Im fairly sure that because of your response, you don't completely understand what autotune is...essentially every song made today has used autotune, many people think autotune is just the settings T-pain and other hip hop/pop singers use, but properly used, it just gently corrects the highs and lows, and gently corrects the intonation of each note...

No.. i do know what Auto-tune is. in fact im a producer myself (dance/club genres) and use it on a regular basis so i know all the ins and outs of autotune. I myself am an average singer, and autotuning helps, so therefore im one of the reasons people hate autotune.

What im saying is.. the reason autotune is so big is because people like the effect it has on someones voice. Jason can sing perfectly on pitch, but people think it sounds cool when there is an almost robot effect added to his voice.

by the way i agreem you are making a good point in saying it gently corrects the vocals... most people think its only the robotic voice sound that tpain gets, but that is just on extreme settings. alot of producers just use it to gently correct notes, or perhaps add a bit of vibrato.. its quite diverse really. Just depends what effect people are looking for
