  • @RatRodKehl Thanks. Been wheeling it for 2 seasons now and it does good. I wnat to swap out the rear 52 inch springs for some 56's but other then that i am happy with it. Truck is going under the knife this spring and getting a 6.2 Detroit with a banks turbo. It has also been converted to a 4 speed.

  • i went 1 ton, did the crossover steering and high steer on my 84 shortbed stepside, along with the skackle flip and 8" springs. Its got about 10-12 inches of lift.. its a beast with 4.88's, lockers front and rear, SM465 four speed and a 550HP 355ci that turns 8k rpm. after i put the 200 shot of juice on her, she'll be even nastier. Dana 60 and corp 14b ff's take some abuse

  • @Badchevee1 Thats what i hear. I do mostly trail runs and use the truck for truck duties so mine is getting a diesel swap. Should be done by mid summer. I also put a sm465 in this truck and run a front locker. Thing goes well in the woods.

  • taller and wider tires float brotha so your theory of narrows doin good in snow is incorrect

  • @19cecil94 True for unpacked snow man..... out on winter trail runs I am never the first rig so I am running through packed snow where you won't float anyways. My winter tires are radial 12.5's. Honestly there is no noticeable difference between a 10.5 and 12.5 in the snow for me anyways. Swampers SUCK on ice anywyas

  • Why didn't you go with 12.50?

  • 2 reasons ...

First is they are used and where a good deal.

Second is that the skinnies do better in the snow and other terrain around here. The float action of fatter tires gets you stuck faster. there is no mud bogs around here

That said I do like 12.5's and they do add stability to the truck But these aired down should work nicely

  • if he has a 16" rim he cant with LTB's only 15" and 17" come in 12.5 ltb and 35" tall

  • @baberam 15 inch rim man

  • Cross over steering would be a major improvement to an old K10. Looks like you'll have a cool truck when you're done.

  • @buzzbomb80

thanks. I would love to do cross over but am saving that for when and if i go 1 ton

  • @84400 hell ya for 1 ton :D

  • the grease keeps the rust away

  • @Lifesgoodhere sure does!
