  • May you rip! :(

  • Debbie was a blessing from HaShem to the world! may she RIP!

  • G-d brought Debbie Friedman's music into my life as I began my recovery from three decades of sexual addiction. I will forever remember listening to her music on my iPod, including this video in particular, as I walked the peaceful grounds of the church where my Sex Addicts Anonymous meetings are held. Her music truly helped me to connect to a higher power, without which I don't think I could have begun my recovery from a lifetime of shameful behavior. Thank you Debbie!

  • Thank you for your music and your kicking Reform Judaism in the ass to progress and grow - may all Judaism demoniations mirror your ways.

  • How fitting this song is at this time in the history of this country. What a wonderful message of hope to the people of Tucson, AZ.

  • You are our source of strength. Rest in peace. Your voice will live on forever.

  • A Light in the Darkness, a friend to the weary, even when she was weary. A real treasure, a devoted being, you touched my deep heart. Thank you Debbie for your journey, your courage and your devotion. Sending you LOVE.

  • Thank you, Debbie for all your music and sharing your visions and melodies with us.

  • Right now, I am sowing in tears. We all miss Debbie so much. I will trust the words of her beautiful song that despite this loss, we shall reap in joy.

  • This shaggy-haired Quaker has always loved listening to her for comfort...and will always be grateful for the the comfort she brought.

  • "Mi Shebeirach" may be Debbie's signature hit, but it is only one of a long string of legacy hits that have invigorated synagogues and camps alike. Future singer-songwriters in Debbie's league will find it difficult to have their settings of the liturgy as widely-known as hers, for in her stellar career she left almost none of it unset. It is fitting that her last album is a near-complete service. Yitgadal v'yitkadash sh'mei raba...

  • Peace and eternal rest to you, who brought it to so many - and the song will go on.

  • I love you, prayers from my family and me.

  • RIP Debbie. You have enriched our lives beyond measure. You will live on in our hearts.

  • Rest in Shalom

  • I have no idea why the reform movement added those words of IMOTEINU - our Mothers. Avoteinu doesnt literally mean our fathers but rather our ancestors of the Jewish people which was established by Abraham, Issac and Jacob.

The problem starts when feminists assume that all orthodoxy is anti feminine.

    How wrong is that assumption.

  • if you like debbie freeman UR to old for youtube

  • @jaked2jake I like Debbie Friedman I guess I am to old for you tube. I guess i should tell my 519 friends that ,yes I know them all.

  • @lsachs07 are you honestly bragging about how many friends you have on the internet?

  • Bless Debbie. However, this vid is poorly made and her voice isn't as big as her songs. Still, she will live forever among our people, for her music is eternal.

  • Thanks for posting! I love this song, so simple and yet so profound.

Also, can't we just enjoy the music/video without resorting to name calling and psycho-analyzing??

  • What a moron to post a "spelling error" on a transliteration. lol

  • who are you calling a moron?!?

  • I am trying to find sheet music so I can play this on my flute at my bat mitzvah

  • Beautiful!

  • the most beuatiful song shes ever done

  • i love her songs and have proably heard and'or sang every single one of them.

i love her, but i think her voice isn't that good. she goes high when it's not high. if you look at her sheet music while listening to her sing it (CD) (yes i do that!!), it's not a "high" note and she goes into her "high land"

she is ok in and you shall be a blessing (CD) but here, she is bad at the beginning after a while she is ok.

    ♥♫

  • I love Debbie Friedman's version of this song, but this is not Debbie at her best. This was painful to listen to.

  • i heard her perform this song in 1993 and she gets better with age

  • She was at our temple (Temple Beth El) in Riverside just 8 days before this. She performed the same piece, of course. Thanks for the post!

  • I was there when Debbie introduced Mi Shebeirach at the UAHC Biennial in Boston in November, 2001. It was amazing then. It's amazing now. Love, b'ahavah.
