lol...My friend has a jack russell who freaks out at the words "chicken legs" because her sister came over one day and squeezed his legs and said Awww! Look at those CHICKEN LEGS!" He wasn't expecting it, and it upset him pretty bad. Now whenever someone says the words Chicken legs, he goes totally balistic! lol...it's really funny to see!

Terriers are nuts in general, JR's moreso than most. I took my little Airedale to an off leash area, 2 jrt's fricken tried to tear my little puppy to pieces, these dogs are psycho.

I think Jack Russell's have to make up for the fact they are very small by using their big mouths. Our Jack Russell thinks he is really big and brave until you get something out that clicks like a camera, then he goes in another room as he doesn't like the noise.

last time i chekc akc did not recognize jack russel as a breed, they were on parson jack russel. anyway ive never seen a jack russel akc registered

@CedrikTheManiac00 AKC accepted the Russell Terrier in FFS as of Oct 2005. In 2010 they were accepted into the Misc. Group and can now be shown. AKC did not use the name Jack Russell because the JRTCA has had that name. However, UKC has registered this dog since 2001 and changed from Russell Terrier to Jack Russell in Jan 2009. My dogs are registered as both UKC Jack Russells and AKC Russell Terriers.

@CedrikTheManiac00 Well this is all pretty new. Check it out - it is interesting. I wouldn't know about it except we are extremely involved in showing in UKC and the obedience in AKC. They are the best dogs I have ever had. Glad you like him - he is the best and would give his life for me.

Never Never Tease a Jack Russell. Those dogs don't bark for fun. It may look fun but one of these days a small child will make a mistake and your dumb ass owner won't be about to save it. I hunt with these animals they make great hunters and good pets but...they can turn vicious is less than a second as you can see. Those sharp teeth are very efficient at ripping flesh. I Luv these dogs, excellent killers..!!

He does stop when you say Ok. He is really really smart and does lots of tricks. He shuts doors on command, presses the Staples button for treats and is an AKC rally champion. He is also a Grand Champion in UKC. Meatball is the best dog we have ever had. Like him so much that after much study and work, we became a breeder. Meatball has two litters due in September.
