You should download the roms again and play it. i played if for the forst time in 10 years recently and loved it.

Actually the "ouch" comes from the knight(if i remember right) and the "aargh" from the dragon, the sound is just out of sync :)

It sounds TOTALLY different on my Amiga! Was that on an emulator? Then you might want to try out different sound emulation modes.

finally made it last saturday (what else you got to do then)... i thought of the controls were like too slow - had to turn up the dosbox cpu cycles a bit, then it worked. kind of easy with the sword of sharpness (allthough i never realized, that different swords do more or less damage) .. or maybe i was lucky this day. however, i did it like in the vid, thx.

next time i'll try to keep the buttons pressed. still love this game!

However, there is a catch.. when you upgrade your weapons the number of enemies increases in most places. So, in a way, it gives you advantage only to enemy knights. Usually you get the sword of sharpness from the dragon, i have no idea why the time i made the video the loot was so crappy. Just bad luck i guess.

Just do like i show in the video, walk right to lure it down and back to left to be in right position, immediately when it starts to lower it's head, press up + hit and KEEP THEM PRESSED until the dragon is dead, never release the buttons!

I am confused as to the second sound effect, they sound like two different voices, I thought the second was the player getting hit, but it didn't seem you were getting hurt, is that actually from the dragon as well? Great vid!

that sound was real and not real. in amiga version it sounds better. and that dragon is much harder to execute. in amiga version when u hit the dragon it almost sounds like its yelling "more" like orc sound ^^` in pc mode its just say "au" or "ouch"... pussy dragon -.-

i hope they do moonstone 2 to pc more to fight and maybe 3D version also multiplayeronline version. much bigger map and more enemy and weabons... :P

I think i HAVE to get some amiga emulator and try the game, everyone keeps saying that it was harder, but then again, most people also say that they were not able to kill the dragon even in the pc version.

That being said, have you TRIED the pc version? Do you base that claim on anything? Have you tried this trick with amiga?

In the Amiga Version when the dragon lowers its head, you can run between his feet to the edge of the screen. He cannot kick, eat or burn you there and you can kill it with your overhead swing.

Original, but out of sync.. the "aw" sound should come from the dragon and the other from the knight, now it seems vice versa.

This was done with PC version, let me know if it works also with amiga.

Another dragon trick: press space(to invoke inventory) in map screen and the dragon will change its target. This way you can force it to attack you or anyone else.

thanks for the tip. i actually wasn't using an amiga emulator, but DOSbox to run the PC version. amiga emulators need a kickstart ROM file from a legitimate amiga which is pretty hard to do and i don't think it's even possible in windows vista.

I cant give links because i'm not sure about their legal status, but just google "amiga kickstart torrent" and you will find all the versions easily.. haven't tried with vista but i dont know why they would not work?

to get your own kickstart, you need to have an amiga and a floppy drive for PC that is compatible with amiga floppies. vista lost all support for legacy hardware, so there's no parallel or serial support anymore (or DirectSound ¬_¬) and floppies seem to be limited to 1.44MB 3.5" ones.

i don't realy care now, i have most things ported for commodore 64 and DOSbox and i owned the PC version of moonstone anyway. :D

The audio is just a little bit out of sync, that's all. You can try this yourself, there's no need for "looping", it's easy to pullof. The quality is what the internal record function of dosbox offers, nothing more or less.

Seriously, I remember that I once almost defeated the dragon. Came under his neck and thrust the sword into it.

Unfortunately, a bug appeared at the same moment and my knight cloned. The one under the neck stood still and the one who appeared in front of the dragon died ;) I was inconsolable.

Strange bug.. totally new one for me.

But seriously, that was as heroic as shooting a sleeping dragon in the face with a bazooka :) however, i made this in speedrun sense, doing it in some other way would be way more fun. There is another fun glitch also: Try pressing space(so the item screen comes up) in the map mode, and then back again, and the dragon has changed it's course. This way you can lure it to attack you, or force it to attack someone else if you are in no mood for a fight.
