  • "So on the whole, if Russians ARE going to invade, we prefer them to do it between Mondays and Fridays." Priceless! XD

  • "supposing I were to go mad line" is kind of funny because Nigel Hawthorne (Sir Humphrey) later played George III

  • "So in an emergency I can get straight through to the Soviet President?"

    "Eh, theoretically yes."

    "Theoretically?"

    "That's what we tell journalists.....hahaha"

    BEST LAUGH EVER!

  • best political comedy ever ! i love this show ;) and the funniest thing is that even after 30 years have passed from the time it was made it is still current ! LOL !

    some things never change ;)

  • LOL, the US troops dispersed and picnicked with lady soldiers during the last NATO maneuver.

  • They need to post the full episode of this, this one is awesome hehe.

  • Glad to see they show one of Britain's greatest comedies in Romania!

  • What is this episode called?

  • @britainrules12 'The Grand Design'.

  • The way they talk about nuclear missiles sounds like most of them might not even go off hehe.

  • Where is the hot line?

    Which one?

    The one to russia.

    The re hot line.

    Bernard has some fantastic lines

  • lol great stuff

  • very scary ! this should have an x rating!

  • fortunately Russains had same trouble with their nuke weapons. Submarines were always in hazard of malfunctions, such as reactor cooling systems, and most of the rocket fuel was never ordered for them. Nuclear war during cold war was more a threat than the real danger.

  • @tomenicus makes it sound as if should a nuclear war would erupt, the world may well have been saved by Mutually assured incompetence

  • @tomenicus Almost as if the only purpose as to keep the people on both sides scared and towing the line. Good thing that doesn't happen these days.

  • @jacksawild But incompetence is still assured

  • "Supposing I did and then changed my mind?"

"Thats all right. Noone wud ever know wud they !"

    Brilliant

  • I love the way that actor playing Bernard can barely keep a straight face

  • I think it is all true.

I was talking to someone who was in the Royal Navy during the cold war and he said that the Finish Soldiers knew that if war started they would be dead almost immediately.

As a result they had allowed 2 months on 1 off and were usually blind drunk.

  • That is true! I am Dutch and my dad told me that our armies always went home during the weekends in the coldwar.

  • yes true, and still today its a daytime job, unless you got to the warzone.

  • Wonderful - just wonderful LOL

  • "That tends to cause a bit of panic"

  • I don't know what you don't know

  • Supposing I was drunk?

Supposing I were to go off my rocker?

  • @Emsta What I did... and then changed my mind?

Tht's all right, no one would ever know

  • @Emsta Its alright nobody would ever know!

  • this is so funny brits are amazing
