You have to consider the time frame this movie was made in, things were very different. India and Pakistan had just finished with the Kargil War and propaganda was following through the TV screens on both sides. Things have changed today. Pakistanis know that friendship between the two countries is mutually beneficial to both.

Most of them were starring Sunny Deol, and many negative pejoratives were used to describe "A Pakistani". Just watch the movies like "Hero" and "Gadar" which became a block buster even though they were full of negative stereotypes. Most Indian movies after Sep 11 portrayed Pakistan as the bad guy.
