It was my favorite TV series in the late 80s. I forgot about it through the next 20 years, and out of a sudden reminded it myself today morning. Weird!

The movie forgot Jedediah Smith. Jeremiah Johnson was a fictitious 1972 movie character. Smith was the first American in 1827 to cross into California from the Sierra Nevada.

Zeb Macahan was my hero in the 70's every saturday night when he and Luke was on nearly every swedish TV, everybody was watching "How the west was won" or "The Macahan family" as it was called here! It's still the best western series I've ever seen and I don't think I'll ever see a better one! R.I.P James Arness!
