I am a lifelong Husker fan. I watched the Fiesta Bowl between OU and BSU. I have to admit I expected a fairly easy win for OU. However, this game proved a couple of old sayings to be true.

The first one:

"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

BSU showed TEAMS can play and beat anyone.

The second one:

"On any given day any team can win."

BSU, congratulations on an AWESOME season. GO BRONCOS!!

Awesome documentary; I've watched it twice! As someone who had no dog in the fight, so to speak, I was pulling for Boise State since they were the overwhelming underdog. I can remember on that last play thinking to myself, "OMG, they just did the 'Statue of Liberty' play!", which my dad had told me about but I had never actually seen a team run. I've voted for this game in many polls on ESPN in many categories, and probably always will as it one is for the ages. Thank you for making this film.

One thing I thought about after leaving my comment last night was the only other game that came close to this one was the BC/Miami game with the "Hail Mary" pass from Flutie to Phelan. Again, I had no dog in the fight, but it was the classic David vs Goliath. I think what sets the Boise State game apart was the 2 trick plays, in the last few minutes of the game, one to tie and the 2nd for the win. A storybook ending for sure.

Boston College wasn't an underdog vs Miami. Miami already had 2 losses and should have lost 2 others while BC was in their best year ever, going to the Cotton Bowl and whatnot.

That OU team over-achieved that year, they shouldn't have even been in a BCS Bowl game. OU had a Wide Reciever playing QB, a young Offensive Line, Adrian Peterson was hurt, so was Malcolm Kelly after the 1st play of the game. It was a great win for BSU, but don't think for a minute that was a great Oklahoma team you beat that night..

On another note, BSU and Utah both going undefeated and beating powerhouses in their bowl games proves how awful the BCS is. You can still play all your bowls and the NCAA can make all its sponorship money with a playoff, you just replace some of the garbage bowl teams with 16 -> 8 -> 4 -> 2 ->1 and you still make all the money, if not more, because more people will tune in for USC vs. BSU than Utah State vs. Florida Southern.

OU got lazy and took BS for a joke. Being at the game and an OU fan it made me sick to watch. But now BS has not been able to surprise anybody and haven't won a bowl game since. OU is still in the title hunt year after year.BOOMER SOONER!

There is a bit of magic involved when a team that has absolutely no chance of winning but manages to perform almost perfectly. Maybe it's knowing that it's their one and only shot, or maybe it's not knowing you're supposed to lose. It's rare to see and BSU did it. They took their shot and won.

OU did it back in 2000, but they can't recreate the emotions and intangibles of that year. You can't create them yourself. Which is why OU hasn't won another national title since then.
