@lindelcan he's supposedly changed the charecter (well approached it diffrently) i don't know for sure i haven't seen him yet, but from his interviews when he's said it and from people who've seen him says he's change it up a bit (which might not be a bad thing) but i heard him (adam) sing this song and i think chad will always be huey, the one and only forever. But then again i heard a few people who really like adam's new take on the charecter you'll just have to wait and see....
@Xavierss13 Thanks for your reply. I agree...Chad will always be the one and only. I did catch his u/s, Kevin Massey, last month and he was great...similar to Chad. Went back to see Chad a couple of days later to see his 3rd last performance. I still can't believe he left the show!! If you do get to see Adam's Huey, let me know what you think. Don't think I'll be back in nyc for at least another year...question is...will Adam still be there?
@lindelcan well that's for us all to find out... who knows maybe if he sucks we'll get a better guy lqtm but yeah it's all about what happens in his performances. Maybe chad'll come back.... probably not though till they do they're "bring everyone from the original cast it's the last broadway run" but hopefully that won't be for a long, long, long, long, long, long(10 minutes later)long, long, long(5 hours later)long ,long time. Maybe the show'll be on broadway as long as phantom of the opera.
@Xavierss13 Sure hope so!! Saw "Fiddler on the Roof" yesterday. Didn't quite do the same thing for me as "Memphis" does. Don't think anything ever will!!
I listened to Adam Pascal sing this song in a Memphis preview...then I had to come back to this video and listen to Chad. He's Huey, to me. Always will be.
All I can say is "WOW!" Such power and passion in his voice, yet can be so gentle. I was planning on seeing him in the first of November, so I'm very sad that I'll miss his last performance on Oct 23rd.
@GodMadeMe93 I know! i got to see montego but i got chads understudy, he was really good but im so sad ill never get to see chad since hes leaving so soon
@Allissy47 Ohmygosh, YES. I am telling my mom, dad, and boyfriend that he is leaving so I can go see him. My birthday is Wednesday so hopefully that will persuade them, lol. Augh, if I don't see him I will be SO sad. :(
@GodMadeMe93 lucky!! well i definitely cant go cause i live 5 hours away from nyc, plus we were just there and just saw it, but without chad :( hopefully someone will record it or something haha im just hoping he comes back to broadway eventually and then ill just go see him then
@Allissy47 Well there's no guarantee but I really want to go, lol. But I know right? Haha, maybe someone will do a good recording of his last performance.
Omg! It sounds so sad saying that. :( Aww Chad! </3
Amazing. David Bryan can't hold a candle to Chad. I am a born and raised Memphis. David's version lacks soul. It left me flat and the ending was so anti climatic. Chad delivers a soul filled rendition that makes me hold my breath when he reaches that final note. They will start their tour here in Memphis soon and you better believe I'll be there
haha, i love him, except i could help but see a comedic version of young george bush when he performs. hehe. people are got hate on me for this, but it's true.
Hockadoo!! I really enjoyed this show last week. So sick of revivals and glad to see fresh faces and new sounds. David Bryan of BonJovi and Joe Di Pietro collaborated on the score and could become Broadway legends, I hope so!
This show was amazing! It was so much fun and the cast is so nice! My friend and I got a tour onstage at the end of one of the shows and were walking and looking and all of a sudden we hear this guy come up to us and say, "Hey! Guys! Whats up?" And it was Toddrick Hall. It was so funnny(:
Memphis is awesome :) I think Chad's character really makes the show... i met him in july after one of his performances. He was so modest about everything :)
@RachelVictoria53, "remind me again why neither Chad nor Montego won a Tony"? Because sadly the majority of the time it seems as if "the-powers-that-be", seem to have 'their own" picks.
I can't get over how much he puts into this performance alone. He looks in character the entire time, like he truely means every word he sings with such a passion. I would love to see him in this musical!!!
Memphis is the best show on Broadway. I've seen it 5 times and could see it another 5. Chad Kimball was truly robbed of the Tony. No one could have delivered a more captivating, powerful performance on every imaginable level. I've seen just about everything on Broadway and in the last month, went to Million Dollar Quartet and Promises, Promises. Memphis raises the barre so much, everything else pales by comparison. It makes you want to get up and dance. A sequel would be fantastical. Hockadoo

Watched 3 musicals (Memphis, Mary Poppins and Wicked) over 2 days last weekend while on a 3 day trip to NYC. Unfortunately, we chose Memphis as the first musical to watch. It killed the other 2 musicals' enjoyment level for us!!! Yes, it rocks and the energy and singing level blew us away. Montego is the best female voice I heard on Broadway. The whole cast is fabulous!! The singing, the dancing is outstanding. Would watch Poppins, Wicked and then Memphis in order to enjoy all 3 best.
From the moment I saw this show back in Dec 2009 in NY I knew it would be at the TONY"S,,,,, and now it has just won the Tony for BEST MUSICAL and 3 other Tony's..... Chad and Montago were robbed,,,,,,,,, But BEST MUSICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Boy, I'm so sorry I missed out on this musical, I just found out about it today. Has anyone here seen the other musical with Montego Glover called, 'Saint Heaven'? That one looked really good too. Thanks for posting this video.
Shows like Memphis gave Broadway its good name. Memphis set a new standard from which musicals past present and future will be based. On a four star rating scale I give it five stars.
I saw this and next to normal in the same weekend and I HIGHLY RECCOMEND DOING THAT! It's a great contrast and you'll love both for different reasons! TRUST ME. It was an amazing experience.
Next to Normal and Memphis are totally different shows.
Memphis is a high energy, fun show. Amazing, I mean really great cherography, a fun high beat score(gets a bit repetetive) and amazing technical elements. Acting is good, not fantastic, but Chad does do good characterization. Killer voices, a nice story that entertains but is like Hairspray and Dreamgirls in a way. Overall very good fun show
Next to Normal, on the other hand, is like nothing you will ever find on Broadway. A fantastic rock score with variety in songs. A story that is so touching and meaningful. Characters that everyone can feel forand relate to. Unique and incredible lighting and set. A tight ensemble cast all giving out of this world performances, led by the amazing Alice Ripley and J. Robert Spencer. And, rather than being a tradegy, this shows has hope and humor. Beautiful crafted
They are like comparing apples and oranges though. Memphis is so flashy(nothing wrong with that) and fun. Next to Normal, is more intimate. Both great, Next to Normal being my favorite, but like I said, completely different experiences. See both.
"Can't be what I can't be." Wow.......was there at the Shubert last Saturday night, a great show, WOW.....perfection.......Sexy and cool.....wowowowow....see you guys at the Tonys in June..
Im torn between either seeing this or Next to Normal when I go to New York to see a Broadway play. I think hearing him hit that D swayed my opinion. This is amazing.
Quite honestly, both this and Next to Normal are awesome!! I don't know what play you're thinking of, but go for one of these shows. You won't regret. it. =)

I saw this musical Saturday night. It was amazing. Excellent acting and singing by all the performers. It is well worth the money for a ticket, and the time and effort to get into the city. I would see it again in a heartbeat.
Great show!!! We went to a Sat. Matinee.. and there was a line up for several blocks to get in, but no one was upset.. we were all smiling because we felt the buzz even before we knew what we were going to see. It was Odd to see a play that I had no Idea how it was all going to turn out! The music is great.. I can't wait for my CD to arrive! I got autographs!!
This is one helluva great, compelling, remarkable musical -- and Chad Kimball and Montego Glover will have you jumping to your feet. A spectacular night of theater and one of Broadway's best!
I saw this show two weeks ago and it blew me away. This song by Chad Kimball brought tears to my eyes (I'm not usually a cryer), as did "Love Will Stand When All Else Falls" by Montego Glover. I saw the show again a week later with friends and we were all blown away. We were dancing in our seats.
Everyone I spoke with on the way out of the theatre seemed to be high off of the show's energy. I hope it's remembered come Tony award time. Hockadoo!!
This song is awesome! Saw the show on Friday night - it is fantastic! This entire cast is so talented. If you get a chance to see it - GO! You will not be disappointed.
Saw the show in New York last weekend- fourth preview performance. Outstanding from start to finish. Great music, story, voices and dancing. Go see it if you can.
I have been listening to this song being sung by David Bryan for years and always loved it. Have to say I am loving there rendition too - great song, great performance - Cant wait to see the show on Oct 18th
I so wish Chad would come back to "Memphis"! No one comes close to singing this as well as he sings it!

Everyone I spoke with on the way out of the theatre seemed to be high off of the show's energy. I hope it's remembered come Tony award time. Hockadoo!!

Saw the show in New York last weekend- fourth preview performance. Outstanding from start to finish. Great music, story, voices and dancing. Go see it if you can.

I could not be happier that Chad is finally getting his opportunity to shine on Broadway.
