both groups as seperate bands and maybe life might get a little easier for im not a bullshit youtube critic im out gangsta

  • From 2:30 until the end sounds absolutely awesome. Definitely in my Radiohead top-5 songs.

  • amen grizzly

  • Muse is great and I'm a huge fan but what set's Radiohead a part is the lyrics. Yorke's lyrics are freakin genius. Some of the best lyrics ever written. He's talking about stuff that's..... godly.. Similar to Pink Floyd in that it's all about evolution and becoming mentally powerful. that's why at the end of the day Radiohead may go down as one of the best ever and Muse will be far behind.

  • @ErikGrizzly

Whatever that last muse hit was with all the cowboys and shit in the video... the melody was straight stolen from the end of paranoid android... Muse is a joke...

  • @poopyscoopy5 It is similar, but it is by no means "straight stolen" you are silly. Muse and Radiohead are both phenomenal band, and it's foolish to compare the two, because they are two completely different bands who only shared an inkling of a relationship at the start of their careers, both have branched off to entirerly different planes now, in short both are fantastic.

  • @Adam1349

MUSE! haha sorry.... i agree, both completely different now, and both branching into things they, as artists, are interested in. :)

so dont hate, cuz that doesnt do ANY good

  • @ErikGrizzly Well said. To Yorke is a musical genius, and the finest lyricist I have ever listened to

  • @ErikGrizzly I completely agree man.

Radiohead's lyrics are a clear cut above Muse's. In addition, I believe that Radiohead's songs, by and large, seem much less pretentious than a lot of Muse's.

But regardless, I have a great deal of respect for both bands. Hope that they keep making great music for a long time.

  • @ErikGrizzly

radiohead is pink floyd grand son

    pink floyd rocks forever

  • @ErikGrizzly Even Muse know they're far behind Radiohead, plus they were influenced by them too. And I really do love muse, but Radiohead are genius.

  • Muse have some absalutly awsome songs (exogenisis, the whole album of of Absolution) but really, what where they thinking on the new album? Exogenisis was the only bearable thing on it, the rest was simply pop songs and sellouts. And a really shite Queen homage.

  • By far and away Radiohead's best song. F*ckin genius.

  • radiohead has the coolest videos.

  • Anyone know who directed this?

  • you are ruining the song talking about muse. This is one of RH best songs

  • Great song and video! I love it! One of their best videos!

  • Muse is more alt rockish, like early Radiohead. They're like a Radiohead that never evolved.

  • in a good way thou

  • They sound like Split Enz

  • muse is a copy of radiohead (i dont even like radiohead that much)

  • This Song is Ket

  • muse... rofl

    rofl... muse

  • Muse can only wish they had half the talent that radiohead had when they came out with pablo honey......there's no other band out there that can compare with the talent level every member of the band has now.....don't believe me, watch scotch mist the 52 minute whole thing.....

  • i'm actually making fun of them...

muse is garbage compared to radiohead

  • in fact i think even though muse was inspired in rh's pablo honey, that showbiz was a stronger album than "honey" but radioheads and muses music took different choices and id say theyre both genius in theyre own way... and if you think muse sucks youve probably only heard the most poppy mainstreamy songs.. (supermassive bh, starlight) hear some absolution... (blackout)

  • i guess people really like muse

  • hear muses exogenesis 3 parts... then dare to rofl muse again...

  • This video reminds me of both Tonight Tonight by the Pumpkins and Hunter by Bjork.

  • This band are still the best.. Still doing it, when many lost their way. Don't even mention Muse, those fucktards..

  • Thom can do whatever he'd like with his fingers. ;D

but on a serious note, not only is this song a masterpeice, but the video is a work of art too. very well done!

  • Thom has Treefingers.

  • long live radiohead!, there arent many meaningful bands these days, these put the Muse in music! :D

  • There is no muse in music.. :D

  • Is it me or does it cut at the end? Its not the same as the CD version, is it? I don't know

  • it's the radio edit. repeated parts of sections are usually cut in half for music videos for two reasons. one: it helps with the flow of the visuals so they don't have to repeat similar shots throughout a section and two: to retain peoples attention when "less catchy" parts of songs are drawn out. great songs fall victim all the time

  • Awesome video to go along with a brilliant song.

But search THERE THERE LIVE here on YouTubes to see Thom sing and play this song so lusciously on acoustic guitar, it makes the original electric version seem secondary.

P.S. Cats in tuxedos gives me the shakes.

  • God, this video scared the shit out of me when I was younger. Hell, it still scares the shit out of me.

  • "just cause u feel it, it doesn't mean it's there"

  • yeh this is grate song radiohead!!!!!

  • Radiohead is one of the best bands in this world.

  • agreed, anyone who doesnt see that , is .... well i just say it, fucking stupid.

  • @xPureLukxDit you misspelt,Radiohead is 'the' best band in this world.

  • Radiohead's songs invoke so much imagery. If you close your eyes you feel like you're in the woods. In Weird Fishes, you're underwater. It's great stuff.

  • lol Thom Yorke discovers furries =P

  • OMG LOL LOL LOL LOL 4:39

  • On 4:01 He walks so freaken funny and he starts smiling

  • Was never big into Radiohead. Then I saw this video when I was really stoned, back when it first came out. Since then I've gotten into them in a big way. I could write a thesis on how amazing they are.

  • Please do state your thesis

  • That's why so many guys want to be rock stars...it gives normal guys a big boost.

  • thom Yorke looks different in all of his videos. In "Just" he has orange hair. In Creep his hair is blonde. and in this his hair looks blackish-brown.

  • He used to dye his hair to give himself a more ''rocker'' look. Now, he's come to term with that. Which is a good thing. Gives him is very own image.

  • Creep and Just are 3 years apart... Just and There There are almost a decade apart.

  • Divine Comedy 13 Canto...Thom Yorke is a genius

  • oh thom yorke... i will meet you one day.

even if i have to go 2 weeks without food for it. <3

  • the song and video reminds me of "human behavior" by bjork.....at least i think thats the title of the song. im not a big fan of hers but i like a few songs.

  • love the tribal beat in this song

  • The instrumental part of this song kinda has a Tragically Hip style to it. Great song:P Good video

  • INCREDIBLE!!! JUST INCREDIBLE!!!

  • well hello there thom, quite nice jacket and shoes you got there

  • lol

  • Pretty breathtaking stuff...

Hope you enjoy my music video, though I'm afraid it isn't quite this good :P

  • fuck... thom yorke is a genius!!

    I do love him!

We are accidents waiting to happen!!

  • Hail to the Theif is too often overlooked... It's one of radiohead's best in my opinion.

  • this song shouldve been more popular

  • One of my alltime favs.

  • so beautiful...im in love

  • Lovely
